  1. Just please no "shrines" or "worshipping", the whole prayer to Khorne concept is already so shoehorned. Make it a pile of freshly severed heads with a planted banner, something practical, and move away from the religious tendencies. Pretty please GW
  2. Based on previous announcement-release timeframes, does anyone have an idea on when the new Blades of Khorne-book will be released?
  3. Skullfiend Tribe for sure. I'm currently using Skulltake Batallion anyway as I'm trying to stay away from anything involving Slaughterpriests. Extra help against monsters will be helpful as I don't really like the looks or mechanics of Wrathmongers either . Plus I painted my models to pretty much the same colour scheme by coincidence lol. When it comes to subfactions in other books, how many units are mandatory in general? I'm currently one Skullreaper unit short of the full batallion, would be nice to not have to buy and paint another one.. I can also imagine we will get a more summon-based subfaction (thinking 40k Word Bearers style).
  4. I for one can definitely see anti-magic becoming a strong(er) niche for Khorne in the new book, especially with the new endless spells things. Also as a mortals-only player who refuses to play Gore Pilgrims (because ****** mainstream) I'm feeling very hopeful with the prospect of redesigns of the batallions
  5. Being unfamiliar with how the stormhosts/temples work, could you elaborate a little on them and what it could mean for us?
  6. Might've missed something, but what would be the benefits of getting the Daemon keyword on these units? Re the Bloodsecrator, I can see that happen too but unless they give him mobility I can't see how he'll be used much anymore. 2 Aspiring Deathbringers could be more flexible. Also, although we've seen a few changes here and there in the game, wasn't the AoS policy to not change Warscrolls much?
  7. Did we see any hints at a release date? I guess we can expect the army mechanics to change quite a bit, especially since the factions are becoming more specialized. Being a primarily mortal player, I'm very happy about that. Compared to the beastmen herds, what do you think we can expect? The endless spells phenomena, based on their looks, what do you think they'll do? The axe looks damagey, to begin with..
  8. I've been tinkering on how to equip my Juggerlord. What do people think about Anraheir's Claw from Realm of Ghur? On a 6+ to wound it does 2 extra damage, can be useful with his charge ability?
  9. I'm not a very experienced player, I've played a lot of 1k battles but am just starting to play 2k battles with my army (slow painter/collector). I run the Skulltake batallion, so I'm stuck with the 18" Bloodsecrator bubble (I stick the Asp Deathbringer to units I need to move). The Gore Pilgrims seems like the go-to competitive batallion, and probably allows for more offense, but I just don't like it fluffwise. Even though they're good units, I find the idea of priests, prayers and temples very un-Khorney, regardless of the AoS fluff. I've started to find that my army works best as a counter-charge army rather than a pure offense army. Most of the games I tend to get the first round, so I just set up in order to give my opponent a long charge range (increase his chances of failing) and to activate as many units as possible if he reaches me. This then means I can handle more of his army in a piecemeal manner, and start being more offensive with objectives etc in turn 2-3. I've found this to be a pretty good approach for armies who don't run Gore Pilgrims. Or rather, I've found running off with individual unprotected units to be suicide, hehe.
  10. Also don't forget that they get to pile in and attack before they die. I've found this makes them a priority for the opponent sometimes as he doesn't want them to strike twice in a turn (once on their own, again when removed). But yes, keep them in the backfield inside the Bloodsecrator bubble, you want them with atleast one extra attack.
  11. How do you guys handle Nighthaunt? I've been pretty mauled by my friend over the last games, especially the bladegheist revenants are really hard to knock out. They're damn fast too, especially with Cogs.
  12. Can we expect to see new warscrolls for them, you think? Considering it's a "new" release? Or is the general consensus that they are fine as they are?
  13. On the subject of Reapers: A maxed out Skulltake batallion with 2x5 Skullreapers and 1x10 as a grand hammer. Complement with buffy characters. Easily fits in 2000p. What do you think?
  14. So in my continued search for good looking alternatives to the Khorgorath I came across these. My army is more neutral/oldscool themed too. Their size is a bit hard to tell, especially without the base, but what do you think? Would you have a problem with it in a friendly game or laidback tournament? https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-SE/The-Wolf-kin-of-Russ
  15. My feeling is GW got a bit carried away with Mortal Wounds as part of the game. They've used it as a lazy way to make armies competitive, which has led to an inflation of Mortal Wound-causing abilities in the game in general. Hopefully they're trying to address this now, although they should've been more pro-active with it.
  16. So, being a bit of an oldschooler I'm not a big fan of the whole priest/prayer/worship thing going on in Khorne right now. While Gore Pilgrims definitely seems to be the best battalion I personally find the concept rather un-Khorney. Skulltake on the other hand I like much better, so I've decided to use that battalion in my army. I'm wondering though, how to best complement its smashyness? I've looked at running an Aspiring Deathbringer and Juggerlord behind them, for example, but now that I think of it I'm not sure I'll have enough command points to activate both abilities each round. Suggestions? /Bjornas
  17. Perhaps just a misty grey? Keeping it 'natural' in a sense. Love your work!
  18. Not sure if this has already been discussed, but - Gorecleaver: "any wound rolls of 6 made with this weapon inflict a number of mortal wounds equal to the weapon’s Damage characteristic instead of being resolved normally." I am looking at the latest errata but as far as I can see there is no edit with "any wound rolls of 6 or more made with...". Does that mean it only procs on sixes then? I'm specifically interested in how it works with the Juggerlord's weapon and his +1 to wound on the charge ability. I'm trying to decide whether to go with the Gorecleaver or the Ghur weapon which gives +2 dmg on a 6+ to wound. What do you think?
  19. Hey guys, sorry to post yet another armylist but I'd love some feedback on this list I'm building towards. I want to have more of a mortal barbarian/oldschool Chaos Warrior theme than a hyper aggro Bloodbound theme in the army (my colour scheme is even brass/black metallic rather than the standard gold/bright red scheme). I paint alot more than I play, but my gaming circle is also not hyper competitive as far as I know. However, I've spent far too much time painting this army to have it not pack any punch at all so, I'd like to hear your comments on it. Allegiance: Khorne Home Realm: Ghur Lord of Khorne on Juggernaut 140 -Artifact: Anraheir’s Claw (Realm Artifact, 6+ to wound = +2 dmg) Aspiring Deathbringer 100 -Artifact: Collar of Khorne Slaughterpriest 100 -Killing Frenzy Bloodsecrator 140 Bloodstoker 80 10 Blood Warriors 200 -2x Goreaxes -Gorecleaver 10 Chaos Warriors 180 -Hand weapons /Shields 10x Bloodreavers 70 -Ripper axes 10x Bloodreavers 70 -Ripper axes 3 Skullcrushers 140 -Glaives 5x Chaos Knights 160 -Hand weapons 5x Skullreapers 170 -Deamon weapons -Soultearer 5x Skullreapers 170 -Deamon weapons -Soultearer Khorgorath 90 Battalion: Skulltake Battalion 190 Command points: 2 Allies: 340/400 Points: 2000/2000 My plan is to have the Knights and maybe the Juggers act as a fast anvil for the boosted infantry to hammer down on (I know handweapons on Knights aren't optimal, they're already painted though and they look damn cool with them too). For any bigger threats I think the Juggerlord can be a nice help, as his artifact synchronizes nicely with his abilities. I opted for a Collar of Khorne on the Asp. Deathbringer to further my magic defense. As said, not hyper competitive local scene as far as I see it but I still want to be able to dish out some damage. Let me know what you think Best regards, Bjornas
  20. Modelling question: Has anyone tried putting Bloodreaver heads (in particular the helmeted ones) on Blood Warrior bodies? It seems they have different necks, do you think it could work with some greenstuff? Scale-wise okay too?
  21. Friend, I suggest you don't base your emotional wellbeing on this hobby, and even less what some people on the internet are hypothesizing about the current state of your army. Even if an army is considered good or bad here, you can still win or lose with it yourself. No local club meta is the world championships anyway. Enjoy this hobby for more than just owning what is considered the 'best' army (without necessarily knowing how to win with it).
  22. Does anyone have suggestions for an alternative Khorgorath model? I'm considering getting one in my army, but I find the model sooo ugly and it doesn't fit with my Mortal/"realistic" theme. I try to avoid the over-the-top feel of modern Khorne in general. Maybe use the Daemon Prince as a basis and work from there?
