  1. Which is a terrible shame btw. Those wimpy wizards would NEVER escape our grasp if we could move the skulls in both hero phases.
  2. Due to several reasons, last months contract was surprisingly an abject and total failure so this is my pledge: 1. Finish that Skull Altar 2. Slaughterpriest #2 3. Wrath Axe 4. 1-5 Kavalos Deathriders (depending if they get here or not) And maybe a Mortisan Boneshaper and/or Gothizarr Harvester We’ll see how it goes
  3. Been messing around with some lists lately, I'm a sucker for creating unconventional lists that don't really follow the norm, so what do you guys think? My plan for this list would to Alpha-Strike my opponent, with army wide run and charge from the Stalliarch Lords and the +6" scout movement for the Katakrosian Deathglaive. I haven't been able to test out this list yet (obviously) but I do have several questions: 1. Do you guys think this list is competitively viable? (At least enough to get a good game in) 2. I would like to take more cavalry, but I'm not sure where to fit it in and still get the most out of the list, taking out the 2 mortek guard units to take some more Deathriders doesn't make much sense, so I'm not really sure what to do 3. Speaking of mortek, should I take them in a big blob of 20 or keep them in two units of 10. I have the required battleline either way, but it seems most people prefer to take Mortek in bigger units. 4. Slaughterpriests are AMAZING. They have great prayers and give you access to the Judgements of Khorne. Their prayers can't be unbound and their judgements can't be dispelled they're one of the best things Khorne has going for them. 3 prayers (counting the judgement roll) and the ability to attempt an unbind of a spell AND attempt to dispell an endless spell. They're amazing. If you find that your Bloodsecrator's range lacking consider taking Gore Pilgrims. That +8" range on the Bloodsecrators abilities is epic.
  5. Hey guys, I've been looking into getting some Sylvaneth, and I've drafted up a couple of lists. I'm not really sure how these will play competitively, but what do you guys think? I think the second list is probably better, but I feel they are both too reliant on magic and dryad summoning. I'll take any suggestions, comments or questions. Thank you! 6. On the contrary, our best competitive lists are 'thirster based. We just like discussing all the different ways you can build a mortal list. I'm a mortal fan myself, so I don't know much about daemons, but the Baleful Blood Slaughterhost or Reapers of Vengeance are the best ones to build a bloodthirster spam list around.
  7. This month I pledge to complete: -My WIP Bleeding Icon -Wrath Axe Judgement of Khorne -My 2 Slaughterpriests -My Skull Altar Should be a fun, if not time consuming month, once all this is finished my army will really be starting to come together
  8. As I promised, all 20 of my bloodletters are now done. Overall, I think they look ok. Given that the flame effect is built up through multiple layers of dry brushing, they’re a little sloppy, but I think they look pretty cool on the tabletop. Unfortunately I had to try my hand on some free handing on the banner bearer and well... I really wish it looked better but with my artistic skill this is as good as it will get. Even though this wasn’t on my pledge, I went back and re did parts of my skullreapers, most notably the daemonforged weapons and armor, as well as the bases and some general cleaning up. I think they are now a worthy representation of my painting skill, and those daemonforged bits look awesome. My clump foliage finally arrived, so I slapped it on my Sylvaneth models. I like the effect, both as moss and leaves, but I decided to try attaching it with PVA glue because my scenic cement hadn’t arrived yet. PVA does not stick to them very well, but once it bonds it seems to hold on I also slapped together a nice little bloody objective marker with a spare 32mm base and some skulls from the citadel skull set. I also started to work a little on next months pledge. It may not look like much right now, but it’s going to look AMAZING when it’s finished. Overall this was a pretty good month for me, my GW shipment finally arrived, so I’m restocked on paints, and I can’t wait to get started for next month. With summer coming up, I should have a lot of time to paint.
  9. I would get some flesh hounds and bloodletters, more battleline is always good

As you might guess, my idea with this list is to Alpha-Strike the heck out of my opponent. I think catapulting the majority of my army across the board turn one could really mess with my opponent, I could drop a unit of Mortek guard and add the Kavalos Lance battalion, but the only real benefit I would get is the free CA for the deathriders and less drops, because the run and charge is redundant with Stalliarch Lords. With the 6" scout movement, the +3"CA and run and charge, the Harbingers have a threat range of 18+4d6 (average of 14" 1D6 run + 3D6 charge) That's an average movement of 32" (!) More than enough to get to your opponents squishy support heroes and wizards to smack them out of the universe. My basic strategy with this list would be to launch everything in my army that I can across the board turn one, except for the mortek guard and boneshapers, although I'll need them to keep up with the pack. The Harbingers can get the squishy backline, while the deathriders, leige kavalos and stalkers massacre everything else. Given the fact that I'm taking a lot of multi wound models, I thought taking the Gothizzar harvester would be prudent, although I could take it out to add 3 more stalkers. I could also take the harvester and the endless spell out to increase the size of my harbinger unit, do you guys think that would be worth it? I'll list my questions below: 1. Is this list somewhat competitively viable (look I know it's not petrifex but...) 2. Should I change this list to add more stalkers or harbingers? 3. Halberds or Spirit Blades for the Harbingers? Halberds seem to have better damage potential, but I think the blades might be better overall, what do you guys think? Anyway, that's all the questions and comments I have about this list. As always, thank you in advance for any questions and suggestions. Cheers!
  11. Those look really good. I love the viking/up north effect. Also it's nice to see some Khorne models other than mine for once lol
  12. What spell would you suggest? I could take Arcane Command, but with only one cast for the Boneshaper I doubt I'd be using it much. I'm interested in the trolling power of Protection of Nagash but I don't think it's worth it to use it on a Boneshaper. Reinforce Battle-Shields isn't bad, but it's only for MW so... Drain Vitality is ok, I guess and Mortal Contract looks good but is pretty situational.
  13. Hey guys, I'm a Khorne player who is interested in starting an OBR army, do you guys have any beginner tips for starting and playing an OBR army? I've been wargaming for a while but I figure I should come to the pros for tips on OBR. I also created a list just for the heck of it, let me know what you guys think: Allegiance: Ossiarch Bonereapers- Legion: Petrifex EliteLeadersMortisan Boneshaper (130)- Artefact: Artisan's Key- Lore of Mortisans: Empower Nadirite WeaponsMortisan Boneshaper (130)- Artefact: Lode of Saturation- Lore of Mortisans: Empower Nadirite WeaponsLiege-Kavalos (200)- General- Command Trait: Mighty Archaeossian- Artefact: Godbone ArmourBattleline5 x Kavalos Deathriders (180)- Nadirite Spear and Shield5 x Kavalos Deathriders (180)- Nadirite Spear and Shield10 x Mortek Guard (130)- Nadirite Blade and Shield- 1x Soulcleaver GreatbladesUnits2 x Morghast Archai (210)- Spirit Halberds3 x Necropolis Stalkers (200)3 x Necropolis Stalkers (200)3 x Immortis Guard (200)BattalionsKatakrosian Deathglaive (80)Kavalos Lance (120)Endless Spells / Terrain / CPsBone-tithe Shrieker (30) Total: 1990 / 2000Extra Command Points: 2Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 105 Khorne has pretty good battalions, so I'm a sucker for taking lots of them, I love artifacts and low (ish) drop armies. Honestly this list probably sucks because it looks nothing like any other lists I've seen for OBR but whatever. Obviously I haven't been able to play anyone with this list, or play any games with OBR at all, so I'm not really sure what strategy I would use with this list, I just put it together because I'm bored. I'm interested to hear if you guys have any advice for a newbie OBR bone tithe collector. Thank you in advance for any advice!
  14. Alright so I didn't exactly honor my pledge for this month, I picked up the Judgements of Khorne Box and a box of Bloodreavers and that... changed things. I still got a TON of painting done, though, so it's not like I slacked off or anything. The final totals are: 1 Wrathmonger The Hex Gorger Skulls 9x Bloodreavers 3x Bloodletters Did up some older models from november and december now that I have all the proper highlight paints and whatnot (not pictured here but it was 2 skullreapers, 3 wrathmongers and a handful of bloodreavers) So for the Wrathmonger, I tried to do the usual demon red undercoat for his leg... situation, but that didn't work for two reasons. A. Mephiston Red clashes something awful with the rest of the mini and B. Doing the normal demon thing didn't fit with the rest of my army and my flame/lave demons therein. Because the flame method involves only drybrushing, the legs look pretty sloppy, but I think he looks ok in general I LOVE how these turned out. These things absolutely massacre wizards, and now they look the part as well. For the blood effect on the blood streams, I did like 5 HEAVY layers of Carroburg Crimson over Wraithbone and slapped two GIGANTIC coats of Blood For the Blood God on after that finished drying. I also used an obscene amount of the blood stuff on their bases. These two skulls took like half the bottle to complete, but I say it was worth it. I removed the blood from the bone spike things on the first skull cuz I though it looked stupid, but I didn't take a new picture of the two skulls together because I'm lazy (#neckbeardlife). The little rivulets of blood around the skull look a little sloppy, but I think these guys look awesome. Most of the guys I play Warhammer with use wizard shenanigans of some sort and I can't wait to see what they think of these things. During spring break, my pledge was to complete one Bloodreaver every day. It almost cost me my sanity, but I did it (dear God how am I going to paint 60 of these mad lads what am I doing with my life) I also experimented with darker skin tones and I found I really, REALLY like it. I'll keep grinding out those bloodreavers. Eventually. I love the lava demon method for two reasons, 1. It's really easy to do and 2. It looks awesome. If you guys thirst to have your demons look this cool (hot?), it's really simple. Undercoat them with Wraithbone (preferably as a spray it's way easier) and then drybrush Flash Gitz Yellow on as a first layer. However, don't work the paint into the bristles on a paper towel, instead do it on a palette. Then apply Troll Slayer Orange with the same methodd, but make sure it's a lighter layer than before. Then apply Wild Rider Red, Khorne Red and Abaddon Black in that order using the normal drybrush technique, making each coat progressively lighter. Remember, the demon will be hottest in it's core body parts, but colder on it's extremities, so keep that in mind. Once all the drybrushing is done, paint the eyes with White Scar. If your demons are holding weapons or have collars, metal symbol things embedded in their skin, etc. (like mine do) I've found it's best to paint them normally, the lava looks best on the organic parts of a mini. I can't wait to paint my Daemon Prince like this when I finally get him. A final group photo of everything I got done this month. Overall, this has been the most efficient month I've ever had, and if you guys have any comments, questions about the paints or techniques I used or tips you'd like to share, feel free to ask. Until next month!
  15. Alright well I'm out of leadbelcher (obviously GW is reopening but not shipping to the US yet, grrrrrrr) so I guess I'll focus on flaming demons this month (which is a shame considering my skullcrushers just arrived in the mail), because they don't need metal swords. I pledge to complete my remaining 17 Bloodletters. If GW opens up shipping to the US, I'll be able to restock in which case I'll paint 1 or both of my Slaughterpriests and re do my Bloodsecrator (Turns out I went a little overboard on the drybrushing when I first painted him). My army of unpainted mini's is pretty large (950 ish points plus a skull altar) but there's never been a better time in the history of the world to have so much painting to do so... My final pledge looks like this: 17 Bloodletters If GW starts shipping to the US again: 1-2 Slaughterpriests Redo the Bloodsecrator Actually maybe finish those Vanguard Raptors I've been sitting on since January (look I just don't really like painting SCE and they're not even my models)
  16. Hey got a quick question on Apoplectic Frenzy, I assume because you expend Blood Tithe Rewards in the hero phase, you can use this reward to have a unit fight twice, once in the hero phase and once again in the combat phase, I didn't see anything in the core rules that said you couldn't do this, and I also would assume that you can make a normal move if possible later in your turn in the movement phase if you had already wiped the unit you were in combat with. Just checking to make sure that I know what I'm doing (for once in my life)
  17. Yeahhhhhhhh as tempting as it may seem two blocks of 40 bloodreavers is definitely NOT the way to go. A 6+ save, a base bravery of 5 (ok it's 6 with the banner bearer but still) does not make for a longlasting horde unit. Also you would have to be INSANE to paint 90 reavers. (I should know I'm taking 60 in my list and I've already gone crazy after painting 15). Even though you can run them across the board with the goretide command ability and a bloodstoker, have fun getting 40 reavers packed into the 'stokers wholly within 8" whip range. If you want to make the most out of your bloodreavers, I suggest taking Gore Pilgrims as well as Dark Feast and running them in an MSU approach. You can run a couple units of these guys up the board turn one and with Dark Feast and Gore Pilgrims and have a lowly unit of 10 make 41 attacks if you line your buffs up right. Of course, 10 bloodreavers may not last long, but with meatripper axes against a 4+ save they should do about 7 wounds per phase at full strength. The Goretide command ability allows 'reavers to be pretty versatile, you don't have to launch them right at the enemy, you can use that auto run 6 to get to objectives quicker (because lets face it mortals are painfully slow) or to sneak past the enemies chaff to get to those pesky insufferable Vanguard Raptors (God I hate them so much they've shot off literally everything I hold dear) or another shooty unit that's too much of a wimp to engange in proper hand to hand combat. (I'm looking at you Flamers of Tzeentch with that 9" movement). *SIGH* Anyway, as mentioned previously Chungus Lord can only do the fight twice on STD units (which sucks btw, can you imagine Skarbrand or Skullreapers with fight twice?) so he's only really useful as a beatstick in this list (and a good one at that) In Goretide lists, there's the eternal debate on whether a Daemon Prince or Chungus Lord is better as a general, but personally I'm sold on the DP. With Dimensional blade on his claws, he's doing 9+ wounds per phase with fight first, and his command ability will give your opponents fits. (Of course if they're shooty boys using his ability might not be the best idea). Ok, that was a lot of info, but I want to hear how whatever form this list takes does in the future. (Of course you can't really play anybody in person but if you're desperate [like me] you can get TableTop Simulator on Steam and download Khorne figurines and play against one of your friends) Anyway, I hope this helps!
  18. Last month, I was not terribly successful, (at least the second half) but this month I pledge to complete: A. My last wrathmonger (finally) B. Two Vanguard Palladors C. Several more Bloodreavers D. A Bloodletter or two perhaps E. A skullreaper or more Bloodreavers (maybe)
