Hello, I have a question relating to allegiance keywords I was hoping somebody helpful could assist with. I have a lot of Slaanesh and slaves to darkness stuff, so I can put it into an army under either the Hedonites or Slaves to Darkness allegiance. One of the models is the ogroid myrmidon, but as far as I can see, if I run a S2D allegiance he gains the Slaanesh keyword (through the allegiance ability Aura of Darkness, since he’s a Slaves to Darkness Hero) and if I run the army as a Hedonites force he Has to ally in, and cannot gain the Slannesh keyword - which freezes him out of certain abilities, such as Euphoric Killers (only affects Chaos Slaanesh models). It seems odd That as the army gets more Slaanesh-specific, he loses allegiance? any advice on if I’m reading it wrong would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, I see from the latest preview of cards that quite a few bits of artwork - for example on Cryptic Companion or Leadbone Dust - seem to feature Daughters Of Khaine. Is there anything out there rumour-wise about them getting an upcoming warband? I imagine it’d be highly entertaining to play, so I’d be keen!

Hello all, I am trying to get into SCasts a bit more seriously and hoped people on here might be able to offer advice on how they go about building a 2k list? I don’t want to have an optimal list: just one with some favourite models that still offers some nice combinations to get fun games with friends. I love the stardrake model, so want to include it. A love of heavy cavalry also led me to pick a unit of four fulminators plus a Lord Celestant on a Dracoth to be their ‘leader’. I also took a Knight-Heraldor to let them repeatedly charge. Beyond that I’m not too bothered, so I took a few battleline units plus some other heroes. Does anybody have any suggestions on other good options? Thanks in advance for the input!

Hello, everyone. I’m sure this is a question that keeps popping up, but I occasionally toy with the idea of collecting a small DoK force. As far as I can tell, the Start Collecting kit has gone, the battleforce kit is away, and the cauldron set appears to be out of stock on the GW website. This seems like a big obstacle for newcomers: is there anything out there rumour-wise about what’s going on?

Hello all, I’ve got a DC army which I had themed to play much like the Old World dark elves, with witch elves, assassins, drakespawn knights, etc dropped in as allies. Now we are seeing a lot of these tied together in the previews for the imminent Cities of Sigmar battletome. So, what do people think of the potential for a CoS ‘Darkling Covens/Dark Elves’ army? I know you’d lose the DC-specific faction abilities and artefacts from GHB19 to be replaced with who-knows-what, but it does appear to let a lot more units be in your army without being classed as allies. Could be interesting, I hope? What do other folk on here think?

Hello, sure somebody can answer this in an instant, but I have searched around and failed to find it anywhere. If you have a DoK army, and select the Shadowhammer Compact battalion, do the stormcast units within it count as allies? I know they do not have the DoK allegiance, so typically I would think of them as allies. However the absolute minimum spend for this battalion would be 460pts - exceeding the 400pt limit on allies in a 2k matched play game. Is the battalion simply unplayable in this context?

Hm, interesting. I did see only a few were left, like one or two of the 40k ones, or S2D and so on. It seems a bit of an odd situation for new folk getting into the faction, when your most obvious starting point is taken away - I don’t even think there is a Start Collecting set at the moment. ☹️

This might be old news to folk on here (and apologies if it is), but I’ve long harboured ideas of a DoK army and recently noticed the Battleforce box for the ‘Devoted of Khaine’ has vanished from online. It would’ve been a great starting point, so has anybody heard anything about what’s going on?

Hi @Mordread thanks for replying! I personally don't yet have the Forbidden Power book, so I'm not too knowledgeable on the specific artefacts, but I do have the Nighthaunt battletome. I like the models in the range, but wasn't ever quite sure what to take in an army. Your list caught my eye as it contained the things I liked, and seemed like a good solid force for a game (like you, I don't play competitively, just casually.) Let us know how you get on with your first game - lots of people seem to float ideas on here, and it's also interesting to hear how the lists do when they're put into practice!

Hi, this might be the right place to ask this, but I also have a question about abilities. If a force picks an allegiance (stormcast, lets say for example) it gets lots of allegiance abilities from the battletome - but does it also get the grand alliance-wide ability (for order) as well, or is it an either/or thing?

Hi everybody, I'm planning to get my first 2000-point army assembled, and just wanted to get some input. I'm not seeking a super-competitive list, but I would like it to be decently fun to play and have a good synergy or two. I'm also not too sure about weapons choices etc, so thoughts would be welcome. I have done a list largely on what I found fluffy and interesting, so the list is for the Anvils of the Heldenhammer, in Ulgu, and leans away from magic and Sacrosanct options - basically because I just liked all those things! Hi, quick question for folk: if you are building a smaller army for a 1000-pt game, would you consider a KoS viable? Or is it just too much of a points drain?

Ah, thanks @EMMachine I think I see what you’re saying. To get any exalted chariot, you basically need to buy the start collecting box or two of the seeker chariot boxes. The herald is, I presume, just a figure option in either set. Thanks for that!

Hello all, I have a question relating to the Slaanesh start collecting set, which I imagine you can easily answer. Basically, I see there are about three or four variants on the chariot model which it contains: the exalted seeker or the seeker (with or without a herald) or a hellflayer. Basically, am I right in saying these are all variations on one kit, and you can build any of them from the SC box?

Hello all, I have a question which might be a bit basic, but I think would be interesting to people in the same situation. I’m currently thinking of getting into nighthaunt, and would want to get a basic 1000-pt list together to get going. Not competitive, but at least fun to play with. I have the AoS2 box set and the Shadespire thorns of the briar queen models as a base at least. What do people recommend?

I’ve liked the idea of taking a small mounted unit, as the list above has done. Can I ask why people take fulminators for low model-count dracoth units, as opposed to concussors or devastators? Is it for the charge bonuses?

Hi all, I have a question about Dracothian Guard lists. I know that a lot of factions give you the option to do a ‘cavalry-heavy’ army list, but I never seem to hear much about the Stormcast version of this. I believe the units are very strong, so is it poor battalion options? Or just the economic cost of getting enough models? Or something else?

Hello all, can I ask a general question on DoK, and what people on here think of the Shadowhammer Compact battalion? I don’t see much talk about it, and was wondering what the feeling is. The contrast between the SC and DoK seemed quite interesting fluff-wise, I thought.

I’d agree with @Azamar above: good news is that having only one battalion warscroll available means you don’t need to choose. I started myself out by checking on eBay, where you can get decent deals on line troops like dark shards. Then you can go on to buy leaders etc as you require.

Thanks for that - I was a bit baffled about how you are to get models for things like hag queens etc without the kit being actively available!

Hi, can anybody shed some light on the DoK start collecting set? I see it has been removed from the GW website (for a re-boxing?) but do we know when it may reappear?

Hi all, it’s perhsps a measure of my slow progress over the last year with darkling covens that my planned 2000-point army is likely to never set foot (base?) on a tabletop to play under the GH17 system I first used to create it! Oh well, the effort hasn’t been in vain as I’m now poised to get into AoS2 right from the start with an army I’ve collected and painted from scratch. I’m sure it’ll do me well. I’m mainly waiting for the new points values to come out, but has anybody else got any particular ‘thing’ they’re looking for, to update their own DC army?
