  1. So, Warhammer World announced this event on their Facebook page on Saturday, and I thought it sounded like fun. So I nipped across there and picked up a Khorne Bloodbound Start Collecting box, because I've been keen on painting some Blood Warriors for a while, and signed up. Anyone else thinking they might enjoy painting a few new models and having some small-scale gaming fun?

  4. I've just put together a list of where to find all the Battleplans (ie, the name of the Battleplan and which book(s) it's in) which I'm happy to share if people think it'll be useful. We're close to 100 published Battleplans, so I know it's helpful to me in finding the right publication...
  5. Since there aren't any Slaves to Darkness-specific Allegiance Abilities in the General's Handbook (just the Grand Alliance: Chaos ones), then as long as everything in your army has the Chaos keyword, you can use those. The only difference it would make is to Battleline units, and then only in Matched Play games that are using those rules. Looking at what's floating around online, it seems that your Chaos Warriors are Battleline regardless, and there are a few other nice choices throughout the various Chaos lists that seem to be Battleline regardless of Allegiance – looks like at least another 9 across Brayherd/various Skaven/various Daemons/Bloodbound. That's a lot of choices and cool models to paint. If you choose to stick to solely Slaves to Darkness, your Knights and Marauder Horsemen become Battleline, but you're limiting yourself to just what's in that list rather than being able to experience the full majesty of Chaos, as it were. Neither is the wrong choice – it's just down to what you'd prefer to paint and play with. And of course, if you're playing Open or Narrative games, the whole Battleline thing is likely a moot point anyway.
  6. @UrFrndJenn Yeah, but they're awesome Tzeentch models, and let's be honest, sticking rigidly to one narrow faction just isn't as much fun. Also, since we're being jokily pedantic, he mentioned Varanguard which ain't Slaves to Darkness either.
  7. Lovely. Just lovely.
  8. My WIP is also Silver Tower. Trying to get the whole set painted for a local board gaming event in July. Here's one of the nearly-finished models. The rest of the denizens are in various stages of finishedness, from the Ogroid Thaumaturge that just needs based, to the Tzaangors which are barely started and intimidating the hell out of me.
  9. In that case, you could do worse than picking up Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower. You get small but serviceable units of Tzeentch Kairoc Acolytes and Tzaangors, a Gaunt Summoner, an Ogroid Thaumaturge and some Horrors, plus the Darkoath Chieftain makes a great character for Slaves to Darkness. Oh, and you get a whole fantastic board game to play as well.
  10. These are looking lovely. As a former Imperial Fists painter from the dark times pre-Foundation paints (let alone the current wonderful system), I feel the yellow pain, and you're doing a great job with it so far. Can't wait to see a whole painted unit.
  11. Super sexy. Definitely need to grab these and scenery dice.
  12. Wow, @WoollyMammoth... And I thought I was a hobby butterfly, with mixed Destruction, Stormcast/Seraphon and the Silver Tower minis on the go at once...
  13. I think you can very rarely go wrong with a turquoise-y shade, and that looks fab. A whole army painted like that will be extremely eye-catching.
  14. These are stunning. Probably the best Hallowed Knights I've seen. My one tiny criticism would be that the skin colour on the Dracoth is too similar to the armour for my tastes. But that's a matter of personal choice.
  15. Yeah, about the best you've got at the moment is keeping a Lord on Disc general close to Arcanites and Thaumaturges, as they benefit from the re-rolls for the Lord of Fate command ability... but that depends on what number you're re-rolling, of course. There are a few synergies between wizards and daemons, but nothing game-altering, really.
