  1. For now I only got to play a game with the choice 2 + 6 (Gate + Kraken + 2x3 mancrushers) against stormcast. Unfortunately I had a series of very unfortunate throws on the general and I conceded to the third round (the Gate had come to have +3 on the save and 6+ of ward and in any case suffered 35+ wounds, caused by mortals and fulminators). However, the 2 + 6 is rejected not for a matter of resistance, but of control of the field: Gallett's primary and secondary require a great control of the board (and I also mean to play at denying the opponent's tactics), so I want to try both a solution with the Krondspine, both a 3 + 3 (with singles mancrushers, maybe bounty hunters).
  2. Exactly as I told you a few weeks ago, grinning blades despite the new update does not solve the big problems that this alliance has. The only useful things (already tested of course) of this sub-faction are: Nasty Hex, hobgrots, Boltboyz and Mirebrute. That said I would avoid vulture and ballista like death and aim for the 3x combo Mirebrute (general with Egomaniak and tome arcane) plus Hobgrots and Boltboyz. It won't be a 4-1 list, sure, but at least if you encounter armies with "strike first" you avoid losing in the second round, imho. ps: also consider the incarnate, as a flying stopper and bonus to cast/dispell.
  3. I prefer that kind of problem to the tax of 2x10 Gutrippaz, that do nearly nothing. Yeah with no point adjustment this allegiance is still very tricky to play and win, but we have good tools to use: strong magic (most of the casting is 7, but Pebble/Incarnate can help), a good grand strategy (Waagh!), ranged mortal wound output and non GV cheap screens (grots). We can also consider Kragnos, but I played it only with SoB.
  4. I wanna try a 3 Mirebrute Waaagh with a Sloggoth behind 😆 for "one hell of a party". The reaining list (Big Yellers) is: Sludgeraker Shaman 10 x Gutrippaz 2 x 6 Boltboyz 2 x10 Grots (no battline) Shackles
  5. NOBODY: ........ GW: Current meta lacks masculity? SBRAAAAAAAAAAAAMMM!!! *Doom music intesifies* 🤣
  6. Hi peep! A question about a list choice, about sons with KragBro. It's better breakeer tribe, with 2 Gate, or Taker tribe, with Kraken with sandals and Gate? I mean the first solution is more popular, but why not to take a more tactical Mega, with the same DPS (thanks to sandals)?

  8. Absolute paper tiger. He doesn't match his real power that background says about him. And costs so much too. Thanks to new battlescroll I think the trophy for best general is the foot boss.
  9. THIS. Basically you saturate the table with models (yesterday a full dragon list lost against it) and do not forget summons! It's scary yeah, but it's costly.
  10. One in my group is testing an "all in thunderscorn" list, with 4 shagghots and only dragon ogors. 240 wounds to deal with it's a Thing. Has anyone ever thought about using such an idea?
  11. Well then first of all in my army they would be the only ones to have beastmen traits, therefore recognizable from everything else, but there is one aspect in fact that I had not considered: the tournament infopack. Where I come from, they could make a fuss about such a proxy (although I used to kitbash to reinforce the armors). So the alternative for stay sure is apply chaos knights heads, getting "mutated warriors". Anyone had the same issue?
  12. Hi, fellow pernicious brothers! An hobby question about our army: converting chaos chosen. My idea is to buy 10 bestigors and use they as chosen, maybe as they are "bestigor destroyers" (actually bestigor from Spyre Tyrants, for ones who doesn't remember). Now, do you think it can visually work? PS: Plan B is to use bestigors with chaos knights heads, to simulate "mutated chosen", cause then they maintain goat legs, but I prefer the first idea.
  13. -Battletome Fyreslayers -Battletome Idoneth deepkin - Nighthuants
  14. Ok, cool. Let's chat about the 2022 news: 1) you face Nurgle (20+10 plaguebearers or 4x5 blightkings, choose one). What's your strategy? 2) you face Bastian + 4 Stormdrakes + 6 Raptors in one drop. What's your strategy?
  15. It's more risky auto-inflicts wounds in the current meta, beacuase of ranged threats. So you trade a major buff (only to cast) with vulnerability. Ever heard that you can position yourself beyond the dispel range? And not so many "top tier" army have full table dispel. All the considerations that I brought you are quite far from personal feelings: each of them is linked to objective data and although the lists you mention have won tournaments, IJ only won one tournament last month (also with a 4-1). This means that all the armies at the high tables are gradually learning to take countermeasures to the type of list you have proposed. And all that before the dataslate. In fact, I hope you are not taking this on personal level, because we are simply talking about competitive game datas and ways to deal with it with an army we have in common. I expressed my disappointment with a different approach than mine and I argued. Mh I tested against Nagash (old warscroll). Do we take it for good as comparison?
  16. And then? You are starting by a list that near everyone can study, because it won a big tournament (months ago). Assumed this, let's analyze that choice in the current situation: - lost the 5+ ward on MK (dataslate) - lost the possibility to heal MK in CC (dataslate) - lost 2 units of GG (point rise) - Stormdrakes appeared! - new Nurgle appeared! - new Kragnos appeared! Now, "5x3 GG" how can they solve these new problems? You can skirmish with paper screens (admitted and not granted you had destroyed they) and then step back. Let's be honest: when the pairings are selected the only thing you can do is hope to not to run into someone who has a minimum of vision of game, because if you are "zooned out" you have no way to recover the game. So a spell that enters at the 55% of probabilities, and can be rerolable, is unreliable? Instead a 42% (with no buffs) is relieable? And who are those chads of sorcery that dominates the actual magic phase?
  17. Unfortunately I disagree with the teleport, for the simple fact that it is possible to use the "master of magic" command trait on any wizard (or arcane tome hero). In this way we not only have an almost guaranteed cast, but also a good antimagic. I find the footboss a very good bearer of this tactic, for his point cost, after many playtests. Talkin in general, I see many many people in this forum (look at the dragons topic for example) thinks "if an army is good to do one thing, that thing is the only way to play aginst anyone". That's a ****** bigger than a skyscraper. In my group this philosophy of listing is called: "mono-mossa" (in english I think is "One-Trick-Pony"). Example: Ironjawz must alpha strike or, even going second, maximazi dps turn one? And what happens if you fail at it? You very lost. So all the conceptions of one drop listing, relying all the games only on 3 warscrolls (MK+pigs+chanter) and concentrate a lot of points in a bunch of wounds (Idol or double MK) is like think of winning a formula 1 race just by accelerating.
  18. As I had proposed a few posts ago (but sometimes it happens to be ignored): This is an "all offensive army", so without any defence ability, to protect us I think we must put as many (useful) wounds as we can, on the battlefield.
  19. I wanna play this Irosunz list, but I dunno if I gonna aim at low drop or don't care: Mk Warchanter Warchanter Megaboss on foot 2x10 Brutes 2x5 Ardboys 6x Gruntas It's a lot of wounds and menaces, but I'm testing diffrent configurations before a big tournament. Against nurgle daemons I lost, for example.
  20. I would like to bring you a topic that I have been thinking about for a while: one drop or not? Do the Ironjawz really need it? My answer is no, due to the amount of wounds that can be deployed on an average list. Tell me yours and I will argue mine.
  21. So another playtest yesterday vs 4 Megas and surprisingly I won! The mission was the one with 6 objs and the burning option, I played legion of the first prince (2x10 pinks, 6 furies, 5 hounds, Epitome and the big 3). On my perpsective non Archaon chaos lists can win on secondaries against 4 megas, and on of them must be kill one of the 4.
  22. In fact, I don't think that setting the list towards close combat can fix things: maybe vs SoB would help, but it would unbalance the matchups towards other opponents.
  23. Really? mh interessting to read. My big problem was to count beyond 30 on obj controlled by a Megagargant. Pinks lasts one round against two Megas, cause he splits 2 and 2. But I mean... if you concentrate 2000 pts only on one, you may kill it.
  24. Ya mean we must wait dicember FAQs to deal with it?
