  1. Ungors have a good variation in use. 40 with spears is pretty good. 40 with Mauls if you spread them out can also all attack on a frontage. Raiders are good also (particularly as they have that pregame move to screen off alpha charges hoping over your screen and attacking twice) Generally I would say starting with 10-man units for Mauls is a good choice to begin with. I have 40, 40, 40 (spears, mauls, raiders) but I've been collecting them since 2003.
  2. Sorry I was speaking in reference to Lord of the Clan where you have to take 2 anyway. But thanks. I have a Durthu (or two,..).
  3. What do you think of 3 Ancients and a Treelord? Too much? I just have a fondness for the big guys. I have day dreams of 4 Treelords AND them being effective. ... room to dream I guess.
  4. I was looking at Epicurean Revellers. And not maximizing heroes. In general I am a huge fan of the Exalted Chariot with a Blade Bringer. 2 x Epitome's Masque 5 Hellstriders Epicurian Revellers (containing the follow) 2 x 30 girls, 3 Hellflayers, Exalted Chariot. While the latter particularly is better as heroes I'm looking to maximize on MW output. Sure it won't be that high but the Battalion is 180 points. I also want to make the 60 girls the workhorse for objective control and being scary. I am proxying the 3rd HF cause i own lots of chariots and it makes the list 2000 exact. I've toyed with the idea of dropping HFs, making the Exalted a hero and taking Sylle Eske. I didn't fit in any Seekers even though I'm a fan. If only they were in the ER Battalion. I'm not overly concerned with maximizing the Slaanesh Hero/Depravity but more just taking the army and seeing how it fairs and what I can do to fine tune it for what it is.
  5. Oh I know I maybe have a bunch of Razorgors kicking around especially after having to rip them off my chariots and make those Tuskgor chariots again. I think the Razorgor was a missed point and sad it will die
  6. Claws have rend and hellscourges 3"? the claw. The hellscourge isn't really killy on a unit that is fast, BL and not well armoured.
  7. I have one of those and love it!! Really want a second. Are there slaanesh builds that favour using chariots as HQ within the book? I have a descent army as well of old Juan Diaz girls. 60 infantry, 20 mtd, some hellstriders etc.
  8. Thanks kindly. I mainly play Depraved Drove for Slaanesh or some weird chariot/Seeker/Hellstrider combo. I cannot afford the new Keepers so playing more with everything else
  9. Well make sure you are aware when they can cast spells and when they cannot. I think they need 2 models meaning you can take 7 Wounds and still cast. ... I think... ugh. kids ruined my memory fair point on WRs as screening. they are a hammer. and pretty good. I was just thinking all WAnderer.
  10. It used to. When originally released it was a second box (size of the GEtting STarted but back in 8th) and had instructions and large rectangle base. Basically double the price ($80 vs the $40 for the seeker/hellflayer). I wish I still had the instructions as I gather they don't come in the small box? (I don't know, I only bought the original large box and only one of them). IMO GW is still being dumb with bases. First they should have given away rounds like there is no tomorrow. That bases are $6 a pop still is dumb. That they sell kits that come without rounds and only squares (CoS looking at some of your units) is astounding nearly 5 units into this game. I think the latest push towards making chariots better in Slaanesh was good, and differentiates the armies a little more and GW should push towards making Slaanesh Chariot armies more viable. I heard in Wrath of the Everchosen there is an Invaders option that gives you D3 units that can be pulled off and put into "Ambush"? Is it correct that you can take the Depraved Drove as Slaanesh and then have them be WotE as well?
  11. They can keep up with a Phoenix and cast a City or Endless spell then the Phoenix gets the armour buff (they can even cast their spell backwards at EG holding an objective). Plus I think it's while they have 2 models they are still a caster? So that is an effective 7W caster with movement, shooting and can be healed back significantly with the LC ability and Endless Lifeswarm (which they can cast on themselves to get the Phoenix the buff). They aren't super amazing but they aren't useless. If you take SotW you may want some WRs screening (or just,.. cause they are really good) and a Knight of Azyros paired with 10 WRs will also allow the Treelord to shoot and move with the LC ability. Plus if that TL ability of ASL goes off that's handy and the KoA has descent utility. A TL, KoA and 10 WRs up a flank could deal some damage (HA just kidding the TL will never do more than 1W offensively... O_o )
  12. I mostly agree with this. I don't think Durthu is really that strong outside Sylvaneth as you need to kinda stack the odds for him in the glades/etc.
  13. Keep in mind not everyone here is looking for top tier gaming. some people don't play tournaments and they are looking for combos, or just experience from other gamers for friendly competitive games.
  14. Yeah I've been toying with that as well. I keep wanting to run Warherd like you could with KHorne in 6th edition. MSU spam. I've had abysmal rolls with 6-man bull units. I think as low as 3 hits from 6 guys once... that 4+ feels like a 6+ some days. I find in general Warhead isn't CP hungry. If the command ability was still an AoE I would feel it had more mileage for sure. I had missed the +1 to hit spell on Gorshrak cause I kept reading the retinue warscroll. I just based up my old Mordheim warband to count as Gorshrak's retinue Thanks kindly @Fluffy Moo Moo for rekindling my drive with WArherd. I was playing Darkwalker WArherd and having fun until CoS came out and totally distracted me. BACK TO THE BEASTS! Battlescribe is a reliant crutch So in defence of Ghorgons, they are tricky, not ideal, not optimal but when they go off with hot rolls you get lucky with like 20 dead and a unit deleted. Then there are other times they do 1 wound tops. They are very swingy which I feel is the issue with Warherd. I've played with Ghorgons a bit and like them even if they lack mechanics to make them tactically reliable.
  15. Yeah I kept reading the wrong warscroll in the app. Thanks!
  16. How are your 3-bull units? Why does everyone take Gorshrak?? I don't get it other than he's got a retinue.
  17. #science. Nicely painted ghorgons always roll better. TBH I'm keen to see how 9 Bullgors do.
  18. I love it. I've been debating 2x3 vs 1x6 for the extra MWs but after seeing 6-man Bullgors in play I think they are the way to go...
  19. 30 SotW w/ Nomad Prince is 660. Sorry to be pedantic but it highlights looking internally at the moment.
  20. Hmm off to TE I go I do like the buffs. 30 SotW on 2s/2s is deadly. If only it was 6+ MW instead of Unmodified 6
  21. @Lanoss I do, but I'm no longer a tournament player. And I would make the changes I suggested. You have bodies and multiple threats. But I'm just getting back to Sylvaneth after a couple years so I'm learning them again However I like the redundancy of Durthu's there.
  22. I like it but I would do 2 x 6 Scythe Hunters or 6 Scythes, 3 Swords, 3 Swords. Also you gained 40 points, maybe you can jimmy the second Durthu in easier? I was going to play Harvestboon at 1k today but it was all eggs in one basket with Durthu at that level so I changed back to Winterleaf last moment.
  23. Sort of,.. threadomancy, old post but I wanted to ask if anyone was using them as BL since the Dec FAQ? I feel 15+ isn't a bad idea. They hit hard and mine have been effective in my games. Just want something to keep up and offer some synergies and the general is a Nomad Prince. Also just realized a Knight of Azyros can keep up with him and I have converted my old Orion with Ariel's old butterfly wings so I even have a model to combo them and can keep up.
