Nurgle Maggotkin: What unit's to suit a theme?

Looking at building a Nurgle themed army as a long burn project. Aim is to do a unit or box of miniatures a month but not buy the next until the first is fully painted.

Theme I've picked is the Garden of Nurgle, and my first unit is a group of Plaguebearers kitbashed with a box of Dryads to give a more woody feel to the models.

Apart from the obvious, Slimux Horticulous, what other units from across the range make sense to include? Happy to include everything including Slaves to Darkness and Clan Pestilens

Any Nurgle Daemon will be perfect for this theme, as the Garden of Nurgle is in the realm of chaos.

If i recall correctly, mortals like Slaves to Darkness do not enter the Garden of Nurgle unless their souls were about to transform to Plaguebearers themselves.

Orgghots Daemonspew for example didn't have access to the garden as he is half mortal. He only visited the garden in a dream like state where he obtained his rot axes, the only thing he could touch there, and kept them in the real world after his visit.

So Unclean Ones, Beasts of Nurgle, Rot Flies, Nurglings and all the daemon goodness are your best choice if you want to keep it strictly Garden themed.

Of course you can add mortals and say that the army is raiding the mortal realms and is joined by mortal followers of Nurgle in their quest.

The Mortal's side I'd considered as people preparing an area for the Garden to grow into, for example like the Lord of Blights recently featured in Malign Portent's

Miniature wise, none painted yet but have these

Maybe a war shrine with the alter being a little garden?  I am planning my own version of this.

I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE what you have already worked on. Its brilliant and I'm jealous I didnt come up with the idea.. but will probably shamelessly use it as inspiration for some fun conversions!!!!! That beast is such an amazing conversion. Im truly inspired!

I dont want to be a guy who is "advertising" my stuff in your thread but it might help. I am not trying to steal thunder or pat myself on the back here..but I will link to an imgur album of mine. My rotbringers are inspired from the same vein as your inspiration. All my blightkings and rotbringer mortals have sylvaneth trees growing out of them and I also used cut up grass tufts and flower tufts as other plant material growing out of them. I also used embroidery thread to make vines wrapping around some, and also GW creeping vines to wrap around my Glotkin.  I figured the mortals are walking piles of compost and probably make great germinating surfaces. I am an arborist IRL and I have seen saplings growing out of the holes and cavities of other trees that have a bunch of decaying organic matter lodged in there.

Took this army to NOVA2017 and got runner up best army to Jacob from frontline gaming. Even though my technical painting skills arent up to his level, the judges commented that the creativity, basing and theme played a HUGE role in their scoring.

I designed the flower to be like Rafleshia arnoldii. which secretes a small of rotting flesh/dead carcasses to use flys (normally attracted to rotting meat) as pollinators.
