  1. Death players about to rage quit and burn our armies. Lolz. On serious note the new Slanesh stuff all looks pretty good. Merry Christmas everyone
  2. Let's not forget all Treelords have that nasty stomp ability that affects anything. The times I've forgotten this charged my VLoZD in and then get stomped into going last, it's not a nice experience. That should not work on other monsters or flying units in my opinion. Other than that I agree they do need attention, Sylvaneth are my regular opponent and always feel Alarielle is even worse than Nagash when they are both meant to be Gods of their respective realms.
  3. So I know most people are in the camp of the nerf needed to happen. I am not, never have been and never will be. In the lore the Petrifex Elite are made from the bones of great beasts etc making there bodies tougher than other Bonereapers. Bonereapers are supposedly Nagashs answer to Stormcast and Petrifex are the elite, the +1 save fitted the lore and made you feel like you were fielding an "Elite" army. So the great nerf to me was a real slap in the face, especially when you look a bit further into it. If you field Nagash in a petrifex Elite army. his command ability allows re-rolls of 1 for saves army wide and negate battleshock (which OBR already do anyway)leaving the only useful part of it being the re-roll 1's on attack rolls. I accept that Nagash has to work in Legions still, but his command ability doesn't actually do that much in OBR which really does shaft him and Petrifex Nagash lists. Warhammer Weekly had a podcast concerning Monsters and Gods recently where they hit the nail on the head for my money; Nagash needs to work in whatever army he is taken in like Archaon apparently does for Chaos (never played against Archaon so have no knowledge as to whether this is true or not). This would mean LoN, OBR, FEC, Nighthaunt and the incoming Soulblight release would all be able to take him as the general (because if Nagash is on the field why would anyone else be in charge?) and his warscroll should be such that he works with all of them and doesn't end up with redundant rules in one army etc. I fully accept I'm in the minority about Petrifex and the +1 save, even if lore wise it actually fits. The replacement just seems ill thought out, especially if you filed Nagash. Here's to Soulblight having good models and good but not overly good (for fear of hard nerfing) rules in 2021!
  4. Yeah since AoS. Lots of Vamps in WFB had hair and long hair at that!
  5. Not to mention this is the first time in a long time a (what I’m guessing is) male vampire has had hair in any artwork! Vampires should be allowed hair, maybe not Sigvald levels of conditioned locks but the chrome dome alliance was really wearing thin. Here’s to vampire models with hair and covered arms!
  6. Didn't think Lumineth were in need of an update quite so soon? As that is basically what the broken realm books seem to be. Duaradin players must be about ready to shave their beards off. Hell i'm a death player and if this turns out to be true I might do the same and possibly in memory of the nutjob that torched their High Elf Army torch one skeg...
  7. Do we really need more focus on pointy ears? I'd almost rather Sigmar open another Stormcast Chamber!
  8. Also Forge World would most likely be handling The Old World when that turns up? Can't see AoS being catered for really.
  9. Ignore it and say you have not seen this blasphemy! Most people would go Mortis Praetorians with Katakros now it seems. The +1 save fitted the lore for Petrifex, the -1 rend command ability is what broke them imo and had no lore backing either. It's almost like Death players aren't allowed to have good things while order get Teclis, Gotrek, Slyvaneth big trees being able to stomp other monsters into striking last is also very questionable. I still don't understand when rend exisits why so many peopele were losing their minds over a sub faction having access to a +1 save, yes Mortek guard had a 3+ that they could re-roll but with that easily went back to 4+ as soon as anything with any rend attacked them. Look at Nagash as soon as anything over -1 rend touches him your in trouble, which shouldn't be the case but yeah it is
  10. Still got my 3rd edition 40k starter set marines (which bizarrely were black templars according to the painting instructions, for some reason I heard the call of my spiritual liege and went ahead and painted them as smurfs though ). Stayed with 40k until maybe 5th edition at most but pretty much converted to WFB from 6th ed onwards.
  11. Other than Throgg, who did something quite different.
  12. This might be helpful although perhaps not what your after. Katakros, Painted By Pros - Warhammer Community (warhammer-community.com)
  13. Dear lord, I don't think I'm ready for Manfred's muscle bound vampires doing Hulk Hogan impersonations.
  14. Is there not a dedicated thread for all this pointy ear nonsense?!
  15. I mean it's not quite back to 8th ed yet but the fact lots of people will put bigger units in movement trays speaks volumes. If we had square bases we could have ranks, flank and rear charges again and something with a bit more to it than the non event battleshock is for most armies.
  16. Jesus Christ, just watched the video for Sigvald!!! Don’t play Slaanesh but that almost made me want to but the model which could be a good shout if soulblight turn out to be hot garbage modelwise...
  17. That’s embarrassing; I’ve been in the hobby 20+ years and don’t ever recall it being a thing!
  18. So death get shafted... again! On the plus side/semi amusing they’ve named a planet Metalica!
  19. Most of the carried over Death units are pretty terrible, grave guard (these used to be a massive step up from skeletons now not so much), skeletons, Blood Knights (getting a well placed charge off with these in 8th was something to behold, now I worry if they'll last a round of combat even if they charge). Morghasts and Nagash almost became worth their points with the +1 save Petrifex gave them and then look what happened to that, although Morghasts did get a points reduction as compensation...
  20. This. I would lose my ****** if they released Abhorash but (even though he’s never had rules or a model) that’s another character from a setting they to great lengths to get rid of. I think there’s an argue meant to be had for the incarnates (Nagash, Teclis, Malekith etc) but other than that new characters would be better. Also some explanation as to how characters Frye old world survived would be good. I think the nearest thing we got for the three mortarchs is nagash remembered them back into existence, which is pretty weak in my opinion.
  21. Yep, Nagash will put up with a lot but turning to the Chaos Gods is rather frowned upon. Vlad also disposed of Walach Harkon for the same reasons in the end times.
  22. In a round about way I'm hoping no Vampire units get updates, as that most likely means the Battletome will be a fair way off. Death need something like how fear used to work in WFB couple that with bravery modifiers and suddenly it becomes more of a worry for the opponent. Mind you with how Bravery and Battleshock are pretty much a non entity I won't hold my breath.
  23. All Aelves in warhammer are that way though, with the distinct exception of Malekith who as the end times proved turned out to just be right about everything!
  24. 4/5 armies are order?! That seems very, very odd. Mind you I'm still sour about how Petrifex were treated so hey ho. You can use both versions of Morathi at the same time FTW!
