  1. You use the blood tithe table at the start of your hero phase. So you’d attack in your hero phase if you chose that option for 4 bloodtithe. So no, you couldn’t use it in the combat phase to attack again. You’d need an eligible unit within 3” of an enemy unit in the Hero phase to attack. But this doesn’t stop you from attacking in the combat phase with the same unit after using the Bloodtithe in Hero phase.. As far as I am aware.
  2. I run goretide. So burn that first command point with whatever hero on one 10 man bloodwarrior unit. Then I decide if I’m dedicating the bloodstoker to it also for that long bomb. Or put him with the other 10 man and take my chances with a decent run roll +3” and no charge. Any objectives on middle ground are pretty well accessible with just the auto 6 run + potential charge or the run roll +3” from bloodstoker. Blood warriors at least have much better staying power than bloodreavers. Acts as a nice screen for your elites to come in as a second wave to add more bodies on objectives. Skullreapers and wrathmongers I find are such a great little combo. Send in the warriors to hold the line and sacrifice themselves in bloody glory while the rest mops up.
  3. Agreed, a passive buff based battalion not reliant on a hero is nice. And If it reduced rend to ranged attacks I’d be down for it. I feel that’s our biggest weakness is being peppered down before getting into melee combat. That’s also why I don’t run skullreapers in 10 man units. As the damage that spills over in my opinion is better set into smaller groups so you don’t loose more models then necessary. I agree there’s much better Khorne like attacks in other armies. But this is what we’ve got unfortunately. And this is how I’ve made my mortals list put in the work. I still run Tyrants aswell with great success. And I take skullreapers in that list also.
  4. Thanks! Yes, I rarely get a choice without the Battalion for picking first/second. But majority of my opponents make me go first because they want that double turn. And if I’m going second that’s fine too. Closer units to my priests is cool with me. So I have blood boil potential. Charge potential with the reapers. Maybe get the skulls closer to where I want them. Utilize the wrath axe. Maybe get a double turn. Keep buffs more consolidated to majority of units. Just need to eat the shooting. It’s going to happen.. But if Im playing magic heavy lists. I do like taking that first turn if I can to shut it down right out of the gate. Depending what army I’m facing and the scenario will dictate my deployment. If nothing can deepstrike you don’t really need to worry about anything dropping behind you. So you don’t really need to encompass your hero’s backs. I have a buddy that loves evocators and sureheart. So he banks on me leaving my heroes open to drop in and obliterate them with 10-15 evocators turn one. So yeah depending what I’m playing I’ll adjust for that. But in general I put my 2x10 bloodwarrior units up front as screens for my skullreapers. I dedicate bloodstoker to one. And skullgrinder behind the other. Send them to opposite objectives as a first wave. Tireless conquerors one unit. And whip the other to take objectives. Skullreapers and wrathmongers as the damage dealers behind that. I keep one 5 man bw unit with my priests for blood sacrifice or objective holding in my zone or to just act as a sacrificial screen for summons. Whatever the case may be. I block with my altar if I can also to screen the priests etc. Bloodsecrator I send into wherever the majority of the buffs are needed. I like the skullgrinder as general as he’s base 3/2/-1/2” range 3 attacks 4 damage with hew the foe. +1 to bravery and can do d3 mortals to a hero or monster at 2”. That’s a whole lot for 80 points. You can change it up if you want for a deathbringer of your choice. But I think I like him the most as a rogue damage dealer they have to dedicate stuff too. I find my priests and general are always major targets. Then skullreapers because people know their potential.. bloodwarriors are a pain to chew through. And if they dedicate range to them that’s just fine. Means they’ve left my precious priests and Skullreapers alone.
  5. I’ve been dropping my battalion on my mortal lists. I’ve run this at our local weekly AoS nights. We have 12-16 players every evening. I’ve played pretty much all the top lists in one form or another with victories at this point. I find in bloodforged my skullgrinder gets auto targeted and same for gorepilgrims with my Bloodsecrator. Why wouldn’t your opponent snipe your general or key hero running the battalion? So I find I loose my required hero and or an artefact carrier rendering the battalion useless. Priests and Skullreapers always take ranged attacks after that. I play against a lot of shootcast, and Skaven. So no one is safe.. so I’ve dropped the battalion and I think I’m happy with the results. Frees me up to bring more bloodwarriors and the judgements I want (axe/skulls) I also like going first. Putting those skulls where I want them to mess up the wizards. Just need to weather the storm and fish for those glorious 6’s with the Skullreapers and bloodboils.
  6. Thanks! The white helmets are great on them. Very jealous of every model. Thanks for the tips and inspiration! - cheers
  7. The blightkings are so good! I wish I owned them! May I ask what colors you generally use?
  8. Thanks for the in depth analysis on composition. Your sculpting is top notch. And thanks for the tip about mixing green stuff and miliput. I will be trying it on my novice skills at best. Love these models. They’re truly inspiring work.
  9. Alright thanks. I will head over there. Cheers.
  10. Quick question. I’m putting together a little Skaven list. I’m just curious about more more warplightning on the canons. At the end of the warscroll where it says “a single warlock engineer cannot be used to increase the power output of more than one warplightning blast in the same phase” does this mean one engineer can only increase one single models warp lightning blast once per phase? Or one warplightning blast per model per phase? Having multiple more more warp lightning shots in a single phase from separate models. Sorry if this is common knowledge or been answered. I just can’t find it.
  11. Got these three almost finished late last night. WrathReapers or SkullMongers🤣
  12. Yes I may end up adding a few bits where the torso meets the hips. I’ve used green stuff to fill in the gaps there and I made that transition line to try and identify the plates from one another. The breast plate comes down to a point so it was challenging trying to situate it properly onto the legs of the blood warrior. I didn’t want it to look too overcrowded either. Thanks for the input!
  13. More conversions! Skullreapers coming along. Using chaos warrior heads. One is from the chaos chariot I believe. The maces are from the wrathmonger chains. Then I trimmed off some axes and other weapons from the reaper sprues and glued them up. Legs will of course be blood warrior legs from hoardo’bits on eBay. These will be my 15th converted skullreapers. 10 full conversions with warrior legs and 5 with head swaps from bloodreavers and minor weapon alterations.
  14. Yes! I’m dreading finishing them I’ve only got through my Garreks reavers I have. I just have the other 20 from one of the original box sets that came with stormcast. So since I had the shadespire reavers I’ve taken 5 from the 20 and used bits to change out my skullreapers. So I’ve got 15 reavers waiting to be done. I personally don’t do assembly line painting I like to focus on one guy at a time. Nothing wrong with doing batches. It’s perfectly fine. I just personally like to stick to one model at a time. Which probably isn’t very efficient. I’d probably try out those new contrast paints on the reavers if I had them on hand.
  15. Finished my exalted deathbringer with impaling spear. What do you guys think?
  16. Thanks! Getting there. I regret painting 30 bloodletters. Wish I spent more time chewing away at my mortals. Skullreapers and wrathmongers are about the same size as a skullgrinder or other equivalent hero. So they’ll take quite some time. Just a wall of grey staring into my soul. Can’t wait to paint up my converted skullreapers though. I think they’re next on my paint list after these last 3 bloodwarriors. 20 painted is probably enough.
  17. Finishing up my blood warriors. So far 17/30 done. I used skull crusher heads on a unit. Also my heroes are almost complete. Just finishing a base on a skullgrinder. Bloodsecrator and bloodstoker finished. Both alternative priests done. I have 10 wrathmongers and 10 skullreapers on deck next. Then the altar and judgements. Then the bloodthirsters... then 20 reavers 😂
  18. Well thanks I appreciate it! I think I’m going to throw in an Exalted DB in there keep him by the skullgrinder general. See what kind of shenanigans the pair can get up to.
  19. Hmmm yes you are correct. Says from the same battalion. Well that blows! I didn’t get to try it with both grinders I brought in the games I played on the weekend. I couldnt seem to get them both where I wanted them to keep everything wholly within. I had high hopes for it though! They’re still a great utility I think for the 80 points as general. But not worth it now that you point that out maybe. I guess I’ll swap in an aspiring DB or another stoker to support the reapers. Thanks for that. Really glad this thread is here to keep correcting my stupidity!
  20. Have you tried bloodforged? I had great fun running 2x skull grinders. 2x5 wrathmongers. 1x10 skullreapers 1x5 skullreapers. 10 x bw 5xbw 10xreavers. 2xpriests. 1x stoker (dedicated to 10x reapers) 1xbloodsecrator. Wrath axe and skulls. I essentially just screen my front line with reavers and warriors. Let them get charged or charge them in to hold up what I want to hit with my reapers. Wrathmongers are support until you can get them positioned to double attack with the battalion if you can fit the grinders within range. The grinders are a pretty sweet hammer for 80 points. Making one the general with hew the foe and amberglaive gives them 2/2/-1/3inch range/4 damage... and if you have a hero or whatever in range of his ability for another D3 damage. it’s quite hilarious. And I tuck him in with the bloodsecrator and unit of mongers behind skull reapers and a screen of whatever battleline. You can’t always keep things wholly within but when it works it works... this of course if your hero’s dont get picked off. I literally go into every game expecting to be crushed but things have just been clicking for me lately. Especially against my nemesis evocators. My opponent can’t quite do what he wants to anymore as I’ve learned to just screen my heroes and elite troops as best as possible. Sacrificing the screen. Skullreapers tear them to shreds once they get the chance. Every table top set up. Scenario. Opponent is different. But I’ve personally been enjoying my Khorne lists lately. Skullreapers are the best thing outside of bloodthirsters. I’ve been loving my tyrants list. But it’s nice to change things up. 10x reapers and 10x mongers I put in every list I’ve been successful with thus far. I think they are an auto include as well as at least one priest. Bloodsecrator and stoker I also just can’t seem to drop outside of a tyrants list. They offer too much to the mortal lists not to bring along. And if your going to try bloodforged I’d recommend 2 grinders. if your opponent knows what’s going on with your battalions they’ll just pick that dude off. Same with gorepilgrims. I don’t bother anymore as the bloodsecrator just gets focused on. And it’s a waste of points once he’s gone... so i stepped away from that personally. Tyrants of blood though. You can spread your damage dealers out with the right list. Same with bloodforged I find. Slaughterborn is nice which I may try here shortly as it offers a passive ability army wide and I’d love to try a huge skullreaper list. Anyways best of luck on your future games. You have a lot of models to play around with!
  21. Have any pics? I used blood warrior legs and bloodreaver heads to convert some for my army. I’d love to see yours to get more ideas. Thanks!
  22. Yes I understood that. I haven’t faced them. I guess in my limited knowledge I didn’t realize it was just a ability not a spell. I see now it says every slaanesh hero can use this ability. And the greater hero’s get it off on a 2+ others 4+. Damn! Well at least the WoK general gets two attempts to unbind the mirror in the enemy hero phase. So we don’t need to move closer to where they may want us. So do we get that add 2 to dispelling on both attempts?
  23. Oh haha wow. That’s crazy. Ok good to know. Well I guess either way as long as one isn’t effected by it. It should override it though?
  24. Yes!! I mopped the floor with every opponent so far. And guess what. I think that thing slaanesh does where it makes the target unit fight last. Potentially overriding tyrants of blood. Welllll skullshard mantle can counter that on a 2+ (Obviously if WoK BT is the target) As you roll to ignore the spell effect as per the artefact. So at least you’ll have your one BT ignoring those effects if for some reason they all get targeted by that spell. Then the shenanigans of attacking in line with the rest of the BTs still goes off. As it overrides the effects as far as I can tell. You have your damage output spread across your entire army. So it’s not reliant on the bloodthirsters. Or the mortals. It’s everywhere. The games I lost while trying out diff set ups with tyrants was when I didn’t bring the Skullreapers. The other demons just don’t hack it anymore. Bloodletters are done in my opinion. And I can’t fit them in either way as I’d rather have the cheaper Battleline so the reapers/mongers can join the joyful slaughter for our glorious god of blood.
