  1. No, only the core set comes like that. None of the expansions do that. Unless maybe the revoxed Garreks Reavers and Steelheart's champions do?
  2. Reposting it here in the FAQ section... How exactly does Exreme flank work? I think I need picture examples of Extreme flank with different board set ups because I can't quite wrap my head around it, especially the last parts of it.
  3. I don't even want to think avout that but a timely unholy vigour might need to be included if it pops up a lot. Edit: I think I need picture examples of Extreme flank with different board set ups because I can't quite wrap my head around it, especially the last parts of it ?
  4. Oh yeah, I felt like most of them were and just went with the flow, and it felt like it worked for my warband pretty well. I think it might be quite crucial to score that 3 glory for the inspire ASAP, like if you do it the first round or early 2nd round it'll help a ton because you get two defense dice on most gobbos and that can really shut down some enemy attacks that would just insta-gib most of your guys. I did include quite a lot of pushes, just to get grots in position or to easier surround enemy fighters. I can totally see scurrying up to an enemy with a bunch of grots and then playing confusion could grab you some of those 'surround/trap' the enemy objectives. I put shardfall in there as well and it felt really great as another means of trapping opponents and for blocking charge lanes. So far I'm really enjoying this playstyle, but we'll see how it holds up against other opponents.
  5. Tried a game today with a lot of score immediate glory cards, because they seem to have quite a few of those. And I sort of leaned into surrounding opponents/trapping them. Played against an aggro Steelhearts and I was actually suprised at how well I did xD I put Drizgit next to the netter-gobbo. and one squig next to him and one behind. Stormcast got first turn and pulped one of the archers (because I had them up front). Still have no idea what gobbos to put closest to the enemy but Drizgit and his squigs at least present a nasty wall that'll swamp you if you try and go in. At one point managed to do a 5 damage attack with one of the squigs with Stab 'em in the knee, having 3 supporting fighters plus Low Kunning and the Ravenous upgrade. Pretty insane with the squig being inspired, rolling 3 dice and with cleave... So of course I roll 3 hammers and the opponent saves with a crit....
  6. Ordered the gitz online and some magic dice. they scatter template isn't included in thier box is it? I'm not really tempted to buy the new core box (Nightvault) except for the game boards tbh, but I realized I'm probably missing out on some more stuff
  7. Awesome! Also I really dig the war queen. Gonna habe to get one myself.
  8. Do you guys run units of skillreapers in 5's or 10's? I got none but it sounds like I should. Recently got 5 wrathmongers and I've been loving them so far.
  9. I actually dig the flowers. Made me want to do a Día de muertos/Day of the dead themed army when I saw them Instead I have an army of ghostly knights, protecting the coach with their slain vampire count in until he arises to lead them oncemore. Anyways, I was a bit afraid that maybe they wouldn't be killy enough. Man do I want a good reroll to hit buff for the Nighthaunt.
  10. Man I want to try out the Harridans, but they don't really fit into the look of my army (sadly), and I don't know if 10 is too small a unit?
  11. Really enjoyed the episodes so far, I burst out laughing at the train to work so I might uhm, maybe not listen on the commute
  12. I love it, blood warriors, chaos knights and such become really scary with such a good save. And in the bloodforged battalion. 3+ blood warriors ignoring rend -1? Yes please! I also run resanguination if I have a few big boys to heal.
  13. I started out with really liking SH, but as others have said their damage output isn't that great. But I think I will switch it up a bit and use them more defensively as opposed to before when I tried using them to attack. They tie up units more than anything. I'm also going to try and be more offensive with my chainrasps, try and soften up targets and hold them in place for my more killy units, and distract a bit so hopefully the chainrasps will take more of the damage that maybe otherwise would be directed at my Grimghasts, for example. Started painting my Hexwraiths (but I built them as Black knights, because I liked the knightly theme more), but man... Compared to the newer Night haunts like the KoS on steed and the Harrows, it feels a bit off painting some parts ethereal and others not. I think it's because the newer NH have a much better blend going from like the skeleton bone of the horse to the etheral bits which makes it easier to define what areas to paint in what colours. \ Random rant over
  14. Anyone done something similiar to this and have any pointers? Harridan - General. Ruler of the spirit host. Knight of Shrouds on steed - pendant of the fell wind (maybe?) Harridan - midnight tome, shademist spell 2x20 chainrasp 2x10 hexwraiths 20 grimghast Black coach Deathriders battalion.
  15. "The khorgaraths end up grinding ten chainrasps into ectoplasm and 4 more decide they would rather not be fighting a giant pissed off monkey demon that collects skulls and book it for shyish to make it for tea time. " That part made me chuckle. Also Inever realized the giant monkey daemon look and now I can't unsee it
  16. Just noticed the Bloodforged battalions infecteous bloodletting ability makes you roll for every *Model* within 3". Whilst it will happen a lot more then, it sounds super time consuming ?
  17. The Sylvaneth and Darkoath artworks look unfinished/unpolished compared to the others. Or were perhaps painted by a different artist. Anyways! Super exciting warbands. I am really hyped for the moonclan, Troggoth/creatures of destruction and tbh the Darkoath look interesting, especially if that's a javelin/throwing spear.
  18. Nice! Yeah mine never got to swing his talons last game I used him either. Most stuff melts to the axe, but the claws are a nice backup just in case ? We don't play overly competetive here so mine kinda lives for most of the battle. But an artefact that makes him a bit tankier and/or hopefully get him in cover or outside LoS.
  19. That grot ? I like his iron brander and he appears to have hot coals on top of his helmet. Maybe grots will lean (more) into a monster/creature herder theme?
  20. I actually rage quit Whfb. Used to play Beastmen and reguraly got destroyed by fancier armies and how the clunky blocks interacted was no fun. Switched over to Orks in 40k and had a lot more fun. Had to lurk and read about AoS for the longest time because all the whfb players were throwinf hissy fits over the transition amd refused to even try it. Ghb came around and a friend that had never played miniatures games before except for our quick dive into Dystopian wars, split the core box with me. And we loved it. I've been claiming skulls ever since!
  21. Well that qualifies as a lot for sure, but very similiar to what I had in mind actually. I'm mostly worried on the surviveability of the Blood sisters, being quite expensive. But a block of cheaper infantry could perhaps take the brunt? I suspect Hagnarr is the preferred choice to add some protection? Also the heartrenders, are they any good for their points? Feels like they won't do too much damage but it might be nice to have a little shooting? Or is there anything that can buff them up? I've read a little and I think mindrazor will be fantastic on the Sisters but on the archers, that 6+ to hit = 1 mortal wound actually feels like it takes away from any buff apart from buffs on to hit rolls. XD
  22. If I want to start a DoK army with a lot of uh, snake ladies and medusae, what would be some general advice on what to think about and how to play it?
  23. Immense power and the uh.. amulet that gives him an 8" reroll 1's to hit. And 1's to wound if he charges is what I run. I did 9 wounds with the axe and just gibbed my opponents SC general. Didn't even get to use my talons the whole game. Plus the amulet buffs your other units too which is great.
