  1. You have the fighter's stat? Mind sharing?
  2. The Thrall abilities is the worse version of Sweeping Blow from other faction, which itself isn't even a good abilities. Unless GW introduce grass mowing in future expansion. Doesn't matter since Thralls is the best 80 pts unit in the game.
  3. The only bad double is sweeping blow, probably useful once GW introduce ...mowing grass mission. Throwing star is extra damage, usually better than onslaught at dice value 3-6 if you can only attack once. Not the most fun or creative ability but they get the job done Acrobatic Leap allow you to leap over walls and platform.
  4. Zarbag's git alone is also not enough for 1k points. If you were buying this + any other Gloomspite gitz kit it'd bring the total cost about the same or higher than Stormcast band But a single box of Stabba/Shoota do have enough body for a gitz team, for 35USD. These are cheap because they're decade old kits. The Stormcast Raptor was released in 2017. If you were to go maximum nickel and dime Stormcast band is still cheaper than many bands. 1 Raptor + 1 gryphound orFarstrider. And Gryph-hound can be split. So 1 raptor + 1/2 Gryph-hound bring the total cost to 47.5USD.
  5. The Vanguard Raptor kit itself is already dirt cheap folk. You get 6 fighters out of it. Similar kit would've been 60 USD in GW's price. Look at Evocator, the Raptor was somehow under the rada for a long time at 35USD.
  6. More attack equal more (likelyhood to ) crit. And crit in Warcry do BONKER damage.
  7. 3-15. 20 is max roster size. Roster is a pool of fighters that you can pick to form your warband.
  8. You can, but you lose all of your triple/quad dice, for example you have a quad and you use it for a double, you lose all your quad, you didn't get to use 2 double with a quad. Also note that rapid fire only give bonus attack to the next attack action, which mean for most case unless you got triple 5 or 6, if you're going to attack twice, it is better to use Onslaught instead. Which give +1 attack to both your attack.
  9. 5/6 of their abilities are fighter-specific. First 3 in GW store page. 4th Triple: Darting attack (gryph-hound) : Make a bonus attack action, follow by a bonus disengage action. 5th : Triple: Rapid Fire (Hurricane Crossbow) : Add half dice value to the next attack action (round up) 6th: Quad: Aimed Strike(Longstrike crossbow) : added dice value to damage from hit/critical hit this activation. Also remember everyone can use Onslaught (universal double ability) that give +1 attack this activation, meaning Longstrike crossbow can shoot 4 time, this is an essential ability for them, even better than the Quad.
  10. Very well-made team, all of the fighters are cool and interesting. Longstrike and Hurricane crossbow are probably the most important factor. The birds are also great filler and support unit with their insane 12" move, fly. Onslaught (universal double : +1 attack ) is the most important abilities, even more than aim strike for Longstrike crossbow. basically wipe any tier 1 fighters right of the bat.

Actually they just put a ruler over it and it's not exactly 3", but I guess that's rounding up because the example rule did claim it is 3" It's still a gimmick imo, as the setup is obvious, and also require at least 2 move (climb + dive) as oppose to just move up to people and hit them. Impact damage is not a big deal, but I figure most people won't stay near a platform if you're right above them, so a fall would happen quite often.

But they have much better sculpt than the Ardboys kit, and also cheaper, come with scenic bases. The easiest band that you can build is 5 brute. Should come at 990-995 points. The other is 8 Ardboys. And then there're the mix list. My advice is to get the brute first, then Ironskulls boyz or Ardboys, but seriously, It'll be great if you can find someone to split the ardboys box with. The ardboys box give you 15 ardboys, they're 3 sets of the same 4 ardboys + leader, which mean you can split it with 3 people if you want to.
  13. They're kinda gimmicky right now. From the GMG battle report, the starter set platform is almost 3", not high enough to activate their jump attack. And also you take impact damage while doing that.
  14. They're kinda bad, but if you only had 120 -130 left mind as well take one instead of a Chainrasp.
  15. Actually I just noticed that the Crypt Ghouls box give you 20 ghouls, while the Start Collecting only give 10. So if you only play WC exclusively buying Crypt Horror + Crypt Ghouls box might be a better choice (total price still the same as Start Collecting) With 20 ghouls you can do both Ghouls spam and Big Ghouls + small ghouls to your heart content. 14 small ghouls + ghouls leader. That's a lot of activations.
  16. Well there're the 1k Wallet build with 1 FEC start collecting box (and you also get a big dragon, obviously unusable for this game): 1 bat leader + bat + big ghoul + 5x small ghouls. Or 1 Big Ghoul Leader + 2 Bat + 5 small ghouls. And there're the big spender build with 1 Start Collecting FEC and 1 Crypt Horror box. Which now allow you to build something like : 1 small ghoul leader + 4x Big ghouls + 2 small ghouls, that's 995 pts.

Well the price for the new terrain set (Shattered Stormvault) is in and it's the same as the Mausoleum, so if you really had lots of 90US$ to spare I'd suggest you buying multiple of that set instead. Or if you want to expand the ruins terrain from the core set, get the Azyrite ruins/townscape. There're also AoS objectile, and Shadespire Objectile that you can buy to replace those "objectile token" in the game. There're lots of better way to spend that 90$
  18. Certainly these foil pack are cheaper than cardboard box, with shrink wrap.
  19. If you have a long weapon and you poke someone with a short weapon, you're forcing them to spend a move action if they want to hit you. Otherwise you'll get hit back two time. All chaos warbands had long weapons, Ironjawz will be struggling vs poke team that also shutdown movement like The Unmade.

  21. The other abilities are on their store page. Spirit Host's ability had hit count as crit , but their Str is kinda meh. Soul Mark Prey does help, a little.
  22. DOK look like they can have more than 1 option for Leader.
  23. Depend on price, I'd suggest you to pick up the Shattered Stormvault instead, they have very tall and flat pillars that'd make some interesting climb and swooping dive. Plus I'm also not a fan of the Mausoleum, GW remove some sprues from the kit (compared to the separated Mausoleum) They used to pack you the whole things plus some extra (card+cardboard) back then (like they did in Kill team), especially for decade old kit like the Mausoleum.
  24. I don't know if you had noticed but Mausoleum is a bad field to accompany Corvus Cabal. The Mausoleum is flat with nothing to climb to, that'd make 3 of their abilities useless.
