  1. But he doesn't do anything besides being able to issue commands does he? If the Jabbertoad was able to work better, that would be something. I'm gonna get the model though, just too good to not paint.
  2. I can't think of another Forgeworld unit that is in a battletome; doubtful the Hag will in the next tome. But Mollogg probably will be (I see the deer aelves are in the Sylvaneth book), and hopefully he'll do something useful besides look fantastic!
  3. I've got a bag full of tiny rats from all the Plague Monk kits. I think that'll make a Vermintide and maybe some rat swarms too. Those could be screens of sorts. But I took a deeper look at the goofy doomwheel I got, and looks like the pegs and holes still line up, just with those cross-piece brackets towards the backside. I should be able to cobble together some bits to hold it together then. Not sure I'll add the ginormous flags, but they certainly are dramatic looking!
  4. Since a charge is a move, I couldn't think anything but having charged means having made a charge move. On an annoying note, the Doomwheel I got off eBay was partially assembled, and the geared wheel hubs were glued all wrong, so no way to assemble it successfully 😛 So no double Doomwheel list yet. But looks like one can fit 4 of them, plus 4 Lightning Cannons, 2x10 and 1x5 Acolytes, plus 2 Engineers and an Arch Warlock in 2k points. 4 drop army with 2 battle regiments. Could be worth proxy-trying, but I so want to see the real deal on the table.
  5. Just got my 1 doomflayer in the mail today along with my 3 ratling guns. I don't have 60 clanrats, not really thinking I'll ever want them....but that's a great battle vs the Ogors you had! I'll pelt them with globes, lightning, and 2 Doomwheels.
  6. Ooh I hope the Chorfs come back, because my big metal hatted ones stand at the ready!
  7. Age Of Sigmar: Cities Of Sigmar | Facebook Anyone see this? And what are your thoughts, fears, prayers, suspicions.... Saw there's some rumors floating around....not looking good for Freeguild! Though maybe they could be proxied as these new supposed Azyrite peoples? Hopefully that pans out and they're basically new sculpts, and on the same size bases! I'm a bit worried my Hurricanum and Frostheart Phoenix won't be useable though. Guess I'll hang onto my Runelords, Longbeards, and Warden King though. Sold off 2 Steam Tanks already and 2 Gyrocopters...gotta pay for some Chaos Dwarves, who can be Cities, Azgorh, or Slaves to Darkness!
  8. I picked up 3 rattling gun teams, another doomeheel and a doomflayer. Very eager to see if the flayer can get into something meaty and cause some mayhem. Holy cow though, I was looking at Plague Censors! A double reinforced unit w a prayer or two and attacking when slain and on the charge w AOA, that's like...about the most possible damage I can think of besides Chosen w all the buffs. Of course they have to get there intact. Something like this seems potent: Grey Seer 2 Plague Priests Plague Furnace Verminlord Corruptor 2x15 Plague Censors battleline Bounty Hunters 4x10 Plague Monks Vermintide Great plagues going off at least a couple times probably ?!
  9. How I miss the olden days with the massive bits book at the GW store. My old metal Terminators were the COOLEST, with all long tusks and chainaxes. My current FLGS doesn't have nearly the 2nd hand stuff they used to. Just not economically beneficial for them to buy old armies I guess, plus everyone knows about eBay now.
  10. Poor little rats! They needed some Acolytes, Lightning Cannons and Doomwheels, like my Skryre army is getting.💣 I'm by no means a StD expert, haven't played with the new tome yet. But I think combining the 2 Knights into a single unit could prove a good idea. I think they could all still strike in 2 ranks since they're battleline and will be within 1/2" of someone else in base-to-base with the enemy. That way they'll all get Daemonic Speeded at once, and truly wipe out pretty much everything they hit. The Doom Sigil and Daemon Prince are questionable in this army, not sure what they provide. I think a ranged MW endless spell would be better (Darkfire spitting one perhaps?) and some furry underpants Untamed Beasts for pregame move screening units maybe? The Chosen probably need to be Slaanesh for the run and charge, at least I think that's what the Mark of Slaanesh does. Or have them run up with screen units around them. Didn't realize how many points they are though! They'll always be a primary target cuz ppl know they'll get clobbered if the Chosen hit home. You can always save the Daemon Prince for a good roll on the Eyes of the Gods table too.
  11. Excellent use of those extra bits! I was considering buying some old Skull Pass 'Sourbreath' troggs for that purpose. I'm really eager to get the Troggs onto the table! Got some 50mm bases for my Fellwaters, and 3 more Rockguts to assemble. Decorative crystals have arrived. Thinking some magical assistance will be needed though...so I got Skragrott to do Hand of Gork (pretty sure that will stay) and a Fungoid to launch Mork's Mushroom, but I also kinda think a Spider Shaman on foot to cast Scutteltide could be useful as well.
  12. If you took just a Sorcerer Lord and one endless spell to fit points....80. 4x20 Warriors. One for each Chaos god! If it was a cheap endless spell, maybe a pet Chaos Spawn for the Sorcerer too.
  13. Hmmm, I hadn't looked at any of the feeble human possibilities in the tome. I have something in mind for them that would make the look like going forwards on a sideways base now. It'll be weird!
  14. Wondering if some Screamers might be good allies. Super fast to intercept charges, and at 3 wounds each, not super easy to remove models. I also like that they can cause MW for any type of move they do, and good for absorbing Unleash Hell if needed. Can't think of an equally fast StD unit that's a good cheap screen; need something to keep up with Chariots and Knights to kinda block off undesirable interferences.
  15. I'd love to do some conversion but lack the bits for it right now. I've spent more on bits for something lately than just buying the models 🙄
  16. Oh no, I'm not a WAAC player by any means. I just love Chaotic Chaos armies and the memorable moments they make Got my eyes on some weapon teams. Hopefully I can snag 'em for a deal!
  17. Aw, man, Levitate would be so awesome with 8D6" movement! How about this tweek: Arch Warlock (general, Deranged Inventor, Vial of the Fulminator) 2 Warlock Engineers 3x5 Acolytes for Battleline 4x10 Acolytes for not battleline 4 Ratling Guns (which maybe trading 2 out for Warpfire Throwers could be good?, have some spare points) 2 Warp Lightning Cannons Vermintide Wondering if a 2nd Arch Warlock would be beneficial? I like their higher save and extra spell casting. Gotta find some weapon teams. Always liked those guys. Doomflayers look pretty sweet, but hard to find the models. Guess I could probably whip some up from bits. Really hard to fathom how GW hasn't come up with a plastic kit for these in like 25 years or something; I mean besides that poison mortar team from...Island of Blood was it?
  18. Tis true, there's always a counter build. I've got one Doomwheel on the way from GW. I'll give it a whirl.....and then maybe want another Doomwheel. Thinking my Arch Warlock would take Deranged Inventor and Vial of the Fulminator, which of course is excllent for making use of the Doomwheels as a sort of long range artillery.
  19. Deal! No Stormfiends for my Skaven army. Hmmm, can we put the weapon teams in Acolytes? Thought it said we have to put them in Clanrats or Storm Vermin. Or just run them up the field?!
  20. Already gearing up for Adepticon, which I think is the biggest wargaming tournament in the USA? Certainly one of the biggest. Which army should I try to get ready for it? So many choices, and all NOT done; I can't decide what to focus on! AdeptiCon – March 22nd – 26th, 2023
  21. Thinking about my horde of Acolytes army....is it silly to not take a unit of Stormfiends instead of 20 Acolytes? Acolytes only have 2 more wounds than 3 Stormfiends, but the latter has so much a better save, and great damage output, decent in melee too. Just wondering if a little more diversity would pay greater dividends. So instead of: 2x Arch Warlocks 2x Warlock Engineers 1 Doomwheel 2 Lightning cannons 5x5 and 4x10 Acolytes Vermintide it would end up at 3x10 and 3x10 Acolytes but w 3 Stormfiends. I'm thinking a bit more threat extension could be good. That said, I'm still going to make that many Acolytes, and probably up to 90 (got a good deal on tons of Plague Monks and Clanrats to convert). Was looking at the Plague Furnace too but wow that's a ton of points. I think if I went that route I'd probably take another couple Plague Priests to really get the Plagues off. Protected by tons of Acolytes, hmmm, maybe that could be okay....though they just stink in combat. I think they need to be run in layers like a glowing poison onion.
  22. What color is loonstone supposed to be? Like unhealthy urine yellow, kinda deep yellow-orangey? Or more neon greenish-yellow? Trying to figure out what stone to carve a Bad Moon from. I like to make pendants for each of my armies. And should it be opaque or translucent/transparent? Seems like it would be more opaque, but I can't remember what the lore says about it, other than it's lightweight but very hard.
  23. What about running all Yhetees and Gnoblars? Viable?!?
