  1. I am also a fan of the Wight King on horse firstly because he is a gorgeous model, but also because he unlocks GG as a battleline, which means I can always go with one Skelli block, one Zombie block and a GG block as my battleline, which worked out pretty fine for me so far. Another question I have is concerning the GL-list in the Metawatch article over at WarCom: Can anybody tell me, what the Coven Throne is used for? It doesn't look to pump out insane dmg and seems to be (in my eyes) a pretty expensive buff piece for what it brings to the table, or am I missing something here?
  2. Is it consensus that T-Revs are the only/most viable Battleline we have?
  3. He has only Cows and Mammoths, so no Leadbelchers. I guess, I will try something like this: Allegiance: Soulblight Gravelords - Lineage: Legion of Blood - Mortal Realm: Shyish - Grand Strategy: Prized Sorcery LEADERS Nagash, Supreme Lord of the Undead (970) in Battle Regiment Vampire Lord (140) in Battle Regiment - General - Command Trait: Aristocracy of Blood - Artefact: Orb of Enchantment - Lore of the Vampires: Amethystine Pinions UNITS 30 x Deathrattle Skeletons (255) in Battle Regiment 20 x Deadwalker Zombies (115) in Battle Regiment 20 x Grave Guard (280) in Battle Regiment - Wight Blades & Crypt Shields 10 x Deathrattle Skeletons (85) in Battle Regiment 3 x Fell Bats (75) in Battle Regiment ENDLESS SPELLS & INVOCATIONS Umbral Spellportal (70)
  4. I have a game against BCR coming up and am trying to brainstorm what would be a good list to bring these damn Ogors down. I guess Belladama is not that great, as Lycancurse will be just D3 damage with almost no chance of spawning wolves. Am thinking of bringing the Big Ol' Bonebag himself, as he can really debuff the sh** out of them and really making these 4+ Hit Rolls even worse. As Ogors really want to come at you quickly and charge I would like to have minimum one small unit like Fell Bats in the grave to force him to keep stuff on the backline objectives. What would you think is the better hammer against BCR, GG or BK? And which heroes are worth bringing? Thanks!
  5. I used 2x20 and was not impressed. What I was impressed with is the Vengorian Lord, he is surprisingly durable and with Sangsyron he packs a decent punch for his points on the charge.
  6. I had a game yesterday against StD with my list mentioned a couple of pages ago. I now have one question: What role do you use Zombies for? To be honest for me they felt REALLY underwhelming: They have ZERO punch and also ZERO staying power, so I cannot even use them as reliable objective holders, they just felt really really underwhelming.
  7. Oh yes, Battle Regiment is wrong, it should be Warlord. The thing is, I have not enough Wolves ready, that's why I play the 2x 20 Zombies, instead of 20 Zombies + 10 Wolves. I also thought about switching the Vamp on Foot for Necro, to gain max value from the Skellies, I guess I will try it, thanks.
  8. I have a game coming up tomorrow and wnated to share my list with you guys: Allegiance: Soulblight Gravelords - Lineage: Vyrkos Dynasty - Mortal Realm: Shyish - Grand Strategy: Prized Sorcery - Triumphs: Belladamma Volga, First of the Vyrkos (200) in Vanguard - Lore of the Vampires: Spirit Gale Radukar the Beast (315) Vengorian Lord (280) in Battle Regiment - General - Command Trait: Pack Alpha - Artefact: Sangsyron - Universal Spell Lore: Flaming Weapon Vampire Lord (140) in Battle Regiment - Artefact: Ulfenkarnian Phylactery - Lore of the Vampires: Amethystine Pinions 30 x Deathrattle Skeletons (255) in Hunters of the Heartlands - Reinforced x 2 20 x Deadwalker Zombies (115) in Battle Regiment 20 x Deadwalker Zombies (115) in Battle Regiment 20 x Grave Guard (280) in Hunters of the Heartlands - Wight Blades & Crypt Shields - Reinforced x 1 5 x Blood Knights (195) in Hunters of the Heartlands 3 x Fell Bats (75) in Vanguard The Burning Head (20) Total: 1990 / 2000 Reinforced Units: 3 / 4 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 150 Any thoughts, inpur or critique is well appreciated. The Burning Head is only included because I have nothing else to fill the points.
  9. I had my first 3.0 game yesterday with Gravelords against an StD Ravager list. My army was: Vyrkos Dynasty Belladama Big Radukar Wight King on Steed Vengorian Lord Vampire Lord 30x Skellies 20x Zombies 10x Dire Wolves 20x Grave Guard 3x Fell Bats 3x Vargheists My takeaways are: - Radukar hits like a truck. - Under a Killing Moon + Wight King CA on the Grave Guard turns them into an absolute blender, murdering almost everything - Vengorian Lord is a really flexible threat. I played him with Sangsyron and the Flaming Weapon spell and between his high move, flying and relatively small base size, he is a very good option for killing medium tanky units, threatening backline objectives only lightly protect etc. - Skellies are the definition of a tarpit, they survived 3 full rounds of combat against a fully buffed Lord on Karadrak + Lord on Manticore, basically winning me the game. - Vargheists are meh. - I will never leave the house without at least one unit of Fell Bats. Fast, cheap, always staying out of range of really dangerous enemies, then in one crucial moment tagging a large blob of Chaos Warriors for preventing them to pile in massively into my Grave Guard. Overall I am really happy with both the 3.0 rules and how Gravelords play. Even though my list was far from refined and was really just a test I felt really comfortable with the many different tools I had at my disposal.
  10. I wouldn't write off the TLA completely. As CP will be the ressource that most armies will have to manage as efficient as possible, his CA giving possibly our whole army rr Save rolls of 1 could be really efficient if you combine it with lets say AA defence on a key unit.
  11. The picture doesn't show. Could you elaborate what it is about?
  12. Yeah, I saw the same picture, but as I said, THW said on Twitter that she went up, so I guess it is 740.
  13. You sure? In that leak from the Italian BR: Kragnos version it looks more like 740 and the Honest Wargamer also tweeted that she went up in points.
  14. Do we know which units are included in the "Legion of Shyish" Batallion?
  15. So, what do we hope for for the new Alarielle Warscroll?
  16. You could drop Cogs + 1x BW for the TLA, which could be worth.
  17. I guess there is no consent right now what "the hardest" list is right now. From my point of view Winterleaf + many Hunters with close to zero need for successful casting is the most competitive that we can field right now.
  18. Do we know how many Broken Realm books GW plans to release?
  19. I just have 4 very achievable points that would help us a lot from my perspective: 1.) Give Alarielle survivability, e.g. 5+ FNP 2.) Make TLA a meaningful caster, e.g. with a 2nd cast and +1 near woods. 3.) Make Free Spirits batallion run and charge/shoot 4.) Do something about Bow Hunters
  20. Thats also what I hope for and combined with blood-mad naked cannibals it would make for a fantastic battletome I guess.
  21. As sad as it might be, I guess we should not expect the Oldhammer structure of vampiric society to be transported into AoS. Just taking the rumour of putting everything into one book as a reference point from which to speculate, I would guess that it will be something of a Warclan book: We get the feral vampires, running rampant through rotten kingdoms with their mordant minions and we will get the aristocratic vampires, ruling cities and kingdoms in Big N's stead, who are necromants and warriors. And we can play a combined force of both, who are called to war by Big Ol' Rattlebones himself. Of course this all is (relatively) baseless speculation.
  22. I have to say that I really like the thought that FEC would be rolled into the Gravelords thing...if it is made well.
  23. @Pennydude please throw a list together, would really love to see this.
  24. I guess offensively only Greenwood Gladius and Crown of Fell Bowers are choices to even think about, right? Defensively I would say only Briarsheeth is worth considering...But in 9 out of 10 cases I gues I would choose an offensive variant. Crown has insane blowout potential if you hit the stomp and can smash into something with Durthu and potentially 1 or even two squads of Scythe/Sword wielding angry trees, while Greenwood Gladius turns Durthu into a murder machine if he hits the charge. Sadly in everything we can do, a lot of really crucial dice rolling is involved, like casting and turning on Spitswarm Hive, hitting the crucial stomp etc...i know that we are talking about a dice game, but my feeling is that especially with Durthu it is VERY important to hit these rolls, because of his brutal drop-off after suffering even a couple of wounds.
