  1. I think what is currently a bit missing in many armies although it would fit is artillery. Also there are still some armies with not many unit choices, which can be filled with new and creative units. I think they will expand the more traditional, long neglected armies first: Elves/Dwarves/Orruks/Cities/classic Vampires. Still a lot of fans for those, so a relatively safe investment for them. It’s also what is needed to make the „crazier“ stuff stand out more.
  2. Yea, but that logic doesn’t really fit the model market, right? Few people will buy into an army consisting of only a few models and/or which is deemed likely to disappear sooner rather than later. So a half-hearted publication more often than not becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
  3. Mordheim solved both problems quite cleverly I think: Rewards were always given as better chance on a random table, which could also result in drawbacks and vice versa. And the territory that the fights took place in was a ghost Town in the middle of the different camps. For AoS one could simply scale those solutions up.
  4. To turn the question around, which unit can endure so much more than 48 wounds plus healing options?
  5. Like all Ogor players, I‘m an obese cannibal. 😂
  6. Hey, it’s grimdark. It‘s fantasy. It’s clearly and obviously fictional. Let’s not forget that, right?
  7. I never understood why this should be too dark in a world of witch burning, rampant cannibalism, mass carnage for religious reasons, political assassinations, genocide and biological warfare, but whatever 🤪
  8. Even fully buffed, 10 sabers and a hunter do around 12ish wounds per round, the damage calculator says. With a very wide variation, so not very reliable. For 320 points. Ok, they can pick and attack vulnerable units. But I am still not sure they are worth it. Built them anyway. 😄
  9. Ok, but wouldn’t it make sense for them to, for example, have the goal of changing the whole AoS miniature range to modern plastic within the next year, once they have their new factory? I would consider this goal quite achievable, seeing the sheer amount of new minis that came out this year. And I know what I would buy instantly... 😁
  10. I had always been into rpg, so I knew the old world and Warhammer rpg for a long time. What got me into tabletop was actually the Mordheim PC game. I soon found the old Mordheim rulebook online and started building warbands. I was shocked when the Old World was destroyed, but soon found out that Warhammer Fantasy got a lot more skirmishy with AoS. So I built up one of my Mordheim Warbands to 1500p AoS-size, and here I am. 😄 I have to say, what really helped me getting into it was the material that you can find online for free: Basic rules, warscroll builder... Easy to look into it and see how it works before investing into something you may not like. Well done, GW 😎
  11. My guess would be Kharadron. Quite hightech, but not overly so.
  12. At least there is no thread called „Ogor Mawtribes. Hideously overpowered?“ 😂 I don’t know the other armies too well: Are we actually the only army with three dedicated ambush units (frostsaber/hunter/gorger)? If so, that should be an interesting tool which not all are ready to counter.
  13. We will see. We do have a lot of choice though, compared to many armies. People got a lot of ideas and start experimenting, and that‘s good. 😊
  14. Skaven DOOMWHEEL It just screams Skaven on the top of its lungs. 😄
  15. Seriously, I have been following this forum for a year now. And I sometimes do not get the negativity here. For example, Slaanesh comes out, people waited for it for years, breathtaking model line, all are hyped; literally minutes later, the whining begins again: Kharadron/Slaves/Ogors/younameit get nothing again? GW hates me!“ Same with cities, gloomspite, Ossiarch and, now, Slaves. Wtf? Of course not everything gets updated at once, how should that be possible? And no matter how often they surprise us with something great and new and long-awaited and shiny, people act as if that would be the last thing they ever did and all other armies are completely forgotten. They aren't. And when (not if) some form of light/high elves come out next year, I am sure that within minutes people will be like „Why not goblins on airships??“. Well, because you have to start somewhere. Duh.
  16. To be fair, they had an impressive output of tomes and models this year. Impossible to please everyone at once if you’re, like they did, rebuilding a ship while at sea. Some people waited a long time for their tome, others still wait for new models (Skaven spring to mind). But, all in all, we had a hell of a ride this year. I am quite confident that the remaining holes will get plugged in the months to come. 😊
  17. It, however, makes sense to me, since it supports to actually think about the specific role for each mount, instead of just slapping the „best“ one on each.
  18. To each his own, I guess. Best part of the hobby for me is finding and building as many different meaningful fighting poses for my models as the kit allows, swapping weapons and customizing whatever is possible. Comes from building Mordheim Warbands I suppose 😅
  19. Mawtribes Warscroll Builder is up. No more excuses for having not enough Battleline. 😎
  20. Given the speed of publications in the last weeks, those 3 tomes will be out at the end of January. 😁 Some of the armies do have not many different units so far, and it’s a Safe sale to those who are already into those armies. Creating completely new armies is riskier, I would think. Although I would totally buy into vampire pirates 😀
  21. Saddle-hiding harness. Because Huskards are interesting now. 😁
  22. So far, strong missile troops have been quite rare in AoS. With OBR, they start to be part of the game. Wild speculation1: There will be a lot of new miniatures for many of the less diverse armies in 2020, now that all armies are consolidated with tomes Wild speculation2: Many of them will be (so far quite lacking) warmachines and shooters Conclusion: Get used to shooting/anti-shooting meta. Too wild?
  23. Sadly, the firebelly doesnt really fit my icy theme. Maybe a homemade one, wearing furs and blowing an ice cloud... Hmmm... 🤔
