  1. I mean, you did reply to someone suggesting that if they want all the specific models in a box its a good deal with a tirade about how they are encouraging people to buy models they dont need earlier. Honestly dude, its toy soldiers, its not worth getting that upset over (Though i know im just as susceptible as anyone ) There are a whole load of tyranid rumour engines and video snatches showing some big flying nid beastie, probably the Return of the Parasite of Mortex? Shame theres no new minis today
  2. Unfortunately it feels like updates have been effectively rolled into Warhammer+ vault and app if you dont buy the issue in question, though a PDF compilation with the regular updates would be nice, even if just things like the warscroll changes! That said they arent even bothering to put things like hobby bingo or titan banners up online these days, its like the whole company is regressing away from the internet
  3. Aww yeah Tamurkhan and the Bestinary book fw did were amazing, its a damn shame noone bought them apparently
  4. I certainly much prefer the streamlined BAttletome style to the bloated steaming mess that is 40k right now
  5. I did write a battle pack for our PtG campaign day but that was primarily aimed at introducing rusty WHFB and 40k players to AoS style scenarios
  6. Our group is enjoying the game still, but we are playing fairly small Ptg games. Main things id want: 1. Up the Battletome releases as there is some major disparity at times in power and games design ethos between books and it sucks. 2. More Path to Glory support, ideally a campaign book or something giving more to do, have they ever come back to outposts even? Plus a revamped Anvil of Apotheosis!
  7. Played a load of 600pt games of ptg, just climbing to 1000 in the last couple and it was great fun, though some monsters just under 300pts were a bit brutal!
  8. One of my gaming group buys bundles like these off GW but purely because hes been burned by third party retailers and likes the serving suggestion essentially. We were low key ribbing him for months because he bought some "all the warhounds" bundle for AT despite running mostly Warlords all the time and had way more cards etc than he would ever need even if he did field em for example
  9. Our group has had it on the table for ages but Titanicus and AoS tned to be more popular. Still got a game in tonight wit h a pure Eshin warband and squeaked a win over some Kruelboyz. I went for loads of gutter runners, a couple of token nightrunners and a Deathmaster leader and the gutter runners speed and decent damage were key
  10. For context, if i was still working id have bought into a Steam tank army in a heartbeat and have had a whole bunch of converted and baggage laden tonks stuffed in a box somewhere but none of the other "monsters as battleline" options have really appealed. Its still a lot more positive than things like the Skaven where you cant take anything off theme, even gnawholes or endless spells (according to the app) if you want to change your battleline options.
  11. Ech, i like a broad selection of battleline but then id rather people collect the army they want rather than the army they want plus the absolute minimum expenditure on some token unit they are forced to take. I am however blessed by a fairly non competitive and older group these days, i can see how restrictions help pick up games.
  12. Honestly id prefer them to keep any matched play anvil use extremely loose as it is currently. Normally im all for breadth but in my experience having a "balanced" version means a lot of people will insist on using that and let the broader system rot which would be a big shame.
  13. I kinda like how they are leaning into armies of literally one model repeated half a dozen times for FS, very on brand for them Tried TTS a few times in lockdown but it really was a lot of work for the payoff unfortunately, still, it meant my buddy gave me a much better mic which was a great help over the rest of lockdown!
  14. Pretty sure the nurgle release ran into the same thing as its 40k peers, the delays being less telegraphed and December being a common time for less staff in the office. Some of the Eldar plan was clearly premeditated but the last dozen or so have been super fillery articles. I think the other choices are also relevant here, IDK and FS are pretty solidly the least popular AOS armies, i think someone may just be playing the numbers 40k still wildly outsells AoS though id heard its shifting a bit. 40k being ****** right now is certainly why our group has refocused more on AoS so anecdotally im sure thats not uncommon. That said most of our group is still buying 40k minis to some degree even if we arent planning to play with them any time soon. Might be copium but rumours seem to indicate Sylvaneth and/or Skaven getting a bit more on the release schedule, perhaps with Tyranids rumoured to be a Codex + Hero release the DoK and NH will get more focus in the coming months too?
  15. I suspect a lot of the extra articles are down to padding out the release schedule a bit due to more delays behind the scenes but it is also a big relaunch of a somewhat neglected cornerstone of 40k and part of the methodical big xeno relaunches they have been working through the last few years, once thats done id hope some of that energy goes on a similar project for AoS, blowing off the dust and replacing super old plastic core kits.
  16. Been revamping my old Eshin army since i think late December so that kinda counts? I lost all my practice games but my PtG force is currently undefeated and now i have a Verminlord ho ho ho Rebasing and touch ups was satisfying, scratchbuilding some gnawholes was awesome fun and the Verminlord and Endless spells were good too, looking forward to more games!
  17. Well she is a Daemon prince isnt she so she could just exist in 40k, that said the newborn Slannesh daemon princes didnt get rules in 40k afaik so far
  18. A new Daemon prince could be cool, i did chuckle at a unit entry once deemed "too customisable" for a specific model now has had so many over the years
  19. Id love a Path to Glory book/pack like the 40k Crusade ones and an expanded Anvil would make an excellent focus for it!
  20. I asked for pictures of Spiderman dammit! I dont care if they resemble minis of spiderman or not! *chomps cigar*
  21. Id assume Whitefang means Tyranids, they might act like bugs but they have always been modelled more on dinosaurs.
  22. Sylvaneth are doing alright for various sized treefolk and revenants i think, id probably look at bugs and sprites, big tank bug like the one Alarielle is riding would be awesome, maybe an arty bug though might be a bit too lizard, i reckon sprite/bug swarms would look amazing with modern tech too.
  23. Yeah lone heroes are a lot less effort and its not unknown for them to be side/passion projects by the sculptors which is obviously even less I suspect one of the reasons we are seeing so many right now though is the smaller sprues needing less production time given how many production/logistics issues GW has right now.
  24. Ive only had a bit of experience with the Cities and Sigmarine ones and they are wildly undergunned, they need to get with the times and mount them on dinosaurs so the artillery can delete units (albeit of skaven, not too high a bar) like the olde days of cannon sniping
