  1. Looks like more 40 terrain to me. Though I have an irrational level on annoyance looking at that pic, due to the fact that chain would not likely move in the way they have designed it.
  2. Finally got my Steelhearts completed, pretty happy but still plenty of scope for improvement. The armour highlights especially were not broad enough as i was worried they looked a bit garish, but you cant even see them in the picture. Hope you like them.
  3. Ah cheers both, must have missed that due to drooling over the fancy pictures.
  4. Have we seen what the opposite side of the AoS board will be? the Moonbase board is double sided. Jungle-y ruins and ....?
  5. Very cool, always wanted to do a diorama but never felt i had the skill to pull it off, might buy this when its out for tips. Saw someone share an image on instagram of the original Warhammer quest diorama by Mike Mcvey, so good. (found an article on it here if anyone is inspired by such things)
  6. Yeah It has but that's not the arch I mean. The ruins set has 2 sprues it seems which makes 3 ruins (with a few swappable bits). The battle set looks to have one of these and another sprue with round arches. Means buying the battle set if you want more variation but the ruin set seems to have enough if your not buying multiples of them.
  7. I retract my previous statement. Just seen this in the weekly pre-order preview. Really shows the details on the models better than the box art does. What is obvious though is the ruin-and-board kit has an additional sprue in it with curved windows, not just the square ones included in the ruins box. This is what they did on the moon-base kit, I believe because that specific sprue is bigger than the box they use for the separate ruins, I presume this is the same situation here.
  8. Yep this matches my thoughts also. These Azyrite walls have more in common with the super thin original LotR ruins. I've just built a few pieces of scenery with those and think I'll stick with them over this new stuff. The 40k Moon Base kits have depth to them, details. These Azyrite are so plain, no specific detail to them, where are the big icons or symbols?. I guess it stops them looking repetitive if you have a lot but it just doesn't have the interest I was expecting from new AoS specific scenery. If they do more kits and this matches the style then I could see myself change my mind, but as a standalone kit I'm a little disappointed (may change when I see them in the flesh of course).
  9. Im a regular at Newcastle Warlords club in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. Inspired by the effort of Chris Tomlin and friends in their 'From Ember to Inferno' escalation campaign a few of us, driven by TalesOfSigmar, have decided to develop our own campaign 'War in the North'. We start 1st March with first games 1st April (ish). I will be using this escalation to build the foundation of my Tempest Eye force, starting with Freeguild Guard and a few Heros, adding in some Eldritch Council and Swifthawk Agents. I have started pulling together the parts for the first units already so I will share progress as soon as im able. My painting in the past has been basic and a little rushed for events etc. I am really looking forward to having more time and focus to paint and really push myself. If you have done anything similar please share your experiences, id love to hear them. Rich.
  10. Yeah someone else just showed me a similar picture, guess I should really get building my mechanicus terrain.
  11. Obviously cant tell the size of it but it looks low res molding compared to miniatures, more like scenery. And very clock like, not at all in the aesthetic of Ad-Mech, no where near enough rivets for starters . Possibly AoS scenery? Looks more like pressure gauges or angle measurements, so Sigmarite artillery? (probably too obvious)
  12. Great ideas. Ha! Seriously I just got the bits to make that exact conversion last week , same for the chaos sorcerer! At least I know they will look good. Love the grot skin, so perfect for those sneaky little gits.
  13. Looks good, not sure why you didnt use aetherspheric endrins to just deploy closer though? Bringing all the extra rigger and arkanaut pistol shots into range would have helped, and with 3 grapnels you can still get the charge range down for the riggers. One thing though, you cant buff the Ironclad (I made this mistake before and was corrected).
  14. I used skymines on one of mine too! Makes it easier to differentiate as I use one as my general.
  15. I dont want to divert the Rumour thread but can someone who subscribes to this tell me if there is an easy way to get the books straight onto my kindle account without the need of a computer to download them? Can you do it on an iphone? Whenever ive bought stuff from BL in the past Ive struggled to actually get the files.
  16. Does WD connect the Lord Celestant to Malign Portents? They didnt on the community release so we've assumed so far he is not connected, ive not got the new WD to check.
  17. Yeah there was something but it was the usual not 'wouldnt it be good to use them like this' sort of speak, so I dont really remember. There were lots of questions about Malign Portents and the new direction and when would we see other GA heros and they said next year (so in my mind that confirms this is a 'herald' and hopefully not the case my memory has got it wrong).
  18. No report sorry, but I was there . Do you know where it says 4 heralds specifically? Ive only seen GW refer to them as heros, its only on Spikeybits they say 4 heralds. I still dont think the December SCE is one though, as he was not released with any link to Malign Portents like the other two were.
  19. You mean this lass? https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/11/03/news-codexes-heroes-blood-glorygw-homepage-post-3/ Just read the article and I see it doesnt say that she is the Chaos Herald, but they said it in the seminar. Not the SCE one, he is just a normal release as far as we know.
  20. Not that I recall. I could be pessimistic and point out the UK news yesterday morning was full of news about Venus and Jupiter conjunction visible in the sky the night before ('stars' aligning), but i dont want to spoil anyones hopes and dreams
  21. If we look at the whole purpose of Age of Sigmar its the Stormcast pushing out to discover what is happening in the realms, so the tapestry is being revealed from the perspective of the Stormcast. Tapestry is a good choice of words in this case actually, as thats exactly what they do, write the story from a perspective of one side.
  22. They said in the B&G seminar the new logo was the start of a darker season of Sigmar (season being an unspecified period of time). Upto now the game (realms) have shown their light and good side, now its about showing and building the dark background. The key thing that was repeated often, the good guys might not always be 'that' good. No idea if this will be a new game, armies, or books. But I think its safe to say we will probably see all those in some form.
  23. I just bought my Kharadrons from a shop that did 25% off, saved the wait (and wasted money on stuff i didnt need).
  24. If they do then, lets be honest, its not going to contain the stuff most people want. It will probably have a Navigator, company and a Gunhauler . Be nice if it had company and riggers but that doesnt fit the theme of Start collecting, which is primarily as a start point for new players and not intended as a multiple purchase (or no-one would buy the single kits). Still no rumour of new SC coming though, still just lots of hope-ers
