The specialist games team have developed the rules for vehicles and infantry so can fully expect to see this as an expansion in the future. If it's HH only, I'll pass. That era holds no interest for me. It sounds like a Dreadfleet error repeat. Man O War was awwwwwwesome, and GW out-clevered itself by trying to evolve, so to speak, the game when a remake with modern tech and design advancements would have been much better. Ollie Grimwood
Adeptus Titanicus and Space Marine were set in the Horus Heresy, in fact quite a few of the HH characters from the early novels were mentioned in Space Marine first edition. It wasn’t until 2nd Ed Space Marine that the game was set in the “current” timeline.
Sleboda
True, but the Epic I enjoyed included orks, tyranids, squats (land train and overlords airship), guard, and elder. Mortarion and Magnus were huge demons already. It was not just marines in blue vs irritable marines in red, all wearing outdated armor. That's what HH is, and it bores me to tears as a table top experience. How freakin' cool would Necrons be in Epic? The giant floating machines FW could make would be, well, epic. ? Nice game but I personally would have liked it to be more like Man O War. As for new Titan Game, I happy with it set in Heresy as long as models and game is good
Menkeroth
Dreadfleet was great but it was designed to be an alone boxed game and nothing else which is a shame, really. They could at least have released captain minis the usual GW scale and this only would have been great, not saying about other possibilities. Sleboda
Yeah, I liked Dreadfleet too, but it really had a chance to recapture the glory of MoW and they opted not to do it. Missed trick, in my opinion. Ah well, good luck to them on the license. Open mind here.
Ollie Grimwood
Man o War was a full blown Wargame though and Dreadfleet a one off board game. I think we’re more likely to see the latter from this partnership. However it might be like the MB partnership where GW makes an advanced version of the game like they did with Heroquest and Space Crusade. I’d say a Heroquest or Space Crusade style game with prepainted miniature ( or even models in multiple coloured plastics) would be a clever release . Thinking on Man o War I think that it would have fitted and worked much better in AoS than WFB. It was turned up to
Blutsteigen
Keep in mind Wizkids produces board games very well. Their stand - alone Mage Knight box is complex, yet highly regarded. It is their collectible market -- clix, Dice Masters, etc. that they tend to flood with too many releases, poor rules, and mediocre pre paints. In essence to me, there is great possibility here, but GW is talking to the slightly manic, impulsive guy on the other end of the prison yard, and I hope they be careful. Mr. White
^agree. I wasn't much a fan of FFG...but Wizkids is multiple levels below FFG...

I contributed writing to several FFG books, so I suppose I could be biased, but I thought they did a nice job with the license, and many of their other games are really good as well. For purely curiosity-based reasons, I'd love to know why the deal ended. Maybe because they are doing their own table top miniatures war games now? Including D&D Attack Wing which is based on Fantasy Flight's X-Wing game but has units of ground troops.
