  1. 6 months after a book comes out is good. Lots more data available. Points changes every 3 months could be feasible as long as they aren't drastic. I'd love them to drop some things by increments of 10 and raise some the same if they go to a quicker schedule. All I know is my spooky boys needs some help. We are without a doubt the worst 2.0 army.
  2. This is something have a problem with. People still cannot buy Guardian of Souls from Soul Wars. Same goes for Warlock Bombardier and Archregent. Im certain there's more but I don't have knowledge of all the armies. If GW wanted to do something after this Sylvaneth book problem they should've started listing these heroes for solo sale. Would've filled the gap of releases over the last month or so nicely.
  3. The difference of course are those were limited run box sets and these are permanent staples of the GW lineup.
  4. Had a similar problem with a new player here. Lots of awkwardness and anxiety, but hey you put up with that. Its a game. Then the cheating began. He would move units, then move another unit, then go back to a previous unit and decide to run it (when they realized they were out of range to charge). Then the kicker, he was playing Archaon, I had specifically set my units up on the other side of his warriors to it would be zoned out by base size alone. He then proceeds to pick up his Archaon set it too close to my models (within an inch) and push two other units of warriors backwards a good 2+ inches to make sure Archaon fits. Me and another player told him he simply could not do this. He then just proceeded to charge phase ignoring protests. Then he called me a rules ******. Which to me, confirmed he knew the rules and just didn't care. I will not play with cheaters. The only solution is expulsion. If they are willing to blatantly cheat even when other players tell them they cant, they are cheating all the time and you just aren't catching it. Some of these games take 3+ hours, there is no reason to waste that much of your life on a person who does not respect your time. Never play with cheaters. If you want to be kind, give them another chance, but if the cheating is regular, it always will be.
  5. And it's even harder to gain new players when the long term ones sour to the game and discourage getting started. It would be best for GW to update all armies, books and models, to 2.0 with plastic and competitive rules. Then when that is done, release new armies.
  6. While that could be entirely possible, we don;t actually have that from GW. Imagine a Gordrakk with Feeding Frenzy. Even is his points go up to reflect it, pretty sure every Ironjawz player would take that deal. Especially when you consider Terrorghiest who does 6 mortal wounds on 6's is 300 points. Gordrakk is almost double that. And in my group we have actually been theorycrafting the idea of a Maw Krusha with no rider at 300 points. It gets crushed by a Terrorgheist regardless even without feeding frenzy. We have started to believe that GW had a buttload of extra FEC that didnt sell and made the new book with the mind to sell of all the extra. I rarely if ever saw FEC in play, or tournament lists before the new book. EDIT: Too add to this, FEC is the problem. When they made attack with a command point then everything started getting out of Pandora's box. And it shows. Slaanesh is doing well, Fyreslayers are doing well, Khorne is kinda doing well, and Gits are left behind. Skaven are doing well for a whole different reason and that's because they are basically the new 1.0 Tzeentch.
  7. This really is the best solution. A lot of the abilities are wildly less good than say Feeding Frenzy or Excess of Violence (or the Fyreslayer one I cant recall the name of). Look at them compared to Spectral Overseer on Knight of Shrouds, or Might Waagh! on Megaboss on Maw Krusha. These cost the same points and you can get 1-2 extra attacks per model, whereas the former bring entire combats for the same price.
  8. I tried games with huge blobs of Chainrasp and Grimghasts and moving all those models just never felt fun. Im much more happy to just slam a bunch of "hope for 6's" on the board. I actually ordered 3 more boxes of spirit hosts. I know they pretty much wont be competitive against 2.0 armies until we get an update. But in my playgroup we're all pretty low end so we dont have to take the meta lists. When Ironjawz and Seraphon get new books I have no doubt it will become actually impossible to win with NH.
  9. Took this to victory today. It was very hard fought. General: 100 Dreadblade Harrow (Ruler of the Spirit Hosts, Balefire Blade) Heros: 240 Lady Olynder (Soul Cage) 140 Guardian of Souls (Shademist) 120 Spirit Torment 120 Spirit Torment Battlelines: 160 5x Hexwraiths 160 5x Hexwraiths 240 6x Spirit Hosts Other Units: 80 4x Myrmourn Banshees 280 Black Coach 300 Mounrgul Endless Spells: 60 Chronomantic Cogs We played Starstrike adapted for 3 players. 6K was on the board. I played against Ironjawz and Seraphon. Gordrakk charged my line turn 1. Killed black coach outright and destructive bulked 1 1/2 hexwraiths. I attacked back with 4 Hex's a GoS and a Spirit Torment. Took him down to 7. On my turn I used olynders hero phase shot for 3 mortals, then used grave sands of time for the once per battle for 2 more. Dropped Mourngul with a spirit torment behind him at the end of movement (from the underworld). Spirit Hosts dropped near the middle of the board. Over the next 3 turns I tabled most of the Ironjawz. (Megaboss on Maw Krusha with Ethereal Amulet is bull) The Seraphon player stayed back for most of this as we were killing each other. Luck struck as turn 2 the star hit our side, then one of the next 2 dropped in my deployment. Turn 4 started and Megaboss on foot was the only Ironjawz unit left. I killed that and sent the Spirit Hosts crashing into the seraphon front lines. The used Dreadblade Harrow to discorporate behind him and brought some hexwraiths with. Turn 5 I won priority and just zone blocked out the Seraphon teleporting as I already had more victory points. Never got the Cogs off all game. To be real, I only got two spells off all game and they were both Spectral Summons. Just bad rolling and when anything else actually passed the Seraphon would unbind.
  10. Nighthaunt Scenery PLZ!!!! (Realistically probably new Death army related)
  11. For anyone who has done it, what's the best way for Black Coach to put the 4 horses side by side?
  12. I would definitely go for GoS as general with Ruler of the Spirit Hosts. Gonna need those command points to re-roll charges in the hopes of getting Waves of Terror.
  13. I am dying to see the new rules for Meeting Engagements. I want to get into more armies and it's a lot easier at 1k. Plus getting new people to play you HAVE to do smaller games.
  14. I fully expect Ogor Kingdoms, Orruk Hordes, Tzeench, Kharadron Overlordds, and Seraphon to all get books THIS year. Aelves is a maybe, I dont know too much about their model range so I wouldnt rule it out. Slaves To Darkness will be consuming Everchosen and a bunch of Warcry "factions" in my opinion and souping them. I feel like this will be last due to the number of warcry things they can pump out ahead of time. EDIT: (then hopefully 2020 starts off with Nighthaunt 2.0 )
  15. Always worth it to check. I can use Dreadblade Harrows Phantasmal Discorporation and then use Spectral Summons in the same turn right? They both say start of movement phase so I wanna make sure.
  16. I do think most of the army can be made competitive with point drops. The only unit I believe NEEDS a rework is Glaivewraith Stalkers. But I do believe that all our Frightful Touch's needs to continue on as hits on top of mortal wounds. Thats basically what every army has now. EDIT: @Joseph Mackay I would wholeheartedly get behind Malign Sorcery artefacts being grand alliance only. Day 1 I was dealing with Maw Krushas and Durthus/Treelord Ancients with ethereal. Now that every army has gotten MORE mortal wound spam than Nighthaunt started with they all take Ignax's Scales.
  17. I have been fighting this battle since day 1. Everyone says unrendable is worth the extra cost. Im willing to just give up ethereal to cut the cost in half. Sidenote, people say Ethereal is so powerful and is included in the cost, ok then how about Ethereal Amulet is removed from the artefacts? Im tired of people who get 3+ saves taking it and mystic shielding.
  18. I remember when Nighthaunt came out. Boy do I love my spooky bois. And I remember the days when people called for Wave of Terror nerfs.... I would gladly give up Wave of Terror for any other armies attack twice ability. Because at this point, I literally only use command points to re-roll charges in the hopes that I get a Wave of Terror.
  19. I thought GHB released on the 15th. I would assume the pre-order will go up with the contrast.
  20. I wll probably try a couple games as LoG. But I'd rather focus on NH lists since that seems to be the long term viable option. Olynder having to be the general is what really killed LoG for me. Hopefully they just take one of the crappy NH command traits away and give them the -2 bravery debuff within 12" of general.
  21. Disappointing. Was hoping for more from the new legion. Guess we pin our hopes to the GHB now. Easily gonna be over a year (closer to 3) before Nighthaunt gets a new book.
  22. Nagash did nothing wrong. It's all Sigmar's fault. He promised the dead to Nagash all the while knowing he was taking the best for his golden boys.
  23. They already confirmed it would be for matched play as well.
  24. This list is pretty awesome. Now just imagine if Myrmourn or HArridans became battleline in LoG
  25. You can re-roll them with a command point once. You pay one command point from a hero within 6" or your general within 12" and you re-roll BOTH dice (cant keep one and re-roll the other). You cannot re-roll a re-roll though so it only works once. And yes, sometimes the dice are hot and he will hit multiple unmodified 10's.
