  1. Got my Corpse Cart base coated and began building up the graveyard for its base.
  2. Was finishing basing my Hexwraiths and was not happy with my final product. So I went back and added another highlight and softened up my blends. Like the results much more.
  3. This was my thought exactly. Almost every kid in my son's grade school class read and loved these books. They are far from great literature, but they are fast paced, written for the modern generation and draw from the narrative wealth of classical mythology. If these new AOS and 40K books fit into that same model they could be one highly successful and two introduce a lot of kids to the rich IP we all love, that honestly needs as much exposure as it can get.
  4. I agree that these novels are a wonderful way to reach out to younger kids. I showed the pictures to my younger son and man the excitement in his eyes as he said cool was good for my old wargamer heart. If we want the hobby to be around for us in the future these initiatives are essential in a gaming and scifi market that is increasingly competitive.
  5. Fantastic OSL. Really dig the theming of the whole army.
  6. Great work. Love the fluff and the models. Really enjoying looking at this army.
  7. Finished up two more pieces for my Garden of Morr set up. Getting there little by little.
  8. This trailer has me a little confused. The video seems to suggest a big wow you model release, like Deepkin level stunning. I was not under the impression that was what we were getting. I mean I am pumped for a Nighthaunt and Mage Stormcast release, but I was thinking a couple new kits. This video seems to suggest something well beyond that. You don't gawk like that over a starter box of mostly repacks and a few new models. Definitely intrigued.
  9. Yes clan Skryre has several. They are called parasite engines and are mentioned quite a bit in the The Realmgate Wars: Godbeasts book. Here is the lexicanum link: http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Parasite_Engine
  10. I agree with this. Wherever they discuss technology in the AOS context it tends to seem more steampunk influenced. Like the huge walker city the Skaven have and the numerous other mentions of potential flying factions. Not sure how I feel about this but definitely seems to be the way things are going.
  11. Painted up my first Spirit Host. While I had a blast painting him I have to say putting this thing together was a little bit of a pain. Getting all the spirit strands to connect at just the right angles had me saying a few not so nice words. Overall, I was happy with the result so I guess all was good in the end. Now just 8 more to do!
  12. Also got a couple of Morgasts to keep big papa safe. One is busting out of a tomb and the other is hurdling a graveyard fence.
  13. Finally got around to big daddy himself. Put him together pretty simply, leaving off his doctor octopus backpack and some of the armor plates. Like the less busy look. Also did up a graveyard base for him. Legion is coming together.
  14. Started on my old Garden Of Morr set. I put together a full kit and some extra bits. Painted a test of my first crypt and liked how it turned out. Now just have to bust out the rest of the stuff.
  15. With the Legions Of Nagash and Malign Portents I have finally found the motivation to finish the Shyish themed table I started awhile back. I collected a bunch of terrain for my Shyish board, assembled it but never got around to painting it. My hope is to really get on it. Here are my first two pieces, a set of the Hobbit Ruins and a Shyish themed Realmgate.
  16. Got my Balewind Vortex converted up and painted. It is ready to death magic it up.
  17. Fantastic. Absolutely love the blue and green tones incorporated into the flesh.
  18. Thx for the comments. Yea I have been vacillating on what to go with color wise for the sides of the bases. I was debating between black, midtone grey or light grey. Think I have finally decided on medium grey.
  19. First unit of Hexwraiths painted up. All that is left is the cemetery basing.
  20. Necromancer #2 done. Lords of Sacrament Battalion almost ready to hurl down some death magic.
  21. Did a trial run of rebasing my skeletons and zombies. Liked how it went. 2 down 138 to go ugh.
  22. Got Arkhan built up and ready to go. I never liked him being suspended from his mount's tail and the underlying Spirit Hosts so I mounted him a little more securely.
  23. With the new Legions Of Nagash Battletome finally giving Death some love I have started the process of rebasing and finishing my Death army. My first goal is to focus on getting both a Grand Host Of Nagash and a Legion of Sacrament list up and painted. I have most of the cheap units painted (80 skeletons, 60 zombies, 10 Black Knights, 10 Dire Wolves) just need to get them rebased. I also have Nagash and Arkhan in the box ready to be built. My first step to getting this project going is converting a Mortis Engine. I had an old Screaming Skull Catapult lying around from the End Times when I converted one up to go with my Vampire Counts stuff. I loved the model so I decided to add some bits and turn it into a Mortis Engine. So here is my first completed model for my Legions of Sacrament list.
  24. I of course have not seen the book and the full rules but from what we have seen Morathi looks prettttty good at 480. I had money on at least 550 with my buddy. Will be interesting to see how she plays.
