  1. Just by logic you would think people shoot at a unit close enough to charge you. Nobody would keep firing on the orange target when the red is already beating you with swords and axes. Orange should be -1 Red should is fine Blue should be -2 We need finesse and tactic for close combat with screens and movement, why not apply that for shooting? People have to be forced to think about where to position the shooters and people will have tools to deal with it exactly like in close combat. It would open another layer to the game instead of just having a shooting phase without any skill involved.
  2. Very easy, the assumption was that Doubleturn got removed. Players roll at the start of the match and then alternate. Buying a doubleturn would interfere with that pattern.
  3. 1 - Do not shoot into combat. Move before shooting -2 to hit 2 - Units in close combat can't shoot. 3 - Remove double turns. People can buy double turn with 200 points. Opponents can cancel it with an own purchased double turn. Risk is everywhere. 4 - Bring back artifacts for 50 points 5 - No one drop for battalions 6 - Bring back point costs for outfit and equipment for units but make it more usefull and thematic. (Example Nurgle, they are rotten and surrounded by clouds of flies. The bonus should be -1 to hit, no running faster) 7 - Remove all the unnecessary General abilities in the General Handbook. Make it immune to fear and that's it. We have heroes for customized abilities 8 - Create options for every army to play more offense or defense oriented. 9 - Count wounds for object conquest, not model count
  4. They are not worse at all. Against most armies they are a better choice Only importance is to get the charge off. This is why i play 2 units of knights to alternate charge and retreat between those 2. If you have a chaos lord around, you will be golden
  5. Yeah right.............. StD are one of the newest armies and they are bootom feeder without hope. So much for power creep
  6. Demon Princes don't add strike first, they have the ability on their own. Problem is that you don't want them in combat because of their support abilities and they don't have "Eye of the Gods" I run Chaos Lord, Lord on Demonic Mount and Lord of Blights to babysit the 25 blob of Nurgle Chaos Warriors.
  7. I love the mindstealer, especially in despoilers. Lot's of command points for Chaos Lords to let units attack twice. Perfect for 2 units of lance knights In general i figured that Despoilers work better without Demon Princes for some odd reasons. Turning terrain only helps if the opponent has nothing else but shooting so it's very situational
  8. I didn't question that people were speculation that the thing in the mirror could be Sigvald. What i am saying is, that nobody would be able to predict a Sigvald Mini based on this or other small parts of text's i have read. It's always easy after something happens, to interpret signs or connect dots. If you guys are so great make a another prediction, which models come next and when, based on a short verse in a story
  9. Yeah, but this is so encrypted that it is barely a hint. At this point nobody could even guess that the being in the mirror is Sigvald. Whoever is able to do that, has no trouble to interpret the Nostratdamus verses
  10. The problem with that is, that you have to hop through so many hoops to even get to the EOtG table, that it's very unlikely to happen. Usuall, people keep their heroes away from close combat with StD and StD players usually do the same because the heroes are the only source of buffs. Since the new book i had to roll like 3 times on that table and also never got a 11-12. I wouldn't include that into any game plan
  11. Yeah, the regular lazy Warriors of Chaos garbage treatment. Idolators shouldn't be even be a thing. The right way to create an interesting faction is, using their fluff. If they would have created the Warshrine battalion with the +1 to prayers rule instead a lightning on roll of 6, everyone would be happy and we wouldn't have a need for this garbage. It is not that difficult to create schemed factions.
  12. I do exactly that myself. They are always paired with the Lords of Blights, Geminids and Shards of Valaghar and warshrine Makes for a cozy -3 to hit and -5 to hit for shooting. with a reroll 3+ save. It's usually a quite and eventless playing afternoon that drives opponents nuts
  13. There is nothing "wrong" with that list if you just want to have some friendly games to figure out what's working. In general the Knights and the Varanguard will work against each other. In Empty Throne lists, the Knights will be ignored and in other lists the Knights will work well with Karadrak. The Chaos will benefit greatly from the Chaos Lord but both will have trouble to keep up with the rest of the army. Body count in general could be an issue for objectives. But you can ignore all that. Important is to have fun and it will accur to after a couple of games where synergy gets lost. As an overall input i would say get rid of some points, mostly Scarbrand, and invest in the cavalry battailion. This way you can maximize the impact hits you dish out charging stuff.
  14. I used a knife to cut the square shape out of a round 32mm baxse. Then "sink in" the square base and put some terrain paint on. After dry brushing it looks fantastic
  15. I still use them very effectively 4 units by 5 with lances and Nurgle. I always have 2 charging with the other 2 wating behind them. Next round i retread from combat and let the other 2 units charge. They are supported by Chaos Lord and Chaos lord on mount for +1 to hit and double attacks. The rest of the army is some blobs of 25 chaos warriors to hold objects and warshrine I usually take festus for the -1 armor to opponents if it gets off. That means -3 reand to enemies when knights charge
  16. You are able to phrase what most of the StD players think. This book is just flat out bad, but people always quote the only tournament they won, totally disregarding it wasn't even using the StD book. And there is another thing people always forget. AOS is not about tournament or competition. It is about having fun. And StD players definitely don't have fun. We build a Marauder blob and pray that the other player doesn't have auto dispell or high dispell. This leads to auto losses against most armies who are equipped with high magic. Also people are incredible disappointed that we have to roll dice for all of our abilities which are mediocre at best, while the opponent armies have it auto build in and way better. Chaos Warriors used to be fun to play with millions of options and several ways to approach a game. We payed for our marks and they did something. All this has been taken away for any reason i don't understand.
  17. Can i have some help with finding those wide array of lists? Show me a tournament list without Marauder blob as the one trick pony. I would also like to see those lists without playing the Khorne or Nurgle Book instead, since we... yeah talk about the Slaves to Weakness book.
  18. I can't tell if serious. Slaved of Weakness needed a major overhaul right after the book came out
  19. I agree with everything you wrote. Demons and mortals are in one book but don't interact with each other at all. Beside that, most maps have 3 or more objectives. So you lose the game before it starts. But most important, you don't have to apologize for your English 🙂
  20. "Spam" heisst mehr oder weniger, unzaehlige Einheiten aus einem unendlichen Vorrat von Einheiten ohne Ruecksicht auf Verluste in den Kampf zu werfen.
  21. Well, it's not about Gloom and Doom. You supported the gloom and doom with your own post. It's always 1/3 chance here and 1/3 chance there, if lucky you can get this stuff off and there is a special rule one per battle. The problem is that other armies always get their stuff done because it's a build in ability while all our even weak stuff is random chance. The book would be way better if our rules would just apply.
  22. I guess mostly because it is illegal. As soon as you play Knights of empty Throne, you lose the StD and Khorne allegiance. It's just a Chaos army with different rules than than the core Chaos rules. Pg.85 is explaining why. StD are designed to not work with anything cool
  23. Sadly all tools to do that have been removed from StD. You have zero Magic phase since Lum are able to negate the few spells we have, Std have no shooting phase, and they are better in combat. Since they deny the magic without rolling, they destroy the only one trick pony we have. Best thing is to switch to Nurgle or Tzeench.
  24. He commented on the list and mentioned that he didn't meet one of the top tier armies. If i remember correct he played KO but i don't remember which one the other were.
