  1. You're all wrong and it couldn't be more obvious, it's some kind of amazing jewelled chest brooch strapped across the glistening, chiselled torso of a 90% nude stormcast eternal. Probably a new semi-nude chamber. I foresee 3 new kits, a hero the Knight-pectoris together with an elite unit of Nudinators and finally an extra big boy the Handsomator (equivalent to a 40k Knight in size) who might count as a monster in pitched Battle, or have the keyword, but will be far too aesthetically pleasing to ever be called a monster by anyone. From a distance, silhouetted, they probably do look like a herd of strong wild horses so I can see the mixup here.
  2. If you look at SC stats for big tournaments a max average of 3 wins is kind of clearly where they sit. However, and I find this interesting, SC are kind of skewed stats wise based on a lot of people rolling up to tournaments to have fun with whatever models they have (non-optimised lists). SC are a popular faction and (often) an intro faction to many, so you would see a lot of these "I took what I have" lists when compared to other factions. So my suggested take away is that SC will (rarely) place top 10% in bigger tournaments but the true potential of the best lists and a means of measuring how much variety we have (that performs well) are kind of hidden in the global stats.
  3. I mean I dont strongly feel that it should, I just feel that if one model is added (very frequently) to every competitive list that did well, it might not be the best for the game or playing the game. Or it might increase the risk that the model is nerfed for the pure allegiance because of it's use as an ally (see Stonehorn nerfs of yore). Reminds me a bit of how predominant the party wagon (hurricanum) was for a while. That time might come again post GHB2019 actually.
  4. This is always fun, the Prime is like playing poker where your opponent knows you have an Ace and you can slap them for free when you play it in a hand. They get jittery.
  5. I love the Prime. I think the if the Prime got a small points tweak he'd make quite a lot of lists. If you were to make the model itself far too tasty you'd see it allied into all Order lists which I guess isn't ideal. So any (significant) buffs would need to push the points above ally threshold. I've been running a very silly list with the Prime in a while now and I'm (still) painting up a Drakesworn Templar to either add to the list in place of dracoths and heraldor or to replace the LCoSD with (and maybe work toward the 6 Desolator idea): https://thehonestwargamer.com/aos-list-rundowns/dr-star-drakelove-or-how-i-learned-to-stop-worrying-and-love-the-celestant-prime/ The list falls into the "isn't super competitive but is fun & you can still place well" category.
  6. Does an enraged tabletop gamer generate more heat than a person at rest? Can we gather that excess heat in a store and convert it into electricity?
  7. Yeah I mean, I think there is more than one type of disappointed fan on the boards - those that think the reveal was poor compared to HH or 40k and those that did not get to see what they expected to see. Sometimes the two bleed into each other as well
  8. @swarmofseals well put. I for one feel only sparks of joy when any niche or group (be it game or faction) get new things - and people are getting new things at an unprecedented rate. It's great. I do get the disappointment though. I don't agree but I get it. I think what happens is that people simply see what they want in a lot of rumours. Those silhoutte reveals are the absolute best for this. It's like a rorshach inkblot test. They build an expectation (based on what they want to see) and then watch it get shot down. Disappointment logically follows.
  9. And this is as it should be according to the lore
  10. Folks, we need an update. I mean, Nurgle has almost nothing to compete with the big leagues. I recall those heady days of Jan 2018 when Nurgle had all these fine tools and potential and each release after hammered the weaknesses home. Luckily I've a SC army of around 5000 points to draw from so I've taken Stardrake and Prime lists to tournaments instead. But I want to play my sweet, pink Candyrot! Given a full, new book is likely a while away (we were one of the first 'new' tomes) what could come in GHB 2019 to assist our plight? OR do you just disagree with me and think Nurgle is fine and the competitive potential therein is just untapped (Pure nurgling list)?
  11. Hedgehog stardrakes love them (if you engage the units right and aren't just losing objective points every round).
  12. Exactly, and more so OFF the table. People do weird things when they are worried about the Prime. Still, if they make him better or reduce points I won't complain even if I feel my list is competitive already.
  13. You shut your dirty mouths about the prime he is a literal saint. He's a golden swiss army knife
  14. I do like evocators, and have had success with 5 in my drake / prime lists. I wish i could fit 10 in together with Fulminators
  15. Drake is fine without ignax in most matches this weather. Id avoid evocators entirely (maybe a cheeky defensive 5) without more movement and charge or delivery shenanigans. They are rather slow.
  16. Placed 4th in a 26 person tournament on Saturday passed. Lost to an interesting Slaanesh list in Duality (which I would have hoped to win normally - but choosing 1st turn is key here). Many fiends and 2 princes. Summoning 3 enraputress's. Minus to hit all over. Then won and achieved almost all secondarys against Gavespawn Thunderscorn list with 4 big gribblies and then a shooty SC anvils list with4 ballistae. I took another version of my Prime/LCoSD list: Variations of this list have won me 11 of 16 games over the last 4 tournaments - which is pretty good. The losses I have had also haven't been down to the list itself. I like my approach right now but I do not know how much of it is down to how well I know SC in general as opposed to anything in this list per se.
  17. I really like the LCoSD though but I may magnetise the old LCoSD I built and add a templar rider to try out the Temple Nova Surge could be pretty impactful in certain circumstances.
  18. Now these lists are my jam! I bought 2 more stardrakes and I wanna try: Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals Mortal Realm: Aqshy Lord-Celestant on Stardrake (560) - General - Celestine Hammer - Trait: Staunch Defender - Artefact: Ignax's Scales - Mount Trait: Keen-clawed Drakesworn Templar (460) - Storm Lance Drakesworn Templar (460) - Tempest Axe Knight-Incantor (140) - Spell: Azyrite Halo 5 x Liberators (100) - Warhammer & Shield - 1x Grandhammers 5 x Liberators (100) - Warhammer & Shield - 1x Grandhammers 5 x Liberators (100) - Warhammer & Shield - 1x Grandhammers 10 x Skinks (60) - Boltspitters & Star Bucklers Total: 1980 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 0 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 93 The idea is you eat things and rain stars. I haven't got much further than that strategically.
  19. I think Id like to try this out too - if I'm leaving the hedgehog stardrake behind for the truly unkillable ingax version
  20. Very similar in form to my own list (which I broke down somewhere on these boards previously, but also here) but with a few swaps that make it unique and cool in its own way! I like your style because you remind me of me I dont have plans to paint up aventis or Id try your list out too, though I have considered taking 2 x incantors and the comet in place of the prime or fulminators. I think that -2 to cast is quite cool. Edit/ My next goal for SC right now though is to paint up 2 more Stardrakes. Then I'm trying Lcosd, Celestant Prime and Drakesworn templar and 3 x drakes (maybe 1 LC). Fun!
  21. Eels was bad but I learned. I think if I met again I'd forget one of my objectives totally and screen as I did v stonehorns (even if the lib screens exploded). But then I'd be playing catchup and he could just wait while gaining more points. I think I'd have had more luck actually with a cp run and charge with the drake. Into the eels... But he had screened. Opponent was calculating and scenario was our worst. So all in all no sadness there! Without total commitment the match is totally different but no walk in the park (given he had 2 scryers for deepstrikes too). Stonehorns was just skin of teeth stuff. Haha another excellent opponent. And they're so quick across the board. Next project is to fit 2 drakes and a prime in one list...
  22. The list did pretty well at 20 person tournament over weekend. I managed 3rd place: https://tabletop.to/stockholm-slaughter 3 Major wins 1 Minor win 1 Major loss I lost on total commitment against an 18 offensive eel list. The minor was v 4 Stonehorns on Blood and Glory. I might tweak the list a bit more but it's hard. I may have to separate the Prime (who either saves the day or barely makes up his points) to start experimenting BUT I will say that the more you use the Prime at a tourney, the more uses you start seeing for him.
