  1. I'm kinda late to the party too, but boy those models. Great paintjob, great bases - just...stunning. Did you made the tombstones yourself or did you buy them (where?)
  2. oh, that works? Fine, so I will take a closer look at tempest eye too. Thanks for your advise!
  3. hiho, I'm more the fun player, less the guy caring too much about combos and stuff. So I would love to field some dwarfs and some darkling coven aelves: ironbreakers, darkshards, sorceress on dragon, maybe executioners too. First of all, I was into Anvilgard, but reading through the thread, it seems like Anvilgard is all about scourge privateers. So is there a city which would fit or would it make no diffrence due to the particular models I want to field?
  4. Just to summ that up. Mortarch Caster Tombstone guy Cav (lances or swords) Infantry (2handed sword or sword and shield) The 4 sword 4 heads guys Catapult I wonder if there gonna be a box similar the hexwraith/black knights box to build two completely doliffrent units, not just weapon options.
  5. mmhh i would prefer something more animal-ish like a scorpion (yeah I know, TK related, but i love scorpions ) or maybe they bring dread abyssals to the board as a single miniature? Does anyone noticed the little legs of the catapult? Awesome and somehow creepy like a centipede. So there are already animal related elements in the design. Maybe the behemoth also goes in this direction? Or a bone-patchwork-dinosaur - can we have one? please please please????
  6. ok, I gave it a 2nd chance and took another look or two I wonder, if you may paint those "plates" which cover the "bones" (can't be real bones because they a constructs but it looks like bones at the knees for example) like skin and the "bones" as u guessed it - bones. So you make them look more organic. Of course I still have to get rid of the joker and samurai heads but it's a start...maybe the scale fits, and you can take common skulls (but I somehow doubt that). If you look at these 3 headed, 4 sworded elite thing, those skulls look more like actual skulls (the two in the back, not the one in the front) or like the morghast skulls. The more I look at it, the more I can figure out what turns me of (personally). I like the rest of the armour, it's kinda nutral and fits to the existing morghasts (which I like). As they choose those big round shields, I wonder why the didn't stick with this kinda greek hoplit theme and added some bristle helmets or armoured uruk hai helmets. I will have to compare them sizewise with ordinary skeletons...
  7. regarding the paint theme, I like the way the general next to the mortarch and the caster go away from being boney to this black dread abyssal-ish theme. I painted my dreadabyssal black with red skulls, because I didn't like the idea of a big, flying heap of bones under Manfred's white a$$ But anyway, for me, the paint theme doesn't change the asia astetic so I'm still out of it...
  8. my wallat says "thx GW" - I gonna pass. I like the mortarch, although it looks more like a diorama than a tabletop model and the artillery is great too, but everything else is too much samurai-asia-style for me personally. The cav looks ok, more massiv than black knights, but all in all the whole release seems too comically to me and it doesn't fit to GA death as I like it (more darker and dangerous, less comic). I mean, look at those infantry guys with their grins and than look at the chief of the spectral guard... I think I gonna add one or two katapults to my deathrattle heavy army and pass for the rest... edit: what I expected was more like heavier armoured and/or dynamic skeletons, maybe with a new design, less "reanimated medieval soldier", but not reanimated samurai (although it was kinda clear). Total War went down the same asian road as many other gaming companies and I never liked the outcome - but that's just me.
  9. @Panzer ...and by early you mean that I will also see every thing 15 hours earlier right? RIGHT? Like right know or so... I could rest in peace, if I could have a look at the catapult thing they teased... @Maier666 where are you from? 3am u say? hard to hear
  10. I hate and love them for teasing the ****** out of this release...hope to not be disappointed when the stuff is revealed! Speaking of revealed - in Austria it's miday, where are my skeletons?
  11. exactly! How says Nagash even cares about what his servants do when he doesn't look. They don't harm his plans and they do what he wants them to do. Skelli legions with katapults!!!! I'm sold!
  12. sounds malignant - I love it thx for advise!
  13. In an Nighthaunt army I fielded: Knight of the Shroud on Steed Guardian of Souls 20 Chainrasps 6 Spirithosts 10 Hexwraiths Guardian with chainrasps (anvil) Spirithosts in the grave for ambushing elites, heroes and mosters. Hexwraiths and KotSoeS at tge flank (hammer). If you play LoN you can also bring this combo or a vampire lord. The problem is, you need your CPs for the revive and not for buffing. To field a group of 10 will make them last longer and of course more punch. As I mentioned, i like them.
  14. van hels is a nobrainer in 90% of the situations. I choosed decrepify if there should be an annoying hero which I can't get rid of. Why no offensive MW spell? Because the Harbringers should be able to kill every thing with their punch an mobility, that the skeleton horde cant reach...
  15. I'm currently trying to make a LoN list out of my death collection. Wanted to field manfred, but sadly he is to expensive and as I'm focusing on 1k games, he is out of the race before it starts... Necromancer (General) Artefact: Curseblade/ Trait: unbeding will Spell: decrepify Wightking with Tomb Blade 40 Skeletons 5 Dogs 2x 2x Morghast Harbringers The plan is, that as its a 1k game, not all edges can be covered, so there gonna be space for my 4 harbringers. The core is obviously the skeletons and the necromancer + wightking as somekind od a backup. Dogs do what dogs do Thoughts?
  16. so i played both BKs and HWs. BKs pre LoN and in units of 5 (1k games or less) they suck. They do a little bit of dmg when they charge and nothing as the fight is going on. 10 of them is a diffrent story, as you can revive them now (LoN), you got a fast meatshield which also can deal with weaker units. Just let them hang around the flanks, charge them into weaker units to kill them or straight into the heavyhiters just to stop them for 1-2 turns. Then revive and do it again while the rest of your army does the real work. HW are much better, they can dish out good dmg/MW (also units of at least 10) and I used to play them with a Knight of the Shroud on Steed nearby (or vampire lord on steed) for more attacks or a devastating 10" charge (NH trait!). Last game 10 of them killed 20 blood letters, 5 dogs, a korgorath and 1 or 2 small heroes of khorne. Those 10 HWs+KotSoS completely hammered half of the enemys army till the 3rd round. I love them, I always field them, just don't forget the support...
  17. fantastic looking model, and then you scroll down, see the cairn wraith on the backside incl. OSL *boommm* mind blown. Cool idea, great details - best mini I have seen in a while!
  18. Wow love it, great work! How did u do the armour? So here we are, added some orange and it turned out much smoother. The base gonna be a red, sand, earth mix as it is at the hellfire peninsula.
  19. So what's missing so far (battletomes for existing factions/very likely factions in the future) Order Seraphon 2.0 KO (maybe included in cities of sigmar) Chaos Chaos undiv. Tzeentch & Nurgle 2.0 (unlikely) Death I don't think Soulblight gonna be a thing although it would be cool to get an entire vampire themed army with vamp infantrie (imagine deathguard from TW:WH as your heavy armoured battleline ), bloodknights 2.0 etc. Destruction Here too, I don't know if they include BCR in the ogre battletome, if they do so, destrucion is finished as death is. If I'm not missing anything, there is not much work left for GW. So if they keep up pumping out the missing battletomes untill next spring, they can bring up all existing AoS armies to 2.0 level. From that time on, they can release as many new factions as the want - Light aelves for example. IAs long as GW is preparing well for AoS 3.0 so they can update all then existing battletomes in a short time, I don't see much of a problem in having at least as much BT as 40k has. Imho they did a good job now in souping severeal subfactions in one battletome and they seem to end that process with Ogors, cities of Sigmar and the Orc BT. Time for some brand new armies for Death and Destrucion
  20. thx for compliments guys - the new battletome around the corner doesn't make things easier right know. Still got some SCE on my desk (round about 20). @Cèsar de Quart Rust was an option at the start, but it wouldn't fit the theme as those WoW orc armour hast no rust at all. The yellow works well at the feed but not so great at the rivets and the shoulder parts. As soon i got time, I will add some orange to it and of course some eyes I also absolutely dislike the GW Theme. The story behind might be a nice idea, but all in all it doesn't fit, it's too childish.
  21. good job, maybe a bit too dark for me, but tasts are diffrent right? Nice bases!
  22. Uhh lots of austrian fellas here...
  23. so here we go... The color transition ("glow") could be smoother, but all in all, but i felt it is the absolut maximum I could achiev. Although i feel that a wash (which one?) would help the glow effect... What a defenitely gonna do is, buy troll slayer or something similar and add it, again, to smoothe the transition... Thoughts? edit as I see the mini here, i forgot the eyes - uups ;)
  24. no, not so far and to be honest, I'm not planning to buy another range of colours 2nd try I primed it with corax white again, then leadbelcher + nuln oil, before i washed the wohle mini with agrax earthshade (execpt the skin). that's the current state: #1 #2 Looks good to me so far (much better then the first version); drybrushing the armour and finishing the skin is the next step, before i finally try to create the glow effect. As I never really tried something similar before, I afraid it will look a bit too onedimensional. The Archaon Guide was helpfull, but it's much easier to apply the colors on a large tail then on those tiny spans and gaps between the armour parts. Stay tuned how it turns out...
