  1. It's a lot like a list I've been working on recently - With mine I've tried to keep a castellant and staunch in there to bolster the inevitable counter attack that'll be coming their way. Also I went Mindlock Staff as the artefact to shut down Nagash, as I seem to fight him a lot! Skinks are there as an objective grabber. Could go Aetherwings and save 10 points, but the skinks I think are a bit better. I could go either way on 4 Ballista's or the Comet. Or even 3 Ballista's, no skinks and an Incantor, so I have another scoring unit in Places of Arcane Power (3 Places of Power? the one where wizards score). Lastly, I may swap out the Sequitors for 2x Liberators and 1x Judicators.
  2. Tomb King beard. Attached to an Idoneth endless spell. You heard it here first.
  3. While gold may not have any intrinsic value it'll also probably be the basis of any monetary systems in the realms, because a) it'll help with verisimilitude and b) because no one wants to carry two goats for a night out in the tavern. Imagine how messy change would be!
  4. Yeah I saw and already edited! I was halfway through my train of thought and posted. What I was actually thinking was drop the celestant, reduce the sequitors to 1x 20 and 1x5 then have 1x10 and 1x5 Evocators. The thing with the celestant with sword of judgement is, you really want to be using CP to make it go off on a 3 or 4, but Garviel is eating up all your CP usage.
  5. What he said! Also, if you are going with this list, I'd take the Evocators as 1 10 man blob. 1 less drop, 1 activation in combat, cover all 10 with warding lantern/buff etc. Scratch that, I didn't notice you were using Cleansing Phalanx
  6. Its a 6+ roll, not an unmodified 6... If you didn't add modifiers until after effects were triggered (such as hitting...) what would be the point of modifiers? Modifiers come after rerolls, but that's it. There's no "Last in sequence" rule - otherwise they wouldn't modify anything!
  7. You roll a 3. Add 3 from your bonus. It becomes a 6. That satisfies 6+.
  8. Sword of Judgement does D6 mortals on heroes or monsters on hit rolls of 6+. Celestant's command ability is +1 to hit aura. Used it 3 times so +3 to hit... 3+ to inflict mortals. 5 attacks, 4* 3+'s, 17 mortal wounds!
  9. Sooo, with two and a bit weeks until GT heat 1, I decided to try radically changing my list... Allegiance: Stormcast EternalsMortal Realm: UlguLeadersLord-Celestant (100)- Artefact: Sword of Judgement Lord-Castellant (100)- General- Trait: Staunch Defender Knight-Incantor (140)- Celestial Staves (Artefact): Mindlock StaffLord-Relictor (100)Battleline5 x Liberators (100)- Warhammer & Shield- 1x Grandhammers5 x Liberators (100)- Warblade & Shield- 1x Grandblades5 x Judicators (160)- Skybolt Bows- 1x Shockbolt Bows5 x Judicators (160)- Boltstorm Crossbows- 1x Thunderbolt CrossbowsUnits5 x Decimators (200)5 x Protectors (200)10 x Evocators (400)BattalionsSkyborne Slayers (190)Total: 1950 / 2000Extra Command Points: 2Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 121 Played against a Nagash/Ethereal VLOZD/30 Reaper/Necromancer/3 x5 Dire Wolf list in a practice game last night. Mission was Focal Points in Ghyran. One shotted the Vampire Lord with the Lord Celestant on turn 1 (burned 3CP, so doing mortals on 3+). Translocated the Relictor in front of the Reapers and lightning stormed them, then charged them with Decimators to lock them down. Spent the next 4 turns grinding through regenerating Reapers with Evocators (Who also managed to electrocute Nagash). Mindlock Staff was really good for stopping Nagash healing himself. Kept the Evocators lanterned and in the staunch bubble and mystic shielded when possible. They all died eventually though. Pro's - Only 5 drops, so goes first a lot of the time. First turn can be devastating. Actually get to use Shock and Awe. Con's - Bit of a one trick wonder. Harder to use if the opponent screens well (although this can have it's own benefits as you're forcing them to alter their deployment). Limited mobility after the initial strike. No tank units. Not sure whether to take this or my Stardrake list tbh. I think that list may be a bit more forgiving, but opponents may underestimate a SCE list with *suboptimal* units in it! Thoughts?
  10. Good choice! Can GW officially swap them over so the nice model gets the good rules pleeeez!
  11. I'm sorry, did you just say you actually WANTED a Knight Questor?!
  12. SD on 20 blob of Evocators with lantern and mystic shield or talisman of the watcher = urk! Or still have a 20 sequitor blob but 3x judicators for battleline.
  13. If you're not running mass sequitors you could just make your Incantor the general and enjoy your flying 1+
  14. Heraldor already has a 4+ They are just the regular rules for Liberators?
  15. i find that my Evocators do a lot of heavy lifting. Electrocuting Nagash in the face for example. Or murdering Phoenixes. Or Stardrakes that don't have Ignax's Scales! Will the Celestant-Prime be able to make up the shortfall? I know he's cheaper, but he's also 22 fewer wounds!
  16. Enslaved!?! There's definitely a splattered warlock going on the manticore's base now!
  17. If only there was a Horned Rat keyword!
  18. It's a mix of all of them and none. Except for Slaanesh. Lord on Manticore with mark of Nurgle. Lord on mount with mark of Tzeentch. Was tempted to put the Mark of the All-Favoured artefact on my Sorcerer, just so I could have a wizard with the Khorne keyword...
  19. Give your Evocators grandstaves. If they are running lots of chainrasp hordes, maybe decimators finally have a place. And it's hard to go wrong with 20 staunch/warded/haloed Sequitors! Or - if they're going bravery bomb how about Skyborne Slayers? Laugh as you just ignore battleshock entirely. And it has the aformentioned Decimators in it!
  20. Are they just the Prime's fancier swords? Are there 2 with male arms and 2 female?
  21. Nothing exciting - reroll next failed hit/wound/save. Wouldn't mind, but it was the last combat in turn 5 anyway!
  22. Agreed. Tonight was my 7th or 8th game with slaves, and the first time I've actually gotten to roll on it. At least I didn't get turned into a spawn!
  23. Auras all have a range of "sacred number" now, 6" was the last ghb. Mark of khorne does allow you to save your warshrine for a different unit, same with mark of nurgle.
