  1. That sounds like a good starting off point. I’m gonna brainstorm some ideas and write something. Hopefully we can motivate others to join in.
  2. That sounds good to me. 1000 isn’t hard to get especially when you lay on the world building. Look at A song of ice and fire, most of those books are him laying the scene for a little bit of action. I thought it was kind of humorous how much dialogue he put into the books but the show tried filling as much action as possible into the story. I say we set atleast a basic prompt like essays like it should be a conversational piece about fluffing out what we already have with more concrete details or an action piece that introduces the audience to the main cast of races/characters that are important for people to get a real feel for Calderos.
  3. Has anyone written up anything? I have been on a painting streak so I haven’t had time to devote to writing. I really hope this thread isn’t 💀.
  4. @Baron Klatz I completely agree. Reading the newer stories is cool especially when it opens up new perspectives like the court of the blind king. I know a lot of people want to say they are like space marines but they deal with more metaphysical topics like life and death and the nature of dreams and memories from a mystic outlook. Like 2+tough said it’s really all about the nature of self and the primary motif of identity that really makes stormcasts something else entirely. I think they did a good job with it as an aside from the perspective of mortal beings but in all honesty it feels like they are still trying to cling onto what little humanity they have left like some space marines but in a far more relatable. Also they get major points for being einherjar from Norse mythology with Sigmar being Odin. Really that and the way they described them fighting was really cool all working in cohesion.
  5. From what I understand warrior chambers tend get their name from their lord-celestant’s war name which is a title all stormcast get after they prove themselves to Sigmar or whoever judges that. It’s like an epitaph like being ‘the great’ or whatever. Tridentcrest would need to be referring to some story about a thing the lord-celesta the did.
  6. If they are astral Templars then that could be the name of their warrior chamber
  7. I finally finished these treekin after getting them in December and setting them in alcohol for 5 months. The caked on glue just peeled off and I ended up with these. I know they arnt really sylvaneth but I like these guys and painting them was fun. I also converted a spellsinger into a branchwraith I think of as a thornwych like ylthari from shadespire.
  8. Looking forward to hearing how this goes. I have thought about solo Warhammer in the past after seeing a blog on warseer a few years back. It was rather enjoyable to watch someone’s passion project. Please use pictures it at all possible. Use art from google if you don’t have photos you have taken. I post here on the blogs from time to time just for myself as not many folks in here seem to look at the blogs as much as the rumor or let’s chat threads.
  9. Why not call it dreamwine but I feel like that might be ripping off asoiaf a little. That walking scrimshaw line had me laughing.
  10. We could either have them ima hidden crypt complex underneath the city(something Nagash did as part of his go fund me page) or the city could be subjected to the tithe. I would like to do something about my Tzeentch cabal once I feel I have enough to write something. Maybe from their perspective.
  11. https://ageofsigmar.lexicanum.com/wiki/Heart_of_Winter_(novella) this is a good read for corsairs. It really helps bring them to life in AoS with more relatable motives than they did as dark elves. They are almost integrated in cities like Excelsis or Anvilgard
  12. i would love if sylvaneth were present. I like the idea of the kurnothi protecting vineyards. Maybe we could go full Greek and have little large scale farming with mostly pastoral tracts across the valley.
  13. Sea life would be the greatest resource so from the megalithic monsters to whatever gets brought up in nets and trawls. The scourge privateers could hunt giant monsters on whatever crazy stormwracked liquid metal seas that would pass for deep ocean in Chamon like they do in Ghur. whatever races we end up putting in the setting really would determine that kind of stuff. Like any coastal town they would export what they get from the sea that people further inland can’t get. I.e. fish and apparently magic vineyards on the landward side of the city. I hope that wine would make you hallucinate as well as get you drunk.
  14. Welcome aboard I think the whole point is that anyone can contribute in any way they want. If you want to create that stormhost you are more than welcome to and I’m sure folks will help you along if you need it.
  15. If anything it could be a humorous quip someone says when they see them. they wouldn’t be much for a secret police but they would definitely be noticed like the guys from hamilcar that had glass armor and weapons. the stormhost is definitely something that I can’t figure yet. Perhaps celestial vindicators since most stories about stormcast externals that take place in Chamon have been about them. They have an edgy vibe like the knights excelsior so I could see them getting unhinged and going on pogroms. A good stormcast main character would be a lord veritant for sure. perhaps we could set it up that there are so many secret police forces, gangs and cults that the between good and evil or right and wrong could be distorted so any way you look at it your faction of choice is just doing what they think is right or in their best interests. Like in old cop shows there are always people who have the ability to do what is right but take a selfish or easier route that makes them no better than the people they oppose. Like Khainites making blood sacrifices of Khorne worshipers.
  16. the start of the duardin turf war I wonder if they used the scales of larger fish to make coats of scale mail for the elite guards if they would stink like a wharf.
  17. Anything by Josh Reynolds is good. For me his stories really sold me on the stormcasts as protagonists with Gardus. Like many have said city of secrets, Gloomspite, any of the chaos short story anthologies, the sylvaneth anthology, the eight lamentations are really cool how he ties his characters together with especially the 99 CRow guys. My favorite stories are the early ones that establish how the setting works and introduces the stormcasts during the first few years of the game. Please just catch up on your Hamilcar and you will see they arnt all Uriel Ventris riding a dragon.
  18. Counterfeiting fish scales 🤣🤣 I could see scourge privateers being big players n town.
  19. Do you think the fish in Chamon would have metal scales or bones?
  20. Everything that @JPjrwrote includes everything we have brain stormed on here. The supernatural caldera is a cool idea and still keeps the godbeast we want.
  21. I always imagined the vampires as the ones who spread the cults but them being separate kinds of vampires working at the same time would be cool. I was just wondering what do these people do to eat, then that got me thinking how do they survive with so much intriguing and shadow murder wars. There has to be something that they all want other than food and water for a complex society to exist here. If your familiar with Excelsis think of the prophecy chips they use as currency and you get what I mean. I think if they have a large complex agricultural system That is well established like serfdom or large plantations there would be enough commerce and trade to give rise to this many illicit organizations. The human population kept downtrodden to produce food for the city of mixed races.
  22. I like that the shadow war. We can’t forget the khainites and random smatterings of skaven and moonclan grots living in the literal calcified bowels of the city.
  23. So like the city is built within, around, and upon the remains of a gargantuan drake-like godbeast within the realms of Shadows where like celestial bodies from Chamon come through the sky causing things to change alchemically and in the mouth of the skull is a realmgate to the realm of Death. Underneath of the city is a warren of catacombs as well.
  24. I feel as though sticking the city in Shyish is like putting a huge bullseyes on them. I could understand if the realmgate in the skull led there but actually in Shyish and in the habitable parts is right in the prime area of the OBR expansions. I vote we put the city in a realm other than Shyish as Nagash is pretty ruthless against enemies in his domain and I also feel that using him like they did in Warhammer fantasy as a seducing evil that worms it’s way in like a demon(i.e. Azhag the Slaughterer). If it’s a stable society we are trying to write up they we don’t want to doom having over them right away. The threats can be overt like with roving hordes but I feel it leaves more for the dramatic and suspense if we leave the greater threats as something trying to make its way in and gain control subversively as opposed to crushing oppression like they showed in Aqshy during the realmgate wars. I would vote either Ghyran or Ghur as either of those two have plentiful foodstuffs for the ol’ Inter-Realm trade. Though Chamon would be really cool as there haven’t really been a lot of lore written about it there. There are even places in one realm where the magic of another flows into like an animal graveyard in ghur or an ever active volcano in Ghyran. We could make a place in Ulgu influences by the ever changing ways of Chamon or a corner of Ashy where the life giving powers of Ghyran overflows an a mad jungle that constantly grows has popped up. The way they constructed this setting really does boggle the mind in its possibilities.
