  1. Hey everyone this is a bit of a longshot but I'm looking to do a conversion reminiscent of Malekith and was hoping I could get ahold of the Dreadlord head with the double curling horns and possibly also the helmet itself with the spikes on it. The bits sites fail me
  2. Are there more archetypes than just those listed? I mean I assume so but I wanted to know.
  3. The Punga ones. And I admit I wasnt sure if I was gonna get them because my bank wouldn't let me charge my card to their site directly and the rep had me paypal it and didn't ask for my address so I felt like I may never see them and just forgot about it since I had no tracking number or anything but then one day they just showed up and they're beautiful.
  4. I love this conversion and it's so simple. I may have to consider it myself but I just bought some amazing 3rd party night runners too so I'm torn on if they'll stand out too much or what.
  5. Sweet. I love those videos and the community. And yeah as an avid wood elf player on the tabletop and TW I hope they get some stuff in the future.
  6. Unrelated but are you the Total war player who's regularly on Turin's tournaments?
  7. Oh right I thought they came in units of 5. My bad. I've considered a million rat list... well a 140 rat list with double clawlord.
  8. That's 120 though and I have access to 110 at most. Maybe 5 gutter runners and a CP though. I'm also considering upgrading the warlock to an arch warlock to make him a little tougher and then buying a CP. Alternatively any of the above combinations plus the bell of doom for backup BS immunity but honestly there's so many better mages running around I'm loathe to count on magic at all and would rather invest in the CP and positioning.
  9. Thay really throws off my whole list So now I need help figuring out what to do with 100 points. My list I want to run is: Verminlord Warbringer w/thing bane Clawlord Grey seer on bell warlock bombadier 40 clan rats 40 clan rata 40 stormvermin 2 warp lightning cannons That leaves me with 100 exactly. I'm not looking for a tournament list but I'm pulling my hair out trying to find a nice way to spend those points. I'm considering dropping 20 clan rats for another warp cannon but I can only empower 1 a turn anyways so maybe not. I can drop 20 rats to bring a claw horde batallion but that seems like a huge target on my easily killed claw lord. I could turn the bombadier into a second engineer and bring another engineer which doesnt hurt for redundancy but I dont really need it with just the 2 cannons. I can bring a single death master but that feels like a waste. It feels like the neatest package I can do is to bring 5 gutter runners to screen and a viletide or bell spell. I dont love any of it but I really want to run a 40 block of stormvermin with the command traits off the warbringer and clawlord... which hmmm does make me a little hungry for CP. Maybe I should drop the bell for a regular seer and bring the snoutgrovel robes as my extra artifact... or I can drop the bell or engineer to bring 40 more clanrats and make a real swarm... decisions decisions.
  10. Hey guys, the clawlord on Brood Horror is stil legal right? He has points in the GHB as 180, but I cant find him in the warscroll builder except in the legends tab at 160... should I be concerned?
  11. Honestly whenever questions of balance come up there's always a group that is like "no you just have to be smarter!" And then inevitably the thing they were arguing against being OP gets nerfed because everybody could see it. Yes some reactions are knee ****** and based on inexperience, but sometimes that doesnt make them wrong and I feel like some people argue contrary just so they don't look like they are whining or struggle with anything.
  12. Ahhh I lucked out and got all 50 of mine on ebay pretty cheap so I didn't know. And they're priced appropriately in our book but not against other books imo.
  13. I agree on darkshards but I found sometimes I needed the 10 points and so I built/converted spears and that's what I have. In the future I may build 10 shards as well for whenever the points are available. I find the deepstriking of living city to be very limited due to the edge of the table clause. It's great for getting an alpha strike into position but it doesn't force your opponent to make decisions about where to move later into the game. Maybe the shadow warriors are a bit much of an investment but at least in DoK it's viable to bring a 90 point unit of heartstrikers or whatever just to play mind games with your opponent. The Azyros luckily doesn't only buff those units though. The free rerolls in every phase of the game for as long as he lives just feels really cost effective. Yes the matter of whether Alarielle is even worth fielding is probably the crux of the whole list to be honest and I don't think I can yet definitively answer that question. I like the flexibility she brings with the ability to summon a screen of dryads or a hammer rod hunters or even more deep strikers with the revanants, and the further investments while heavy should see her with a -1 to be hit/wounded, our CA provides her some exceptional mobility for turn 1 charges (rarely recommended) or objective grabbing, and between lifesurge, lifeswarm, her own passive and the cities passive she's healing up to 2d6+2 (average 9 wounds) a turn. I don't know that that makes her worth it, but it's certainly something I want to test. Yeah sisters are good but with the power creep I dont think they're 160 good. Maybe just a discount at fulllsize?
  14. Sorry it wasn't clear but yeah the Prince is the General and Alarielle doesn't have any magic items. Ironoak skin is the LC spell. On an unrelated note how do we feel about EG? They can get up to a 2+ save if they dont move (easy to do when they're charged because it says turn not round or whatever) but I'm just not sure if it's realistic to rely on their not needing to move and getting off the SotT spell on them.
  15. Though I see what you're saying in characters and worry I'm over investing in the sorceress/dreadspears they do at least provide a backfield camper. I unfortunately don't own 30 rangers or else I would whole heartedly agree. I like the shadow warriors because unlike the rest of the army they don't have to deep strike on the board edge and they can force my opponent to sit back on objectives he could otherwise abandon. As for the Azyros, which you didn't mention specifically but falls under the character bit, I had originally spent 50 on a cp but realized I was always using it for RR 1's in the opening salvo from the sisters so as long as the knight let's me RR twice (opening shots and when they get charged) he pays for himself even if he does nothing else and dies immediately (which doesn't normally happen.) I don't mean to sound combative but your proposed list seems less capable of holding objectives, which is definitely a legitimate concern of my list as well, due to the sheer number of bodies (and concentrating them into big blocks) so if I'm missing something there please let me know. I'm going to keep fiddling and see if I cant squeeze in 10 more sisters though. Thank you again for the response btw
  16. Okay so I'm painting up a list for maybe a tournament in October and I'm a little torn on some small but significant changes to the main list. The list is as below. Alarielle (probably summoning hunters but maybe dryads if I need a screen?) W/ironoak skin Nomad prince Knight azyros Battlemage (probably hysh to protect Alarielle?) W/lifesurge Sorceress w/cage of thorns 20 sisters of the watch 10 dreadspears 20 eternal guard/wyldwood rangers 5 sisters of the thorn w/lifesurge maybe? 10 shadow warriors Emerald lifeswarm Soulsnare shackles OR Alarielle Nomad prince Knight Azyros Battlemage Sorceress 30 SotW 20 eternal guard/WWR 10 dreadspears 10 shadow warriors Emerald lifeswarm So as you can see its between a more defensive option with SotT supporting a block of eternal guard and having access to soulsnare shackles (or possibly shards of valagharr) for slowing the enemy down. Or a more aggressive list using a full block of SotW by dropping the SotT and shackles. In this instance I'd probably drop the eternal guard for WWR though I'm not entirely sure if even the more "defensive" list wouldn't be better off with rangers over guard. I'm also not entirely sure the optimal spread of spells for all those casters. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as it will help me prioritize what gets paint as I'm a pretty slow painter.
  17. Now I'm sad because Spear of Shadows was the best AoS novel I've read (could be because it had nothing to do with space marines... errr I mean storm...marines.) but really, seeing normal everyday life with heroes who could get beat up felt nice. I'll miss the grounded view he provided.
  18. Neither did Knight Castellans and Blood Angels.
  19. That sentence "can be taken by any army" is exactly what I feared most. Maybe this is the wrong thread for doom and gloom as I am genuinely happy for those who wanted this army but my fear of pushed rules designed to sell expensive kits with mo regard for game balance is only exacerbated by this news. Lovely models though. Truly.
  20. Oooo cavalry does sound fun but I'd prefer if they gave us something like a smaller version of the Clawlord on Brood Horror. Of course with them no longer making that model I cant really see it
  21. Im 100 percent sure it's not pronounced this way but Cat-hauler is like one step better than a cat hoarder right?
  22. Plus side of using the bull heads as the stone guard heads means you have the elven looking half of their helmet for another headswap
  23. I finally finished my Verminlord (Skreech Verminking)! I decided to make a custom head by mixing because I didnt think the Verminking head option really conveyed the "all aspects in one" ness of him.
  24. You know, I wasn't spamming them but anecdotally I had 20 clanrats survive the charge of 10 chaos warriors, 5 chaos knights, and Archaon. Not because my opponent rolled poorly but because once the knights killed 13 of them I pulled so that Archaon and the warriors couldnt even swing. So I guess what I'm saying is that the trick to being "survivable" is to spread out and not be there when it comes time for your opponent to swing.
