  1. I will soon be in homeoffice, which means that my days will be 2 hours longer because I don’t have to spend those in my car. Time to paint! 😃
  2. Almost finished. 2020 points on paper. 😃
  3. Or you wait till the models get discontinued and sell them for double their price. 😎
  4. I enjoy following the developments from a bit of a distance. I read here and only rarely go to any of GWs websites or watch videos. Guess I’m more interested in the marketing strategy than in the marketing itself. When it comes to buying, I always take my time and never buy anything day one anyway.
  5. I wonder how it will be handled the other way around: How many AoS models will get Oldworld rules? I mean, every single unit in my Mawtribes army originated in the old world anyway. But even most units specifically designed for AoS could easily fit in the Oldworld without too much of a stretch. Maybe the Lumineth, with their very traditional/high elven spearmen and riders and their more AoS high fantasy temples were specifically designed to be partially useable in the Oldworld? Would also be clever saleswise, giving an AoS army owner something of a head start/incentive to build an Oldworld force based on his army, while still needing additional models
  6. My guess is that they will keep the two games mostly separate in terms of models and rules. I wouldn’t count on new Oldworld models getting AoS warscrolls. Counts-as, however, may become very popular. 😃
  7. A frostsaber/hunter ambush can do the same as the gorgers, but better for a higher investment. And they mix well with Winterbite. Mournfangs can also be fast and painful for shooters.
  8. I‘d imagine they don’t really care, as long as sales numbers are ok. It’s a mixed bag for GW: After all, I think many later customers (me included) were drawn into one or multiple GW games because they got intrigued by the details of one or the other army/warband/killteam while reading on the internet. They still buy models, after all. And once they are into an army, the completionist kicks in, and they buy the books too.
  9. I don’t defend anyone, I just try to understand the attack. Corona rattled the whole gaming and tournament scene, and conceivably changed the focus of many hobbyists during the last months. There‘s also a lot of possible logistic, production and distribution problems that could play in. GW, as any company, has to take all that into account and constantly readjust its course to continue prospering (can’t blame them for that I think. They, as we, didn’t invent capitalism). Maybe the initial Lumineth release was planned a lot earlier, but was pushed back. Maybe the second release was planned for a later date. Who knows. But I surely don’t see cheating.
  10. So far, I bought exactly one battletome. Found out there’s nothing in it ruleswise that I hadn’t read before in the internet plus warscroll app. I feel like just like warscroll cards, you buy battletomes for convenience. And lore and artwork. All of the crunch can be found elsewhere for free, if you want/need to go cheap. It’s pretty fair, I think.
  11. People complaining that their faction doesn’t get updated with new models and rules fast enough. And now people complaining that they get updated too fast. Not easy to please Warhammer fans. 😄 Seriously, I‘m quite sure it wasn’t planned that way. But, Corona.
  12. For me it would make the whole Death faction more interesting. And a Vampire army very tempting.
  13. Not much left for Nagash, if the vampires go and take zombies and skeletons with them.
  14. At least there ARE new models for existing armies. Nice ones, too. So I’m happy.
  15. As far as I know, mounted archers try to release the arrow at the moment where all 4 hooves are in the air. Which would be, I think, actually easier to accomplish on an animal that does bigger leaps.
  16. My current Ogor build uses around 7 for 1500 points. I still like the choices, though. Still much to explore.
  17. As many as possible! There is no army where I like every model. Redundancy gives me the option to circumvent battleline, hero or elite models I don’t like. Also, more room for creative combinations to develop new tactics. For example, in the Ogor thread someone combined an Avalgr Ancient Thundertusk with Ironguts in a Winterbite tribe. Who would have thought of that? But it works. And, thirdly, armies don’t look so samey if they have a wider range of creatures, and if they fit together, they still look like a coherent enough force.
  18. The way forward in my mind would be Idoneth thralls and reavers. They share their overall sinewy racial trait, while still coming in a discernible and believable male and female variant of that body type. Also different clothing, but still in the same style.
  19. A bottleneck for me is priming. The spray primer seems to not like to be used when it’s cold outside, and I won’t use it indoors. How do you prime in winter?
  20. I am thinking more and more that wargaming miniatures HAVE to be a bit exaggerated to bring their point across. If they don’t scream MALE or FEMALE or ORC or ELF at you from 3-4 feet across the table, they just don’t work as what they‘ve been designed for. So the Alternative to exaggerated gender stereotypes would be (factually, seen from across the table) no gender at all.
  21. Just read that the DPD doesn’t deliver between GB and EU at the moment. Reason is that 20% of the packages had to be returned to the sender because of wrong paperwork.
  22. As I currently play as Throgg in TW1: Ice Trolls were a thing in the Old World at least. Would be a nice addition.
  23. I just looked it up. The procedure for exporting goods from GB to the EU is a flowchart spanning 4 pages. It’s a nightmare. Also seems that in some cases, tax has to be paid beforehand, and can later be refunded. I can now fully understand any seller who doesn’t really know what to do. Personally, I’ll wait until the process runs smoother.
