  1. Only played a few games of 3 but really have not missed S&T at all
  2. So ive pretty much finished rebasing my old Eshin army for a narrative campaign our group is running. I know im likely to suck and die anyway but is it worth stacking the night runners into big units to get the melee/morale bonuses or are they better off staying small and agile? Opponents are primarily Death and Chaos if that matters and we are all rusty at best
  3. Eshin would be my hope too, they are missing a big unit (Hopefully Triads) and all their infantry are ancient! A mix of the two for Warcry with some new options or a underworlds Gutter runner team or Assassin Triad would both be ace!
  4. Teeny tiny rumour, a friend on the inside implied something Skaven was coming soon but wouldnt be drawn on what system the git Ofc with all the delays that might still be 2025
  5. Woo, mostly finished rebasing my Eshin army and get a points reduction on half my warscrolls! Ofc now i will have to reshuffle my list again to try and not be like 60 points under due to a lack of cheap options... (Bring back triads and sorcerers!)
  6. 8th also cooincided with Primaris becoming a thing and apparently driving some insane growth in general, tbh i think it was a little of both and 7th had collapsed sales a bit. Sales do go up a bit in spikes on new releases but its not a s straightforward as new rules or you would see similar spikes with prominent army books. I think a lot of people fancy a new army but also all those starter boxes, rulebooks, snazzy dice, note books, objectives etc etc that come with every new edition get picked up by almost every player of the games.
  7. Definitely agree rules arent the main driver of mini sales, you have to remember the vast majority of hobbyists just arent as tuned in to the games as the online minority are, let alone gift buyers and pure painters etc. The most prolific customer i had in my store came in every few days, picked a box they liked the look of and painted it, then came back for another. Did a few into games over the years, i suspect out of politeness but never changed
  8. Our group is planning a Path to glory weekend/campaign in January and its brought me all sorts of keen, so much i painted a unit of random gryph hounds whilst waiting for some filler to dry on my mass rebasing of Skaven...
  9. I think the Dwarves are fairly sought after, paint stripping is fairly straightforward if folks are buying second hand so wouldnt worry too much about it
  10. I do think having the AoS page share the obviously 40k rumour images is a bit of a pisstake
  11. I think I have some sprues in my garage, if you are stuck pm me Tuesday to have a look (I'm over my folks!)
  12. Im sadly untechnical, is there a reason the text of this is black on a black background?
  13. I'm sure any new unit for the worst dwarves will be something indistinguishable from the other units, but with crossbows, that "fyre" AXES. Rad.
  14. Yeah Soulblights makes sense when they are essentially just adding the 3rd Ed faction specific odds and ends in WD, if you want an army saving you need an army book or a generals compendium
  15. Plus GWs shareholders are mostly companies that dont micromanage afaik, as long as GW is making money they are happy enough, they know little if anything about the games themselves.
  16. I suspect we might get a mix of Eldar and, uh, i dunno, Slaan rumour engines this season maybe?
  17. Yeah the rumour engine is pretty worthless, it would be better if they compiled the unsolved ones together, maybe grouping the related ones for some actual intrigue.
  18. My current unpopular opinion, maybe the double turn row could have its own thread rather than periodically making this one unbearably tedious?
  19. Any rumour giving solid releases beyond 3 months gets increasingly unlikely, stating solid releases for over a year ahead? Made up.
  20. Ok National socialist for context on what word was censored
  21. A ****** openly attending a Spanish tournament and being supported by the organisers when folks didnt want to play an open ******.
  22. Except, not selling digital copies does absolutely nothing to stop piracy, all it does is change the pdf to scan and waste one dudes afternoon. Well, that and punish all the legitimate customers obviously. 1. You dont need to tie the digital release to the physical one if thats delayed, hell, that might even boost sales if some FOMO types end up buying both. 2, The digital version IS gone, the app does not contain the full content, not is useable on a PC. Its not an equivalent product. 3. You are also assuming digital customers will switch back to books, which is a pretty flawed assumption, every digital primary customer i know for example, (flawed methodology i know but its what ive got) just stopped buying the books entirely or limited themselves to specific armies rather than grabbing everything just in case. The margin on no sale is 0 Its just so self destructive, and the knock ons mean less enthusiasm for the game in general if we arent spending some of our time between games reading up on stuff.
  23. And yeah, GW being so damn backwards and insistent on paper books right now sucks.
  24. Got this months WD through today, only had a chance for a brief look but the Tome Celestial Cities of Sigmar is very workmanlike, nothing unexpected or crunchy to do with Crusades just giving the new edition things to the army, not even a battalion unless i missed it
