  1. Yeah, Zilfin for the Battleline and the extra movement. I fear that there will be a situation where it maybe better to run the extra 6" since fly high forces us to stay atleast 9" away from enemy unit. Some of my regular opponents are pretty good with screening... I also kinda like the Admiral command trait. That trait plus the mask-hailer looks like a good support piece. Barak-Nar would also be an option, but then I should probably take atleast 3 heroes.
  2. I think it was confirmed to be a fake? I have to admit, it looks very convincing ...
  3. What does a good 2000 point list build around 2 frigates and 1 Ironclad looks like? I was thinking: This leaves me 690 points. My plan is to rush forward with the frigates, trying to claim objectives with Arkanauts early on. The Ironclad and Frigates would then try to pick out heroes and support pieces. But after that? In regards to heroes I was thinking an Admiral with the Zilfin trait and the CA artefact plus a Navigator for anti-magic capabilities. Im not sure about what to put inside the Ironclad. 15 thunderers maybe? Whats about a third hero? (An endrinmaster maybe to keep the Ironclad in fighting shape?). What about a few Riggers?
  4. I really cant say what we'll see at which preview. So far we have evidence for Sons of Behemat, Seraphon and Pointy Aelfs for AoS, 2 already announced but not shown Psychic Awakening Books plus a new Custodes Codex and another PA Book "Engine War" for 40K. There is a lot of stuff and I have no idea how GW is going to present that. There is a block function. You can ignore users with just a few clicks. I did that for 2-3 people here and my whole experience improved by a lot.
  5. No, the post release FAQ only has erratas and designers commentary. Point changes are done with the big winter FAQ and the summer Generals Handbook .
  6. Talking about FAQs. Shouldnt ours drop soon?
  7. Now, the question remains, are they going to be Destruction? Destruction deserves a new faction. But if GW wants to replicate the Knights success they have to aim for the biggest audiance.
  8. There was also the Astrolitic Monolith a few months ago. We havent seen that yet. Maybe that was the Seraphon Terrain and the main release had been pushed back?
  9. I think Pikes are pretty useful. They get +1 to hit around an objective or with that one CA, they have some rend and D3 damage. You only lose one 9" pistole, so I think its a straight upgrade.
  10. We got on average 1 book a month. Some months nothing as we got a few double book months.
  11. Its january and we already got 2 books! I wouldnt call that "dragging their heels"
  12. Sure. You dont have to chose him to shoot if you dont want to. Fighting in melee is mandatory, shooting isnt,
  13. I take sword/shield guardsmen in CoS for 80 points. For 10 points more I get the same melee attack plus a lot more shooting. Worth it to me.
  14. First of all: Id like to see something unique to the Mortal Realms, not just a revival of the old models/look. I always prefered the completly new stuff to updated models (Fyreslayers, Kharadrons, Idoneth, the new Daughters stuff). Now coming to units: Id like to see a mixed close combat/missile unit as basic battleline option (showing off Aelf skill by mastering multiple weapons) Flying heavy cav. Decorated knights (keeping with the Hysh aesthetic) riding flying feathered beasts (eagle-adjacent maybe?) A unit of mages (its Teclis army afterall)
  15. We had that once… Joking aside, heavy flying cavalry (Hawks, Eagles, whatever) would be a good pick for a High-Elves-revival faction. They could combine the elite cavalry aspect of the old dragon princes with the eagle theme of the old Asur, while still creating something unique to the Mortal Realms.
  16. Yeah, im in the same situation. I didnt get a game in yet but im toying with a Zilfin Iron Sky Squadron and a Ironclad. Urbaz is a close second for me as I played them a lot with the last book.
  17. I play Hammerhal. So I was asking because I would have liked to have that for my units too, haha
  18. Where does the re-rolling one to wound come from?
  19. Which lists? Most Hallowheart armies only have 1 or 2 shooting units at best. And most of them have to stand still to get most out of their abilities. The Blood and Glory winner only had a unit of crossbows and one unit of handgunners. Magic outside of Hallowheart is much weaker. Doing both is hard for CoS.
  20. I just looked up the entry. They are called the "black marines". They all wear black obsidian armour carapaces, independent of any sky-port affiliations. They were formed to fight "non-physical entities" and are equiped with scatter-shot rifles and anti-ethereal equipment like, celestium burst-grenades, aether-vapour projectors or scintillator lenses.
  21. The lore has a number of anti-magic things, but they are all about negating/destroying magic. There is even a dedicated anti-endless spells Thunderer squad with black obsidian armor (I gonna paint 5 of them soon. I really like the idea!)
  22. I played the The Watchtower a lot back when AoS first dropped (months before the first Generals Handbook). Here a few reports from people that played it: https://www.ordofanaticus.com/topic/27411-battleplan-the-watchtower/
  23. In the Legions of Azgorh Battletome: https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/fw_site/fw_pdfs/aos_warscrolls/warhammer-aos-legion-of-azgorh.pdf Blackshard armour is one of their two battle traits (so avaible for every Legions of Azgorh model).
  24. 1. That should work, but some Skyport footnotes target their respective skyport keyword. So the Barak-Mhonar footnote would be useless in a Barak-Zilfin army. 2. Wait for the FAQ but I think its supposed to be only for that phase.
