  1. Hahaha that made me 'lol' in my office.... especially as my brother's nickname is Big Hands (for obvious reasons)
  2. Nicely done mate. Great work as always! Where's the chain-whip from? Reminds me of Road Rash on the Megadrive
  3. The guy that is such a boss he doesn't waste time holding on to his Grunta, just wields a second choppa - peak Ironjawz!
  4. the Black Gobbo! It's a grot with his arm arched backwards and a golden beak-thingy on his nose
  5. Just saw @Sangfroid 's post, opened up Scrollbuilder and made the same list, with a slight tweak. Feels a bit all or nothing but definitely looks fun to play! Let us know how it goes guys. If we're lucky, Gorefist might also get a slight points reduction in GHB2...? 6. I went for the dry-brush! Finding a balance as always isn't it. I managed to get my 2k to an 'ok' standard for Heat 2, but need to go back and improve it quite a bit. Not even looked at weathering yet, which I'd like to. I know what you mean, and that's a very good point about unit sizes and selling boxes. Thinking about it, it would also disrupt a lot of the inner game synergies - I'd imagine a lot (if not all) of the warscrolls have been written with standardised unit sizes in mind
  7. Great news you're working on your Gruntas. Really hoping GHB2 makes them that bit more viable, would love to squeeze an extra 3 back into my list (I've got 3 finished, 3 basecoated, 3 primed!) I've seen rumours (....) that GW might be taking AoS back to a points-per-model system. What are your thoughts on this Chris? I'm not sure either way to be honest, I enjoy the min-unit pointage we currently have, makes it more straight forward, but for armies like ours maybe a points-per-model system would work well?
  8. 40k drop whilst the TV team are at SCGT would be bit weird wouldn't it?
  9. Deathrattle battletome, including Deathlords maybe? Can't see why they'd just randomly re-box the standard skeles for no reason. Usually happens as part of a re-release. Also, genuinely not sure of this - does 'no longer available' on GW website hold different connotations to 'temporarily unavailable' ?? Would a re-box just warrant the latter, whereas the former sounds a bit more... terminal?
  10. Right on! And as @Chris Tomlin said Ironjawz in particular have that Uruk Hai feel about them. By LotR lore, Orcs are warped versions of Elves anyway, so bows ahoy! Lurtz was the leader of the scouts Saruman sent out and he looked a boss (heh) with a bow.
  11. Apologies if this is old news, but the Death skeletons are unavailable on the website (to be replaced with the Shadespire ones????!)
  12. I think this has probably already been said comprehensively in this thread, but I think terrain has taken a very different route now from oldhammer. It's less to do with what it actually is and what shape/size/feature it manifests as on the table, but more to do with what type of terrain it's been rolled as (mystical, deadly etc). Rolling for terrain is both terrifying and exciting, as it can dictate so much - you've not even started playing yet and dice-rolls are rocking the cradle. I admit, it can be a bit annoying when a bunch of Kurnoths shoot you from the opposite end of the board, through 4 or 5 Citadel woods that your opponent conveniently didn't fix the leaves to... but the meta is a lot less to do with 'can you hide from your opponent', and a lot more to do with 'can you tactically manage who your opponent shoots at, and still respond adequately' etc. LOS creeps up again with spells, often because wizards are smaller than shooters or artillery. But again, this comes back to the fact that although AoS may only be 4 pages of rules, it's incredibly tactical, and very punishing if you make mistakes (which is a good thing!).
  13. Haha! Good point. **some point in the near future, as in soon, but probably not this afternoon... Am I right in thinking every single Start Collecting box has had at least ONE unit from pre-AoS? Always had the feeling that the price-point for those boxes heavily revolved around shifting at least 1 or 2 older units at a decent discount. Think this is probably why, at least so far, there's been no Fyreslayer box Edit: Starter set armies (SE & BB) do of course, have their own Start Collecting boxes to be fair.
  14. A player at Warhammer World at the weekend, seemed to know a lot of the staff there etc - reckoned a new Death release at some point. No idea if he had any basis for it or not though! That anchor they showed on Warhammer Community not long ago sure did look bone-y .....
  15. It'd be sad if this was it for the Ironjawz, they're definitely popular enough for expansion and I don't really see them as pigeon-holed in any particular direction (other than being heavily armoured) - I imagine it's probably less that people don't think a Brute should wield a crossbow, more that they don't want them to (if they're being honest)! Can't blame them, Brutes are fearsome enough as it is... Either way, I do think having access to different types of troops is pretty key for this kind of game, and ranged is obviously where we lack. You'd imagine GW can see that and would want to rectify it. Your Spear Chukka idea sounds ace - looking forward to that. Also liked the idea of a Brute hunched over like a Gorilla on all fours, with a Doom Diver contraption strapped to his back - grots running around gearing it up. Speaking of which, I've got some bits on the way to get that Ironblaster conversion lined up - will throw up some photos when it finally materialises.
  16. CrossBrute looks awesome. GW needs to get on this asap Shaman is really nicely executed as well mate, love the smoke - seen a lot of different approaches to it but you can't beat a nice toxic green!
  17. Also: Always liked the idea of converting one of these badboys so it's a Brute at the back (and maybe even a Grunta pulling it if possible!). Could definitely see some ramshackle blackpowder artillery making its way into an Ironjawz force:
  18. This is ace! I've been on TGA since it's inception but only really properly started using it since I began my Ironjawz journey toward the end of last year. These batreps and whatnot are invaluable for a relatively new greenskin player - just wanted to say cheers mate, massively appreciated (same goes for TBS) If I ever remember to make notes during/after a game, I may well stick a batrep or 2 of my own up. I'm terrible at remembering games - the details disappear within a few days sadly!
  19. Looks awesome dude! Got a feeling with 5+ to hit I'd have pretty quiet shooting phases Absolutely terrible at rolling dice! Would have to make up for it in quantity of shots or something I reckon. How about a multi-crossbow type? Like this:
  20. Hi guys, Friend is asking: With the house rule of 6s always hitting - will that stop the masque of slaanesh's 'dodge' ability if the dice rolled for that is a six?
  21. Hot topic at the moment and can't see anything regarding it in the pack - are command traits/relics being rolled for each round, selected each round, or selected before hand with lists? Cheers in advance!
