  1. Corpse Eater is more in-line with the brutish mercenary style Ogres (as opposed to the more monstrous Ogor Mawtribes style). I always liked that style, but mercenaries fit more on the fringe of GA: Order over Destruction. If Cities of Sigmar have some Ogre mercenaries in the style of Corpse Eater, that would be a big win.
  2. I think the big part of their narrative will be based around how/why they were imprisoned and who they want revenge on when they get out.
  3. Primitive race of humanoid deep dwellers. Banished, twisted, barely surviving. Hatred of surface dwellers. Narrative based on pre-banishment relations, wars and grudges? A God's failed experiment? Wearing and wielding insect parts (mandible masks, carapace shields and armour, scythe/fang weapons). Insect cavalry and behemoths. Poison, acid, disease, webbing, summoning attacks/magic. Room for a dreaded ambull crossover?
  4. I think the only way this could be successful is if units could be used in both system. I mean... A lot of heresy stuff is used in 40k. Also, in terms of support heresy was ok at first but took a dive pretty quickly. I'm one of those that wished they never destroyed the old world and was massively opposed to AOS... Now I'm living with it, seeing how they are starting to build the new world and thinking ok this is working... Now this? It is a bit... wierd.
  5. So is the consensus that if you can run a block of 30 Plaguebearers then that’s good, but if you can’t then probably just get more Blightkings? Also, for casting, is a Rotbring Sorcerer recommended over a Poxbringer? And finally, with regards to summoning, how strong is this? What amount of units do people generally end up being able to summon in an average game, and what models do people recommend having on hand for summoning?
  6. Are Plaguebearers worth it? It seems for 40 points more 5 Putrid Blightkings get a lot more done? +10 wounds and more offensive capability. I’ve only just ordered my minis so haven’t played with either yet. How do people use Plaguebearers?
  7. Well this made me laugh more than it should. Leicester currently, always been around the midlands. I think the FB groups are decent, have only just joined though.
  8. Hi, I don't know of any WhatsApp groups (I'm also new!) but there is a big AoS Maggotkin Facebook group. That is international group though, no idea if there is a UK only one. I am UK based.
  9. Considering starting with Maggotkin for a new escalation league, though it is looking like they a considerable initial buy-in cost. I am considering the following: 440pts 720pts 1000pts Alongside these I would probably grab a Feculant Gnarlmaw and a SC! Nurgle Daemons box for summons. I haven't actually played any AoS yet but I've always been a huge Nurgle fan so I was wondering if the above would be any use in actual games. Hopefully looking to get some tips and constructive feedback before buying anything. The main thing I'm worrying about is whether I should be trying to field more models, and also the speed of crossing the board.
  10. Those look great, I’m also interested in how Tamurkhan’s Horde works in AOS 2.0? Can anyone explain it to me? You can have NURGLE and TH allegiance? Thanks.
  11. Hi, where is the information on new batallions and warscrolls? Some people have the battletome?
  12. Yes, the model with lamp/vase is a warhammer anniversary exclusive, available only in stores on the anniversary of the store opening. I think that sucks, and I'm hoping there will be more models available than what we've seen so far. The exclusive miniature is a clampack that makes two variants. So that essentially rules out two miniatures from the preview. I'm also hoping that the other banshee models might be a dual-kit that would allow you to build the Myrmourn variant as well, as they're better in larger units, it would be nice to be able to create different looking models without doing too much converting.
  13. I have to say, Hordes put me off, but I guess if that's their schtick it's a solid GW business decision. I was hoping the resurrection was a solid way to represent endless legions without resorting gigantic mounds of plastic. I'll stick with my game-plan and run Hexwraiths and Spirit Hosts, maybe some Grimghast Reapers if I need another battleline. But I don't think I'm going to run any units >20 models. I don't have it in me. Hopefully that won't nerf me too hard, will just have to wait and see what the Battletome brings!
  14. Ok... now the next miniature reveal needs to be Nagash on a winged Panthor.
  15. I was just about to post the same thing. Love it, even if Nagash is channelling his inner Lich-King. Lady Olynder looks particularly awesome here, I'm wondering what a more ethereal scheme would look like on her.
  16. I think this says it all, also, I'm unsure if the theme is really fitting so close to Dread Solstice, it's a bit repetitive. I'm inclined to think that this could just be a local thing, that is, something made and put on by the store.
  17. I have to say, not one of their better videos...
  18. I think if Isabella is the Mortarch of Grief, then Vlad will be in the new Black Coach... Though I think it would be better if neither of these happened. Scythe-on-pegasus person is a mystery.
  19. It’s both awesome and underwhelming at the same time. Here I thought they might have demo tables of AOS 2.0 with endless spells and new units set up ?
  20. Today is the day of the GW future seminar at UKGE. Anyone attending today?
  21. It will be a great plot-twist if the Necron actually saves them from the Space Marine. Given that Necrons 2.0 seem to have personalities and are freed from the limitations of their command protocols, there may be some dynasties ready to cling on to reminders of their organic past.
  22. This latest development did have me facepalming and checking my calendar to see if it was April 1st. Now, I haven't read any of the books yet (I don't know if there are excerpts available), but the packaging and illustrations certainly give off a 'my little stormcast' vibe. Fair enough, this may draw a crowd, but is it cool enough to keep them? If this is someones first glimpse into the Warhammer universe, I wonder how it will affect the way they think about it in the future. Will this be a toned down yet honest representation? Or will this be a complete rework of the universe that does not remain true to the core aesthetic and philosophy of Warhammer? It's a fair comment that someone made about these two (seemingly inconsistent) lines (kid friendly and adult) can co-exist in harmony as distinct products for separate demographics... but is it the kind of introduction to the universe that will create a long-lasting impression and new generations of, not just players, but genuine enthusiasts?
  23. Now *THAT* would have made a perfect boss character for the new Warhammer Quest expansion... Missed opportunity IMO.
  24. ++ MOD EDIT ++ Please stick to the topic ++ That piece definitely looks like part of a scenic base. My original thought was probably part of another 40k character box.
  25. Interesting stuff, wierdly have yet to see any battalions featuring any of the new units though? I presume there are some...
