  1. After a day of Warhammer World (http://www.tga.community/blogs/blog/15-hobgoblinblog/) and drinks in Nottingham, we were up bright and early to make the hour drive to Coventry and Warhammer Fest! Somehow, due to roadworks and wrong turns, that hour turned into three. The question cards from Trivial Pursuit kept us occupied and we arrived around 11ish. Blood Bowl was the highlight of the Fest for me, so I'll start with that. I had a good chat with James Hewitt, the writer, and I'm pleased to say he allayed any fears I had. The game will come with two teams (orcs and humans) and will be a 'fraction of the price' of the other boxed games (I'm guessing this means £50/60). Four more plastic teams will follow: skaven, dwarf, nurgle and 'some kind of elf'. Also on release day will be Death Zone Season One, which includes rules for league play. Following all those treats, they have plans for resin teams, resin coaching staff and refs (probably as event-only minis), more Death Zone sets up to at least Season Five. Most interesting is the plan to move the timeline on. Season One will begin with all of the classic star players. As the seasons progress, these players will age, potentially become managers, and be replaced by new, younger stars! There was also this really nice Laketown set coming out for the Hobbit. It might be a tiny bit too small for AoS, but it's a really nice kit. There's a picture of some 40k stuff here too. Dunno how that got in here. @Painted by G entered a few things in Golden Daemon and won a couple of pins! Well done him! Here he is, having just been duped into holding Scott's burger rubbish, next to the only model he entered which didn't win a pin (sorry, it's the only one I photographed). I'm not sure why the slaughterpriest didn't win as he was superb. From sad faces to smiles! We ran into @Dan Heelan who seemed like a thoroughly nice fella and took the photo opportunity. That's pretty much all of the non-blurry pictures I have. I clearly got caught up having fun and forgot to take more. I leave you with a small selection of the entrants to Golden Daemon. I think only two of these won a trophy (the magmadroth and skarbrand). Shows what I know about painting!
  2. I'd like to see some more sylvaneth. I love the dryads. Not overly keen on the treelords. I can see they're nice sculpts, they just done grab me. Are they a bit too 'manga' and cool looking, when the lords of the forest should be ancient and bulky looking? Anyway, we definitely need something treekin sized. What, long ago, we might have called 'monstrous infantry'. My dryads are just sitting on a shelf waiting for some friends.
  3. After many months of waiting, last weekend was the Hobgoblin Club Road Trip! A wonderful time was had by all. On Saturday we visited Warhammer World in Nottingham, and on Sunday we travelled to Warhammer Fest in Coventry (http://www.tga.community/blogs/entry/76-warhammer-fest-hobgoblin-club-road-trip-part-two/). I've kept things brief, as it's only the pics you're interested in anyway. Enjoy! So, we set off early on Saturday morning (8am I think, early for us!) and drove down to Nottingham full of excitement! Premier Inn checked into, we were quickly off down the road to take some obligatory photos of us posing in front of the giant Stormcast, before entering Warhammer World. Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower looks like an excellent release. The first army idea I had for AoS was Tzeentch beastmen, so this box is really of interest. Sadly, I don't think I'll be buying the four/five copies of the game required to get sensible sized units together! It was great to get our hands on the miniatures though. The Mistweaver Saih is a superb model which has got us all very interested in what the future holds for aelfs in AoS. Other treats included seeing some of the Forge World monsters up close for the first time and the new orruks, who looked very impressive in the flesh. After browsing the stores, and each spending varying amounts of money, we headed into the exhibition. This consisted of a single room last time I visited. These days it costs £7 to enter, but it's now pretty large and well worth visiting at least once. Some of the new dioramas are mightily impressive! I'll leave you here with some shots of the what I thought were the best bits (see I said I'd be brief) and follow soon with a post about our visit to Warhammer Fest on the Sunday. Thanks for scrolling! I know those last two images aren't AoS but it was quite a spectacle. So impressive that it almost made me want to take up 40k, almost.
  4. It's a great app. I use it every time I go into a GW store to check my collection.
  5. The sylvaneth aelfs look great! @mhsellwood I'm also a long time dwarf player that's had his head turned by the new aelfs. To be honest, if I was just getting into the hobby today, the fyreslayers wouldn't get a look in next to all of this aelf stuff. Outstanding! Imagine the stuff they could do with aelfs that are emerging from the forest!
  6. @Ben @Chinhampster I've reposted the photos. Working now?
  7. So the photos in this post worked fine? Strange. Maybe I'll upload them again.
  8. Looks smashing. How is the rest of the rebasing progressing?
  9. This a fantastic alternative on Android. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.courageousoctopus.paintrack&hl=en_GB It's easy to catalogue and you can save your recipes in different collections, so no need for a notepad.
  10. Finally laid the rest of the floor and it's looking great! It really finishes of the 'Is this a shed or a sauna?' look. Also got the electrics in the shed finished. They just need to be hooked up to the house, which will be done while I'm away at Warhammer Fest.
  11. Hmn. They work for me on my laptop and phone. @Chinhampster I'm assuming you can see them?
  12. It seems waaaayy too long! I'm watching it every day, with desperate eyes. After we get back from Warhammer Fest it should be done other than the windows. Nearly there!
  13. Having waited a week for materials to arrive, the Blood Shed build is moving again! The roof is now tiles and I have to say that I'm over the moon with it. I'm not sure the name 'Shed' will suffice for this place. I've seen less substantial bungalows! Scroll down for more progress... So the roof is on and just needs finishing off tomorrow. Today has also seen the internal electrics almost completed and the floor started. I feel like it's all coming together at once. The double glazing is due Monday!
  14. I really like these. Some subtle work gone on there.
  15. I'm worried how much money plastic Tzeentch toys are going to cost me this year.

  16. I can't work out what's going on with his face. I'm seeing something dog-like.
  17. I really like this table! Would love to have a game on it!
  18. I love to hear this. Confirmation that AoS is dragging in new blood.
  19. They are beauts. I want to see an old school chaos army, like you had years ago. Get a unit of Gor in there too!
  20. It is a beautiful thing. Put it away in a special place where it can never get damaged though. Stop balancing it on cork scenery!
  21. The door was hung to day and the window frames assembled for the two windows which will open. The door is a nice old reclaimed one, which is about three times the weight it should be! T That's all that'll probably happen this week unfortunately. There's going to be a delay now while we wait for the glass (double glazing!) to arrive. There might be some shots of the roof going on and more internal work though. I'll keep you posted!
  22. We had a metal framed one and a crazy amount of glass. We just let someone come and take at the end of last year. ?
  23. Yeah, that shot with Finn makes it look massive. I just want it done!
  24. I just gave greenhouse away!
