  1. Very nice. i look forward to seeing them painted and pictures from all angles
  2. darkoath can shapeshift into greenskins... cool. Thread closed.
  3. not a hope. The only thing that will lure bretonnian players back is bretonnians
  4. Old school chaos list for giggles I'm looking forward to having this on the table - it should look great, all Khorne and all angry. Chaos lord on Daemonic Mount Aspiring Deathbringer with axe and furnace Bloodsectrator Mr Whippy 30 Chaos Warriors - halberd and runeshields 5 flesh hounds 5 flesh hounds Chaos Warshrine 20 chaos Knights - ensorcelled weapons.
  5. Indeed you will - and they are hillariously good fun to play with. The footprint when the fall is funny as well.
  6. looking that way, and in truth probably the right thing to do. It'll give us enough of a mix to create a wide variety of armies and themes hopefully. In the warqueen novel the darkoath tribe were aligned to tzeentch, but switched their allegience in order to ensure survival - I wonder if this will be a thing with them, or at the least give them the ability to be marked with a god keyword. @GeneralZero , I think @Hounsou83 was saying that all the models currently in resin that the Slaves to Darkness has need new plastic sculpts badly - such as chosen etc. ... ohhhh.... chosen knights would be nice..
  7. Plastic chosen would be nice, and getting the hellcannon back would be nice as well.
  8. I don't disagree, but malice is not Malal. When the original skragg the slaughterer model came out (C23 giant ogres range), in white dwarf his story was written as a champion of malal, Whats brilliant is the way a Anti-chaos, chaos god god which lasted for 12 comic page episodes has captured the imagination so much. That was retconned much later when ogre kingdoms came into being and he got a makover. He got a breif mention in the dying of the light campaign and ignorant armies story for fantasy roleplay in the late 80's but after that he fizzles out - reason being that Wagner and grant were greelancers and therefore owned the rights to him. Now, the image which everyone associates with him, a pencil sketch by tony ackland was in the Realm of Chaos books, and in there talks about chaos gods or daemons which have grown to become gods, demigods etc - it's just he big four are well, the big four, so I totally agree - Damn right, and this is how I see AoS, and this is why I like this thread so much because this is the right thing to do. It's your army, your story and your imagination. carry on... we need to see more Malal - Dreadaxe thirsts http://www.solegends.com/citcat1985comp3/citcomp3073-02.htm my own homage:
  9. so.... Malal as a concept first appeared in the Citadel compendium back in 86 or 87. It was part of a comic strip which appeared therin called kaleb Daark. Malal in essence was the chaos god's chaos god - and his champion described as "a man of chaos but not of chaos". The first battle Kaleb Daark faced was at Praag fighting against the champions of khorne , the chaos brothers Jake and Hellwood - a parody of the blues brothers. Malal and Kaleb daark didn't make it any further, not into fantasy and not into 40k as he wasn't fully GW's copyright, but the property of Wagner and Grant who wrote the script - an excellent 2000AD script writing duo. so as much as we really want him to be part of the fluff he really wasn't past the citadel jornal and compendiums and some references in wfrp and some second edition era lit. I've still got the model of Kaleb daark mounted and on foot when he came out. https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Malal Awesome work though guys and I love seeing malal stuff keep cropping up - for such a short run he really captured the imagination. @BrocknerTheBear - the shield on the prince conversion - it's awesome, where did you get it from?
  10. @Xasz thanks for the link - that's how we used to make chaos chosen back in the day - knight torsos on chaos warrior legs, but I like this way of doing it and I think I'm give it a try.
  11. this was on natfka today i dont know how authentic it is
  12. In the early days of citadel and Warhammer the dwarfs had lots of great ideas. Nick Lund's Chronicle range for citadel was going to expand if it wasn't for some manager and him not seeing eye to eye and leaving. he'd already dreamed up dwarf bear cavalry, and the fluff back in the day talked of animated stone statues infused with ancestor runes. Think of them like this... They got quite a few new bits and pieces during 8th ed near end times. That's important because by the time end times hit the shelves the mothership had already pushed the button on AoS, and anything that came along in the Warhammer 8th ed and specifically end times as we now know, was sculpted with an AoS aesthetic in mind. Like beasts, they're not dead and gone. They'll get their moment, whether written into their own disposessed book as beasts were or rewritten into an entirely new faction with a brand new lore and back ground as the Flesh eaters and daughters of khaine were. I think what might be a plan is for a thread to pull together references and mentions in the extended fluff such as Hammerhall herald and various novels. Sure it's nothing concrete but can give an indication of which way the faction is going in the eyes of the writers.
  13. actually scrub what I said and replace with a full on what you said. Anything is just nice, and anything as part of a campaign book would be even nicer.
  14. ‘Tis true, and I agree. I’d like to see an alternative faction get a nice centrepiece model.
  15. I wonder if that bit of art is hinting at a new head potion for the exalted bloodthirster? After all the pose is nearly the same body wise, i hasten to add- the fw thirstier is absolutely brilliant and that’s what go should have made in plastic rather than the leaping kitty we have got.
  16. ok scrub that, the update description mentions it's just the rules updates - dont know if that means points as well or not - probably not.
  17. Azyr is now updated: Karanak 90pts Flesh hounds 100pts Bloodcrushers 150pts Bloodletters 120pts
  18. where where!!! I'd be all over it!!! as it is, currently I think not. Azyr definitely won't let you pick an artifact, although you could have the doombull as your general within the brass despoilers in a khorne army. It's a pity as thematically it makes so much sense. I've written to the FAQ team to ask if they could clarify / re-look at the wording for the next round of FAQ's.
  19. Ally them in my good man they’re beasts of chaos so can ally with slaves to darkness- who were the old warriors of chaos. fill thy boots oh and download the free azyr app.
  20. and more importantly is so very Realm of Chaos; Slaves to Darkness. Back in them day when all this internerd was fields, we as a khorne army could take minotaurs quite happily as they loved a bit of wanton slaughter As the Khorne Lord says in WarQueen , You worship power.
  21. The alliance chart in old Monstrous Arcanum would be a good starting point. For instance Magma dragon in a Legion of Azgorh army makes sense. The chart could have additional points to add to certain factions written into it to take into account the power increase it would get from certain allegiance abilities and faction buffs as you say. ahh... fair cop then.
