  1. On a slight tangent a lot of character models were discontinued for the arrival of CoS are Freeguild really only going to have leaders mounted on Griffons? Also Freeguild come on 10 man sets so I’d expect them to be beefed up to 20 man sets. How about this for a crazy idea what if they chucked in a sprue of thunderers instead of extre human handgunners for a CoS missile troops set? Unlikely but it would fit with the narrative
  2. Gitmob are probably the only example of removal from the rules, I did say “majority” not all. Theres plenty of models with both Legends and AoS rules. There’s no particular precedent to your claim on that score. May or may not be the case we’ll have to wait and see.
  3. I could certainly see Chaos Knights and Marauders being discontinued. The Knights have been largely supplanted by flashier cavalry Bloodchrushers, Blightlords Etc. Same with Marauders and the god specific dudes and the Warcry stuff. I already use my twohanded weapon Marauders as Bloodreavers. The same may be true for the vanilla Chaos warriors but I’d wait to see what Darkoath brings on that score. We are seeing the Order cut occurring with Cities of Sigmar, the Death and Destruction ones have already happened so Chaos may have a bit of a trim. Of course in the majority of case discounted production has not meant removal from the rules
  4. I’m very excited for this release I’ve been playing mixed Jawz and Splitterz for a while. The Power of the Waaagh mechanic is something I’m keen on seeing. Waaagh energy powering the Orruks has been something that’s mentioned in the narrative but beyond Rogue Idols and the command ability it’s not been largely explored rules wise.
  5. Yeah Greatswords over swordmasters is fairly easy nice newish plastic kit over very old 2d looking metal/resin but wasn’t just greatswords there’s also Executioners and Wildwood Rangers. Massive redundancy in the old elf ranges they all had a spear unit, they all had an archer unit, a double handed weapon unit etc even more so with Dark/High Elves. At least shield Stormcast (Liberators) only have one kit and Warscroll for example.
  6. Defo the rockets, angle the barrel up and its a howitzer. The model comes with shell rather than shot anyway. With a little modelling you could even make it into a mortar
  7. They’re in the Warscroll Compendiums which are still available on the App. Though for anything I’d say just speak with your TO or opponents I’ve never had an issue with count as or conversions but I am careful not to model for adavantage
  8. Yeah there is, there was even a list of suggested count as units. I’ve used (appropriately modelled, based, and painted) counts as in WHW tournaments, independent events and on Warhammer Tv.
  9. Pretty close to all the discontinued models will “count as” as units that are staying which will make them work as part of the Cities of Sigmar book which means people will still be able to use those models. Of course that assuming keyword changes which means that they no longer work in their current factions. There is precedent for discontinued models/faction to remain in the rules system. In fact most of them have the only ones who seem to have totally vanished are the Gitmob. The Greenskins are still a full faction and the GH19 was released after they were discontinued. There’s plenty of precedent for these models to remain usable as themselves for at least another year and for longer as “counts as”
  10. Bloodbowl Orc models with weapons added do a good job (sport haven’t got any photos to hand of mine). They only really work for Choppa and Shield or double Choppa equipped ones though.
  11. I’m loving the potential in the Contrast paints. I believe they will work really well with the existing system as well. I’ve been playing around with Hexwraith flame as it appears to be the closest thing to Contrast paints in the existing range and it works really well with washes/glazes/drybrushing to produce a fine finish in a shorter time than painting as normal. A much better finish than current speed painting techniques
  12. I’d have a look at the Warhammer Legends stuff GW has done for converting WFB to AoS rules. Alexander Nygard (@Darth_Alec on Twitter) has written an Endtimes Battletome converting the Endtimes books/rules to AoS rules.
  13. Its early days, here are the beginnings of Da Faifful. A motley mix of Orruks, Hobgoblins and Iron grots. The remnants of the once mighty Waaagh Olrog drawn to the Insignist course for want of direction and in the belief that their fabled leader will return to them.
  14. False equivalence given all WFB armies were usable for AoS and people were still capable of playing WFB (all 8th editions of it if they could find like minded souls). And it wasn’t a few it was every thread or discussion one had about AoS, further more it was often directed at the players not the game. It’s why TGA exists.
  15. They were all Battletomes that got rewrites. You can choose to take a pessimistic outlook as to the chances of KO getting one, but they did get redone.
  16. I’d never say never on that one, Stormcast, Blades of Khorne, Pestilens, FeC and the Rumoured Seraphon rewrites should give a little hope.
  17. Rumours of an Updated Ironjawz Battletome and Greenskknz and Gitmob being withdrawn without a Last Chance to Buy notice 🤔. I smell a Waaagh
  18. The Avatar of the Waaagh returns An Usurper will die Olrog Lives!!
  19. Very interested. 5 games and just round the corner. Ideal
  20. I’m a little late on this but I absolutely love it.
  21. In Gork’s (or Mork’s) name I hope so I’ve spent all year building and painting (and making up) flying Orrukish stuf. I’d love this
  22. Another great event. The Aethermyst/Aetherlab brief fired up everyone’s creative juices in an epic manner. I really enjoyed this year’s build up with the Propaganda posters being an excellent addition. The Aethermy deck and mechanic was hilarious fun and the chunderdome had everyone doing their best Poker Stars impression. The Guildphase might have been better served with a GM/NPC as the Guildmaster to guide it. General Jainus could have stirred the pot right up. The food choices were excellent though I hope the chippie got a thrashing for not sending any salt and vinegar. I’m already plotting in anticipation of an event next year. Olrog Lives!
