  1. I dont know where I read it, but I thought they were missing a keyword? Something about not being nurgle mortals on the top of my head. Edit: nvm, I was thinking of the wrong unit. Really cool find! Easy to turn into a rat ogre too! XD
  2. Keep in mind that a chaos sorcerer can buff your stuff greatly and helps with dispelling. I would suggest one since you are likely to have a large unit alive.
  3. Nice write up, I think the price on rat ogres is fine for their damage output though. Also, gutter runners do not benefit from verminus buffs since they lack the clan verminus keyword.
  4. Loctite power flex, specifically power flex for that matter. Its a super glue that does not become brittle. Creates a bond that is stronger than the plastic these things are build out of. I have glued a broken sword back with loctite and the hand ended up bending before the sword had a chance to break off again. Takes a while to glue them with that stuff though. Try balancing the stem onto the eel for a good 15 minutes before touching it. I use paint bottles to balance stuff.
  5. Awesome, thank you for the info! Now to find some lists where these wizards would fit into nicely! ^^
  6. I see, so does it even cost ally points? Because if not, it would be quite fun siding in an incantor or two to cast it
  7. Whats volturnos his function in this list? I would suggest dropping him for a royal court battalion
  8. I think they made the wizards expensive so people wont ally them in over their normal wizards. Its the only reason I can think of. On a side note: can you ally in a comet endless spell?
  9. For the vexillor I indeed meant to write ability instead of command ability. I personally have had little success pulling off a turn 1 charge with units such as dracoths and the likes, so not sure if Dracolines can make it in the first turn. Crossing the entire table + charge is quite the feat to pull off in 1 turn on a 4x6. How do you personally handle that situation? I like the Hallowed knights idea though, its pretty much a certain 4" run and charge with the worst possible rolls, quite useful.
  10. The dracolines are clearly designed to be on the field instead of scion-ed to empower themselves and then go in for an early charge, plus less models are easier to get into range I'd assume. Fully buffed they do similar stuff to normal evocators for the points, but it requires quite a bit of planning and luck to get the monstrous claws high enough to become significant. Personally I think if you just play a big unit of 10+ evocators on foot alongside a vexillor, you can just empower them and then shoot them over to the scion squad with the Vexillor's ability and still be able to do most of the tricks the dracolines can. If your gavriel is already in place you should be able to get a decent chance on a succesful charge. Dracolines can reroll charges however... Which gives them that reliability bonus. I personally think that gryph chargers are probably doing the same job better though, generally they can move much further with ride the winds aetheric and when buffed can do some serious damage too.
  11. If you look at the numbers in terms of damage and defence vs older units and how the product was distributed as a whole, it really feels like it was a path to make the most money and to make sure most people yet again starts over collecting an almost entirely new army. People who already owned stormcast eternals and want the best units likely bought soul wars boxes since stuff was superior, only to discover units are incomplete which means you need more soul wars boxes. Only to discover that 2 weeks later the new sequitors and evocators in multipart kits have better weapons and a new updated warscroll, so either you stick with your slightly lesser units, convert them or... buy even more of the same stuff reboxed. Which will likely end up being nerfed seeing how OP some of the stuff is right now. I bought 8 soul wars boxes total for myself and people around me, but I had 3 boxes with defects. Broken miniatures in 1, missing sprues in another and 1 had 3 duplicate sprues and everything else of stormcast missing, Gw was kind enough to replace it, which is a plus shopping with them, but it does show they really had to rush products out the door to keep up with the demand if such errors keep slipping through. I felt quite embarassed having to contact them over and over that more stuff was broken or missing yet again though. I wanted to buy more soul wars stuff to split and trade online, but I dont dare to contact them a 4th time if stuff is broken again. Kind of what is stopping me from buying any new stuff right now actually.
  12. I see! Learning something new everyday on this forum. Thank you for the info, because I would have misplayed it horribly.
  13. I guess so, I was thinking he might have suicide the tidecaster to swap to a king general, but I suppose most players wont fall for that.
  14. That is great to hear! How did it go? Did you manage to get any king buffs off? What kind of list did you play?^^
  15. I see :o, that is interresting, perhaps it is time to build some eternal guards I've been putting in storage for ages haha.
  16. I think forgotten nightmares wont trigger with normal eternal guard, so the enemy can still shoot at whatever they are trying to screen. So not sure if that would work into our favour.
  17. I see! Nice to hear :). I generally use some thralls as bubble wrap for my leaders since shield eels leave quite a bit of gaps. Wish they could get into combat more often though =P
  18. The leviadon is quite good and you can generally fit in an allopex if needed. The aspects are not as good as other options, but considering how fragile the spear is, that is probably for the best. Miniatures that break easy are no fun to carry arouns after all
  19. It is sometimes hard to pull off with stuff such as deepstriking stormcast eternals shooting from sides or behind, but I guess a unit of shield eels could do the trick. (I am yet to build mine, mostly used the turtle to hide models).
  20. The extra lost model is all nice and fun, but you are looking at 1 model or so, which is 1 to 2 wounds. Which if included into the calculation is only anothet 0.33 to 0.66 damage, still underwhelming in my opinion. Even if so, regular evocators kill more, so the opponent would lose more models because of that as well, so that argumentation is flawed at best. Also I did mention they can start on the table and get where they need to be quickly.
  21. I think the trade off is too much and even with the extra attack on monstrous claws you are looking at a 0.45 damage increase per 100p and a "wasted" command point. I think the role these dracoline units can fulfil is being deployed on the field instead of scions, while on foot evocators can be deepstriked. They are fast and can get where they need to be quickly. There are cheaper units to fulfil that role though. Like a ballista on field + unit of evocators. Same for me! I wish it were otherwise. Absolutely love the models.
  22. Dracolines about 2.9 damage per 100 points and on foot about 6 damage per 100 points. Quite underwhelming.
  23. Foot evocators are better as far i recall. About 30% better I think, but I will calculate them again later on and get back to you.
  24. That sounds nice. Did you manage to see the games? I am curious how they managed to get them in range. From personal experience opponents tend to know they are super strong and shoot them down turn 1 XD
  25. I actually started the army because I loved the look of the soul render and infiltration tactics. Soulscryer + 30 thralls and a soul render seemed so cool on paper to deep strike, lol. I think GW will update thralls at some point. At least I hope they do
