  2. The Recent FaQ adding official base sizes shows Grots on 25`s,,doubt very much they would change that. Interesting that the Fanatic is not listed though...probably will be 32s for those guys,,which is totally fine by me as the smaller bases fell over all the time with the old models.
  3. Some hopes and dreams as I start my rebasing(80 NG`s first up) Plastic Manglers please!,,tired of repairs every time I run my FC one... Reduce Grot units to purchase blocks of 10 in matched play from the current 20..more granularity and perhaps add in a point break for units of 40+ Make that new terrain piece spawn cave squigs! Grot catapult,and doom divers are useful. To hit debuff spell that can be applied to Grot units(debuffing incoming attacks of course)
  4. If this sets the stage for the next batch of tomes,,then it appears we will be getting mainly "macro" tomes,those along the lines of LoN and BoC that encoumpass several sub faction keywords.I think this is a great direction to go if thats what happens:)

Yes the 6+ regro of units can be a concern,,though I have 8 units and depending on the rate they die,,its fair to say that at least one unit will come back per game.Now lately ive been very lucky with one game bringing back 3 out of 4 units.The thing is with this,,bringing a stabba unit back into the opponents backfield causes huge issues with camping heros or light objective defenders,,it has won games for me just having one unit brought back. I do like the boar maniaks and have 4x5 painted and ready,,though the Big Stabbas seem to consistantly suprise opponents with their high rend/high damage output and the d3 morts on death.
  6. Ive been revisiting my Savages after about a year break to play LoN, Since I played a single Kunning Rukk before,ive decided to see what I could do with AoS 2.0 Kunning Rukk. The following list has been pretty good so far as im 3-0 vs some mid table armies. Wurgog Prophet-General,,Brutal Beast Spirits/Squigly warpaint Savage Big Boss-Gryph Feather Charm Wardokk-Big Wurrgog Mastk/Hand of Gork Maniak Weirdnob,Rockjaws/Kunning Beast Spirits Arrowboys x30 Savage Orruks x10 SnB Savage Orruks x10 Spear and Board Savage Orruks x10 Spear and Board Savage Big Stabbas x2 Savage Big Stabbas x2 Savage Big Stabbasx2 Savage Big Stabbasx2 Bonegrinz Warclan Kunning Rukk In many ways im feeling alot better about this build than my 1.0 build,and that one got me an average 60% w/l in tournament play. Im finding this list to be really versitile with dual threats coming from the Kunning Rukk and the Big Stabbas,,with an added bonus of the Bonegrindz "Loadsa Boyz" ability to bring back any of the line units on a 6...This combined with the Stabbas "Final Fling" makes it very profitable to just through them out ahead as fast as possible(possibly hand of gork em out there).That tactic makes for a higly effective screen and distraction so that the Kunning Rukk can reliably get its shots off to full effect. As far as the Kunning Rukk part of the list,,just running one block of 30 arrowboys is by far the most effecient as you will get the double shots off at least 2 times per game.The spell power of the list is above par by current meta standards with 3 casters throwing 4 spells/dispells.The warpaint save is still solid as Bonesplitterz are such a high wound count army. Overall im pretty stoked about how this build is working and plan to be running it into the next year,,already signed up for a march GT in the local area:)

  8. So apparently it was revealed on twitter that moonclan previews start next weekend.Now im no rumor monger and dont even use twitter,,this is from one of our local area TO`s that is active on twitter and follows many of the prominent members in the AoS community.

The "Warpaint Save" is something you get for each mortal wound suffered.The additional effect is to make any armor save be a success on a 6,,as in ignore rend pretty much.However on failed saves the full damage caused goes through unless of course you have another way to stop that. So basically it is not really a "unsaved wound" save like death and others get,,that being for each wound allocated.

Moonclan or a combined Greenskin/Grot tome of some sort must be nearing release,,I mean Destruction is in dire need of a boost to be brought up to AoS2.0 standards.Moonclan and Spider fang used to have battalions that they could use from the Realmgate wars books but those dont have points(not sure if they ever did) and these factions have no GH faction representation for abilities and artifacts.In short,Moonclan,Spiderfang and Greenskins are by far the largest,yet least supported factions in the game now,,and they are a sizable part of the least competative Grand Alliance. I know this isint a rumor but please..make the next AoS release Green!
  11. Contemplating adding a LA on Tuaralon to my mainly Vanguard army,its pretty steep in price at 340 but does synergize pretty well with all my shooting.Anyone have any experiences running one yet?
  12. Sorry if this has been answered already,,but does the Stormhost abilitiy for the Hallowed Knights "Only the Faithful"also apply to the spells they cast as an army?..as in do they need to roll and if its a 6+ then their own spells dont work on themselves?
  13. Im using 3 in my Mixed Destro list along with a Troll Hag for a caster...my plan is to only run this in tournaments,,dont care what others think as Destruction has so little to choose from competatively.

My AoS 1.0 Nagash list - Nagash Necromancer VloZD 40 Spear Skellies 5 Direwolves 5 Direwolves 10 Black Knights 5 wins/2 losses with this list,,one loss to getting double turned from Tzeench skyfire,,other one was a similar LoN list. New AoS 2.0 Nagash list,,ill be running this in our regional event next month- Nagash VloZD 40 Spear Skellies 5 Direwolves 10 Chainghasts 20 Grimghast Reapers Portals With the speed and consistant hitting power of the Grimghasts they were a must fit for me to replace the BKs,,,even though my BKs were doing fine.I had to also replace at least one unit of wolves with our new battleline unit of Chainghasts.Dropped the Necro as he was too situational.I see the Reapers as being a real gem for LoN now,,,they beat Morghasts in every way except perhaps the added mobility,,the biggest difference I think between the two is in a Nagash list with Morghasts,,they are almost always the first target to get alpha`d down assuming Nagash isint an option..high rend alpha ruins them easily.20 Grimghasts certainly costs a bit more but are night impossible to alpha down,and since they can be regrown they are a much better choice.Finally,having the min unit wolves and chainghasts give the option of bringing them in out of the grave reliably,,usually to throw them out as to screen out an objective early on,,and now with the no points summoning,the small size units should be easy to bring back late for possible object grabs if needed.
  15. Something I have toyed around with ever since points were added to the game,of course adjusted for 2.0 now. Never built my "Thunder Rukk" list even though I purchased the models a couple years back,,but this is what im considering now,,perhaps some experience BCR players can comment if this is even viable now. I believe that the Huskards would actually autoheal each hero phase as long as all 4 were alive?

Im debating were to get my casting sources from,,I really like the Troll hag but those points could by 2 wierdboyz plus other stuff.Though the Hag is tough as nails to kill and would need focusing down,,a tall order when a Mawcrusha and dozens of ironclad Orruks are in your face straight away.

Ben,thank you so much for TGA!,this webiste has been a real boon to getting AoS going in my area (USA PNW).Having started AoS from day one,there was only a very few players in my area that would even touch the game,most mocked it,but as time when on and GW got their facebook presence going then you started up TGA many of the more competative players in my area started taking notice and now we have a sizeable group and we run several events each year with TGA being the prime location for game information and strat talk. I would totally be on board with a subscription/premium system or whatever you guys come up with.I know it would be very handy for us TO`s to have a private chat room for planning and discussing event structures,scoring and such.I could handle adds,but really would rather not see much more than a banner here or there.But whatever you come up with Ill still be here along with the many players from my area:)

Got my first two games in today,used my Ironjawz,won both games.Played against SCE and a 3 player with Sepulcher and Khorne.One thing I didnt realize was that the hold objective cards were universal as I built the SCE and Khorne decks from the base set and never bothered to look at their cards to see if there was any universal ones in them,lol. Anyhow I used a total of 25 cards,12 ploy,13 upgrade.Now that I think about it,im probably going to stick with my objecives they way they are as this group can really suffer if you have one guy running off to score an objective when he should be in someones face removing it for the same reward(with the added bonus of removing an opposing fighter of course:)). Ive played tons of MTG over the years and in that game with the multiples allowed of most cards,building a minimum size deck is essential.With this game,with each card being allowed only once,im not yet convinced that a minimum size deck is essential..as time goes on and more of the cards are released that may be the case but right now I dont think it hurts having a few extras especially since you can basically discard your hand 3 times during the game. From what I can see the Orruks are probably the best of the four currently,,though I need to see more play from the Sepulcher.

Since Sigmars Storm has broken across the mortal realms,countless reforgings of Stormcast have taken place with many being reforged multiple times,,each time becoming less of themselves than before. Perhaps Nagash is feeling cheated... 40k has Space Marines and Chaos Space Marines..could AoS be heading in a similar direction,,possibly with Death instead of Chaos? Just a wild thought,,either way it would make a good setting for a map campaign i think:)

I hear ya Thomas,Ive just started KO`s but have yet to even assemble any Thunderers and wasnt planning to use them anyhow(going Balloon and boats,heh) Overall,seeing this warscroll "adjustment" on the most recently released army is rather concerning as I had thought they were going to mainly do points adjustments for the balancing fixes.Its leaving me wondering just how many of these warscrolls are in the book,,looking at how they went after such a minor offender,I would think that there should be at least dozens if this made the cut for rework.

But, there will be an adjustment to points or profiles for some units where this is sometimes an issue." Not for certain if they are speaking to ability stacks but it sure seems to be..
