So we have 2/4 heralds, nice. I'd imagine these are all going to drop on the same week, would be kinda lame to roll up to a game with your herald while your opponent from a different GA didn't have theirs.

Well that pretty much confirms it! GW wouldn't have anything non-GW in a video in their own building. Also the room Dave went in @ the end was the "Stormcast" room...I wonder what was in that 'ard case...

I mean, I'm excited for the new SC model, but yeah, we need a bit more diverse love in the Mortal Realms. That article mentioned that there would be more previews on Saturday, with one in particular being very exciting. Could be 40k, or anything else for that matter...I am cautiously optimistic that it will be something fun for AOS.

Love that we got a hook for International Talk like a Pirate day. If there WERE some kind of zombie pirate release, I'd be walkin the plank on that so fast it would make your doubloons spin.

I mean, we really only have to wait until the DG book comes out right? When it does we will know for sure if there will be Pestigors, new Nurgle demons, stuff like that. As to when, well that's got me beat. I feel like we still have sooo many releases before the year is up, at this point aside from Papa Nurgle I don't think we are going to see another major AOS proper release, Shadespire not withstanding.

If you listen to Warhammer Weekly with Vince and Tom this week, Vince highlights that each individual model from the Shadespire warbands will apparently be getting their own individual warscroll (they all have unique names). It remains to be seen if these scrolls will be significantly different from each other, but I think this is really neat, and could add a bunch of unique heroes to all our beloved factions.

Does GW have a presence @ Gencon? I know they are showing off stuff @ Nova Open, but I'd be stoked if they were showing shadespire sooner!

I'm camping on the weekend of the 26th...so that is when I expect it to drop.

Love the idea of the Krunkanaut! I was thinking about getting a Gorkanaut and using it as an Ironjawz styled Rogue Idol, and really I just want an excuse to get one.

Well this should be exciting! Are we thinking this will be a boxed release (rule book, models, maybe terrain if we are lucky), or just a book release? If Shadow War is anything to go by we could be surprised, but quite frankly I have no idea what to expect from GW these days.

This makes me so happy-glad. Everyone is probably right, it's probably a faction for Shadespire, which is totally expected. I would LOVE for it to be more confirmation on Hasting's rumour, but I will gladly support any and all children of the Great Horned Rat in the Mortal Realms.

Sure! So we had an event recently where we tested out Hinterlands with 10-12 people, and we have made some modifications that we are hoping will help cut down on some of the, lets say competitive elements of our meta. 1) No Heroes: Crazy I know right? We have decided for this upcoming league to have warbands composed of only units without the hero keyword. This helps cut down on crazy abilities, and from a narrative aspect we thought it would work to have your warband become heroes as the story progresses. We do have a mechanic where you can hire heroes for a game, but they cost gold and are not permanent members of your warband. 2) Knockdown: Borrowing I think from old Mordheim rules, we have a knockdown function where when your wounds are reduced to 0 you are incapacitated, and can do things like crawl at half movement, or have to spend a turn standing up. This again is in response to things like arcane bolt or abilities that just remove models from the game. 3) Reduced ranged attacks: We are only allowing 1/4 of the models in your army to have ranged attacks. Again, helping to mitigate the feels-bad-sies that happens when you face a ranged list. I think that is about it, we wont be testing this format for another week and a half or so, but once we do I will make sure to post an update on what worked/didn't work

My gaming group is hosting Hinterlands nights that run on the off-weeks from our regular escalation/Path to Glory league. We've made a few of our own modifications to help guide some of the list building, which is part of the beauty of AoS and Hinterlands in that we can change rules as we need to and the games still work.

That Skaven rumor from Hastings is enough to satisfy my gnaw-hunger for ratmens for months to come. Just knowing that something is potentially on the way for my favorite little ****** will get me through all the wonderful new stuff that is going to come out between now and then...
