  1. I’m more in the Luthor Harkon Team. Go, vampire pirates! 😄
  2. It certainly stirs the pot. So, yes. I’m all for it. 😃
  3. I‘d say just for painting, Idoneth may be a good idea. Tropical fish come in any colour and pattern imaginable, and it’s possible to use any paint scheme you want without them looking weird. In fact, that’s the main reason why I’m currently pondering to get some eels. 😄
  4. Ogors may have an almost unmatched number of different kits that are interesting in minimum size, which for them means 1-3 models. But if you’re just in it for the painting, they do get repetitive. Skin, leather, fur.
  5. You can use the Hunters command „Lead the Skal“ for +1 attack per command point invested. So for 5 command points you can get to 8 attacks per saber.
  6. I think Aleguzzlers have to change. Right now they are very swingy, which is ok for a single mind game ally, but which would make a low-model count army out of them more of a coin toss than a strategy game... 😎
  7. I find it fitting that they cost more than Stonehorns. They are much bigger and should be much stronger.
  8. What shall a custom Ogor hero ride while staying under 400 points? A Gnoblar?
  9. I try not to think about it. There’s so many contradictions in being undead. 😁
  10. I count 24 vastly different factions, each with their own distinct philosophies, outlooks, societal structures and preferences as to who they like or hate. If that is considered small... 😳
  11. The Gorkamorka connection wasn’t really stressed in the Mawtribes book iirc. Seems like it didn’t sit too well with the authors, too, wanting to create some unique faction. And that’s basically my point: More freedom of story. Maybe my Mawtribes are on the Mawpath to find/summon a new great maw like in the legends? Gorkamorka lore would just get in the way of that lore idea. Maybe my (future) Idoneth developed some dark connection to the more destructive parts of old Mathlann (it was heavily hinted that Mathlann=Manann=1/2 Stromfels in the old lore)? That would make them more Destruction than Order. And so on.
  12. Do assassin snakes or soul-stealing fish elves really want the world to thrive? Do the Skaven have any interest in the other chaos gods besides their Horned Rat? Do Ogors have any prejudice as to who it is they’re eating and who is happy watching them do it? Questions for the philosophers. 😁
  13. Good. I always felt the grand alliances, especially Order, were a bit forced. 🙂 And those little factions had to go at some point to not clutter everything. I also like that the Skaven are the only ones who won’t even trust their own kind. 😎
  14. Will any of the AoS armies fit into the Old World? What do you think?
  15. Countless possibilities. By the way, has anyone tried or seen someone trying to build eel-people from the Akhelian Guards? Like, glue the tails on the bodies of the riders with a lot of greenstuff in between... ? Or is the size difference between eel and rider too big?
  16. I find it still quite limited. Too limited to delve in starting them actually. Heroes are ok, but a few more troop choices would be nice. Maybe a crab, adding some armored staying power, as the rumor engine would imply. Or something.
  17. More and more I begin to think that this whole Hype thing is just overrated. Sure, with the first pictures everyone (me included) thinks „New! Shiny!“, but does that generate sales? Until the new miniatures are available, that first hype is long gone, and anyone not completely new to miniatures knows that building an army is a long-term project anyway. So, maybe for most the decision for or against an army is more of a long-term process, too. Guided by a comparison of all the armies available, and it doesn’t matter so much how old or new they are.
  18. „They say he can’t be killed.“ “And do you believe them?“ „No, Mylord. Anyone can be killed.“ 😁
  19. I’m actually not so sure how many players buy the specialist games boxes explicitly for the specific specialist game anyway. For most it seems to just be a way to add some variety/conversion material to their own project, whatever it may be. For me it surely is. 😎
  20. An Idoneth addition would be great! And a sign that they finally start to add to the existing armies with few choices. 😃
  21. That’s why I think they will tie it to the old world. Lots of Designs that could be used in both.
  22. In 40k, it worked well. You have your basic Cadians, without anyone asking how there can be a standard soldiery dress in a whole (and seriously fractured) galaxy. And, as an addition for the individualists out there, over the years you had a lot of differently styled guardsmen from all over the place, too.
  23. You’re right, there are a lot of armies that have still a lot of room for new models. I think humans are important in any game. They are literally our point of view: If I want to get a feel for how massive or tiny my Gargants or Magmadroths or Gnoblars are, I have to relate them to „the average human“, because that’s my point of view in the real world. That’s why it’s not enough to just have them in the fluff (where they are arguably even more important): You have to see them on the table every now and then to really enjoy your non-human armies. Surely GW knows and understands this, as they did so in 40k. Thus, it’s more a matter of „when“ than „if“ that there are new humans. But, as you say, there is still a lot of work to do with many armies. That’s why I think that it will still take a long time. Maybe until the old world returns, which would have quite some synergy opportunities. No trolling. Just a guess. 😊
  24. Without humans to protect, there is no Sigmar story. But as a fighting force, they are still a footnote. And I fear they will stay that way until Oldworld comes. Unfortunately.
