  1. Welp I'm just going to go wipe off that egg on my face!
  2. You know, I think I gave myself Stockholm Syndrome I think the Mage model Grew on me. I gave it a while to work for me, and I like it more now that there is allusions to Bison and Mountain Spirits. I wonder if we'd be getting more tonight for the Expo previews about it. The tyrion model looks better at different angles too. I think I'm coming around to these new mages, and I just need to see how they play. Plus, Aelves finally can join the "grumpy guy on Chair" look that a few other armies have. I am starting to think that Teclis is more closely linked with the wind and Mountain aesthetics while Tyrion is Sky and river. Just call it a hunch, because of the associations of the elements. The mountain can be seen as stoic, zen, and the wind can be seen as gentle changes or with more teclis ideals. I think Sky and river will be seen more impulsive and destructive, but that could just be me over thinking it. Maybe both twins have the same elemental forces involved with them.
  3. Man, The faces on Lumineth are really hit or miss, aren't they? I was getting used to Teclis's face, and now we have two bloody aweful faces in The mountain mage and the Veil Woman. I have to say it kills my enthusiasm a bit, but it may just be the paint job. I think in my hands they would look better, but that may just be pride talking. Still, I have to examine the model more. I know there is a guy on a podcast that gave really sound advice. look at the pictures in black and white if you can. That said I love the fluff they have given us, if even it's a little bit. The fact Teclis is not using Celenar as a beast of burden now makes the design style make more sense. They share a base, and now one isn't going to be more prominent than the other. I love the idea of stoic but strong Mountain units, and I have to say that I'm excited to see more units. I really think we're going to be getting a ton of heroes, maybe in a Battle-mage multi pack or something. I just hope we see a melee hero soon! (you know, outside of eltharion)
  4. Right now my list is; morsarr leader x3 ishlaen guard x2 reavers. very small model count, but the eels are really tough, and when high tide comes around they hit like trucks. Reavers are just there to harass and skirmish.
  5. So what has been the preferred leader for your warband? I started out liking the ishlaen, but now I think I like the morrsarr guard a bit more. I like the reach of the spear quite a lot, and it made my leader pretty survivable when I make people waste activations getting to him.
  6. You know, if you like the idea of marines / stormcasts leading a bunch of expendable meatshields, then maybe look into flagellents. if your knight incantor is your general they are battle line, and they are certainly expendable and fairly cheap points wise. Play hallowheart and put warding brand on them, and suddenly you have little suicide bombers that cause mortal wounds on a 4+ and more mortal wounds when they flee from combat. A fairly heartless concept if I say so myself!
  7. I could recommend deepkin. There is always fun to had with deciding when or what you should charge, with a few teleportation abilities like outflank and spells. Downsides are that it is heavily reliant on the Eels, and sometimes can be pillow-fisted off the charge.
  8. Wasn't there something in the slaanesh tome about angel winged elves? Just something I thought I would bring up since I was bored in my Roman Lit Class.
  9. So I wonder that if this faction isn’t the winged angel elves, what will be? Kinda curious that we haven’t had any more discussions about it so far, as I feel once Tyrion is released then the winged elves won’t be as prevalent. And, if the winged elves come out I wonder if they will come at the cost of eagle Calvary or something.
  10. Oh I walked in with a semi-competative tourney list, so I knew I was getting into some deep stuff. it was still fun, and if I didn't get double turned it would have been a lot closer! but yea, I hope we have a good balance and some great strengths, without having some of the Kharadron problems.
  11. sp yesterday I got smacked down by an Adepticon Tournament ready hallowheart list, and boy I both hope and dread that we have the kind of magical abilities. Endless spells like the Everblaze Comet, the Bridge, the Geminids and the bridge all being used in conjunction with eachother, and so many AoE spells besides that is just amazing... And also makes for a one sided play experience in all honestly.
  12. You know I am still amazed how my outlook on eel squad sized changed now that I can pretty much guarentee a charge with a soul scryer. It really helped change my plans because now I do not have to worry about them getting charged before they can at least hit once. Now I'm planning on running one big unit of 9 eels and my akhelian King in outflank, and possibly use a second soul scryer to outflank my sharks and Leviadon just for the halibut hell of it.
  13. Well not much to do but wait another week. We speculated as much as we could, so there is not too much we can think about till the next wave of information. I can say that despite my silence I remain nice and hyped!
  14. Honestly the idoneth may like seeing more lumineth around. Dohm-hain is infamous for taking aelven souls, so having more aelves around would be a good thing for them, assuming they are still antagonistic against the lumineth .
  15. Teclis was actually pretty open to allying with other races, at least outside the End Times. In fact, Teclis was the one responsible for humanities use of magic in the first place, so he has a track record of being open. Hell he even works with Malekith in AoS, the biggest elven arsehole in the world. but I can still see him having a grudge with sigmar after messing with his enlightment engine.
  16. Man, looking at the placement of the cities is actually pretty fun, anvilguard and hallowheart where a lot closer than I thought, and the other cities in this area seem like they could use an expansion. I could almost see a story of hallowheart creating a canal from their sea to the main ocean just to have better trading lanes with the other cities. Heck, I would love to see the roads or paths between these places. also is it just me or does hammerhal aqshy look like it’s way to the sea is completely screwed over?
  17. True, but I see the hammers being used in a martial arts way, like in the Raid 2. In that movie we see characters using two claw hammers and bats in fairly graceful ways, less smashing and bashing and more precise hits with the hammer. I think this would work better if the hammers where smaller on the model, but with magic anything is possible.
  18. It’s kinda funny how we have a setting where we have not only snake elf hybrids, but eels riding elves that can fight literally anywhere by bringing the ocean with them, but suddenly elves wielding hammers is too much. (Even for me a few pages back) i think we’re forgetting that the elves are linking with the natural spirits of hyish in the form of elements. I think we’re going to see spirit boosted elves wielding these hammers, which a lot of people already discussed. Plus, it’s not like elves where strength 2 or of supremely lower strength than human in the game settings. They are a bit weaker, but most of them have the same stats in games like warhammer fantasy battles and warcry, so it’s not too much of a stretch for me to see an elf using a hammer compared to a human using a hammer.
  19. I’m afraid it would be way too tempting for me to not pick up both giants and elves if it’s a dual box, but if it is I think I would be pretty happy none the less. Maybe even get another person to split the contents of two boxes if I got enough money!
  20. Well now that I see the model I really couldn’t be happier for hammer elves, and along with koradrel I will eat my crow. I think they are using the hollow hammer head, but those detail aside that background picture makes them look bloody cool... and I am happy they are flesh and blood elves rather than elementals! Maybe they are hopped up on special elemental spirits compared to the elves normal allotment.
  21. If it’s only a few weeks away I gotta start selling more of my ravenwing. I need a higher elf fund dammit!
  22. Oh heck yea that would be awesome. A little tzeentchy, but if that is our centerpiece not teclis hero i’d Be happy!
  23. I am pretty meh on the article today, but they discussed an awesome looking Calvary unit so i’m pretty happy. I like the look of these guys, and I hope they have some fun rules so I can collect a bunch of them and feed my polish winged hussar need. I also think that like the spears in the phalanx unit they must have some magical stuff to their lance tips to make the charge even stronger. i hope there is more heavy cav stuff coming along though. I love the horse models but I would love something a lot more meaty in terms of mounts. I just hope the book doesn’t pull an idoneth and have three different class systems where rules don’t effect each other.
  24. Man guys are insane! I don’t think I have ever seen a 30 wound monster with 3/6 damage so cheap before... and all the lists I see here have at least two of the dragon ogors. How can people lose with this warband?
