  1. It means they corrected a couple of typos with player feedback, that's all.
  2. I doubt it, because the Throne of Decay events involve heavily the Chaos Dwarves. It's more than just releasing a few Chaos resin miniatures, it also means you release the full Chaos Dwarves army as well.
  3. About drilled...having done that in battle, it doesn't take that much of a time to remove them from their tray and put them in the new formation. When you have to move them again, I usually pivot and move a single central miniature before aligning the rest around it in its final position, matching the same formation. What really limits it is the room it takes on the battlefield and close proximity of other units. That's why I'm still not sold on the 8 miniatures front, it's already quite big. 7 is sometimes unwieldy as well.
  4. All of the units have a small lore explanation next to their profiles at the very least. GW will definitely write something about it.
  5. They can also release old metal Karl Franz on griffin and call it "generic empire general". Though for the Empire, I'm honestly expecting them to release the old engineer chariot and maybe the famous "boat on wheels". They'd be quite fitting in a artillery Army of Infamy.
  6. No, but they can retcon other things to release corresponding miniatures. They'll already do it with the Goblin Hewer, since it was mentionned in the preview it will come back with the dwarven hold release. It was originally made during the Storm of Chaos events, meaning much later than The Old World setting. They'll certainly write something like it's actually older and used by Karak Kadrin armies for centuries or whatever. Some may argue some things like the Steam Tanks were already put way sooner than they should have been. While the Throne of Decay "rumor" linking it with TWW3 dlc sales is honestly stupid, I can totally see GW releasing some of their miniatures back in line like Bile Trolls, Skin Wolves, Plague Toads and Plague Ogres for the future Chaos release and its arcane journal. Though so far, they seem pretty tame with FW releases...they're more focused on releasing old GW / Citadel miniatures. I'm expecting an old Chaos Citadel unit as regiment of renown, personnally...
  7. It should work. They also released the old metal giant miniature, which is also much smaller than the plastic giant. It's really a question of what you like best.
  8. I don't need to watch any Valrak video to know Cathay will be coming. I mean, the team already said so in previous interviews and it's litterally present in the core rulebook's background. Just like Kislev. It's just a matter of time, and that's why these "rumors" he talks about are basically making a prophecy about rain coming in the future (if you don't tell the day, you will always be right 100%). He has no one working at GW as a trusted source about that. You don't need one : you just need to read what already exist, watch previous official info on Internet and make extrapolation of what already exists in Total War Warhammer 3 (GW worked with CA on the units, y'know, of course they would use some for the miniature wargame). To show you how easy it is, here is one rumor from my "trusted source" : Kislev will have an Army of Infamy allowing to take 0-1 unit of Tzar Guard as core choice. Watch for this and look how much I will be right about it in the future.
  9. He has been wrong several times in the past. As far as I'm concerned, his "trusted sources" are none working at GW and it's basically guys on the internet using their brain and logic to predict what GW could release in the future. These "Old World rumors" really look like they were taken from a Total War Warhammer channel, honestly. Enjoy his videos, sure, but never believe what he says - it's just entertainment. It's not because he's "right" a few times that he actually has reliable sources. People working at GW have better things to do than risking their job for a youtuber's need for views.
  10. Marauders are cool, but they really overdid it with the dynamic poses IMHO. Even with 25mm bases, some of their models will align / look a bit awkwardly in close order formation. Cavalry should be easier with 30x60 mm. Spawn looks quite big, not sure he'll fit on a 50mm square base. Otherwise, I'm actually thinking he would look great as a Daemon Prince. The hero, you can play it as aspiring champion IMHO. If you convert him a bit (like adding a helm, some mutation that look more "armory"), he would easily count as wearing heavy armor. Maybe not equip it too "armory" in terms of list options like the other warriors of chaos in your army, so that it doesn't get too confusing.
  11. Kislev will be released first before Cathay, anyway. People should stop using Valrak as "serious sources". The guy is a youtuber, he does it for views and doesn't care if what he says is fake or not.
  12. That's litterally what GW tells us to do with units in Armies of Infamy from Arcane Journals in the corresponding notes - suggesting using some kits as base and paint it differently / take parts from kits from other armies. It's really the old school Battle mindset coming back.
  13. If it's just to say that units seen in Total War Warhammer 3 will be in the future TOW army list, that's not a rumor nor a leak : it's basic logic with no risk involved. Besides, your previous rumors are obvious fake. Tying success of Total War Warhammer 3 dlc sales to what GW will decide to release ? Yeah, right. If they didn't do it before with Total War Warhammer 1, they have no reason to do it now. GW doesn't care at all about sales of video games dlc : only Creative Assembly does.
  14. Be ready to get all the old Chaos kits, for they are all coming back. Yes, even the forsaken. Basically, if a unit can be found in AoS and TOW, it will automatically be the old Battle kit, never the new AoS one. That's pretty much their stance on TOW so far.
  15. Main problem of common goblins is that they're impetuous - it can be a problem for the mounted units because they have a wider charge range so they're more prone to be forced to charge something they don't want to (especially if you have one of your precious mages in the unit). There is no black orc in the Troll Horde list, so means to neutralize that are restricted (mainly one of the new magic items), be careful about that.
  16. It's barbarian time ! Conan, what is best in life? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
  17. Spider Riders are "common goblins", that's why they're included in the Troll Horde list. Reason why people suggest to take a mounted shaman is to keep up with the trolls. They can move fast with the spell that gives them +2 Move, and the whole point of this list is to send a wave of stupid monsters right in the enemy front line as fast as possible. Night goblins definitely can hang with trolls, just in the "generic list". Don't forget you can take a Troll Horde as allies.
  18. It has nothing to do to be "less profitable". Reason why you don't launch all 10 core factions on the same day is really a production and logistic question.
  19. Horns of Hashut's Warcry background already give enough info to be practically sure that Chaos Duardins in AoS are very similar to what they were in the Old World.
  20. Completely fair. Here at my club, we're still playing 1000 points armies so that we can already play gradually while learning the rules properly. One new player tested with the Tomb King starter box. Still...I see many similarities with Horus Heresy's launch : at first, there's hype because well it's new and veterans are delighted to see their old game coming back with a few rule tinkering. And then interest is lost gradually as releases are spaced out more and more - and the main issues of such old game systems are cruelly shown in the difficulty to recruit true new blood on long term. Bigger difference with Horus Heresy though is that GW released a lot more of new plastic miniatures, so there was that. They just didn't content themselves with re-releasing old plastic kits and a couple of FW resin kits. Reason why Warhammer Fantasy Battle had such a hard time in that field compared to 40k and was mostly composed of veteran players is not due just to GW's "lack of releases" over the years or fantasy being less popular than SF. It was also the rules, and The Old World is really not making things simpler on that matter. TBH, I'm not optimist on how the game will perform on long term.
  21. Chaos Duardins were always more about shooting and using slaves / horrible war machines than charging in close combat like the Fyreslayers do. IF they both use fire elemental-like beings, they have a very fundamental difference in how they handle them. Chaos Duardins enslave them, Fyreslayers tend to be more respectfull to the elemental nature - like how their relation is with the magmadroths, some clans actually worshipping them. Chaos Duardins will never do that, they think they're at the top of everything and see other species as slaves - mere ressources to spend as fit, without any care for what they will become or how long they'll last.
  22. I think there's no worry to have about that. Chaos Duardins are all about destructive industry, Fyreslayers are more like mercenary (animist) barbarians. Just having the first wearing armors is a big difference in itself. They're actually nothing alike, background or design. The only things in common they have is that they're dwarves, they have blacksmiths and they like fire.
  23. Nostalgia is all about remembering the joy and good times you had when you first had these miniatures. When it was out for the first time, it wasn't seen as ugly as sin but as a great improvement to what they've done before (either on the style or simply the material). That's why when you see them again, you can't help but feel a certain fondness younger ones who didn't experience that can't understand (and rightly so !). Which is why TOW is barely attracting new players, IMHO. Younger generation players have different standards because they don't have nostalgia. That's what some of them can feel that here : those miniatures that are removed, they will be part of their own nostalgia in the future, I'm pretty sure of it. Because they're tied to good times they had when they were still around. Hell, as a Warcry player who started with the very 1st box, I guess I will be feeling the same with all those lovely chaos warbands that are being removed as well from the range. The thing is, for nostalgia to work, it has to be something that's not around anymore in the first place. That's why it's so strongly appealing when they are coming back later. Here, GW decides to remove it and give some kind of "roadmap" of what will becomes of their support in game. What they're not telling is what will replace them in the future. Reimagined miniatures ? New factions ? New packaging ? Who knows, future will tell.
  24. TOW started with Bretonnians and Tomb Kings, 2 miniature ranges that were abruptly removed from sales when AoS started after the death of Battle while the others kept going for a longer while. So far I saw and heard, TOW's success is mainly because old veterans are coming back / take the opportunity to "complete" their old collection with the miniatures they couldn't have at the time. Orcs and goblins, they're not really in the same situation. Their old miniatures were still available in AoS and most of the battalion's content are miniatures that can easily be found in any army already. Plus the core they have are common goblins and orcs, and they're not exactly the most popular to start an effective Orcs and goblins army... I honestly relativise rumors talking about TOW "selling really well". I barely see new players coming to the game, be it on youtube or local club / stores. So far I'm concerned, it's all veterans and people who already have everything to play...or who write "3D printer goes brrrr".
