  1. Well it isn't meant for that now is it.... Those boxes are designed to easily build a warband for Skirmish. A game we don't know the full rules to, (the twitch stream didn't really offer all the designing warbands details) and you are bashing for not being suitable to start a full scale army... This of course is very true
  2. This week I'm trying to find the time to build a command squad for my Warriors. First pose of the champion. I also have some different weapon options. What do you think? i might just lose the shield and go for the claw and sword (tying the unit a bit more with my daemonettes)
  3. thanks so much for the highlights! On thing is missing though... Did it look fun?! In your eyes did it see like a fun way to play the game without to much clutter (something that regularly happend with the whfb supplements)
  4. Thanks for the compliment! It's one of the few things I miss from warhammer. The influence from different cultures. I like that the sword I found is not dissimilar to their Xiphos-sword: But you are right that the spear is more iconic.
  5. Couldn't find the time to paint but did find the time to assemble the champion of the Chaos Warriors. But... I can't decide on the weapon! So what else to do than to ask you fine people of the internets for your wisdom and insights! The choices from top to bottom: on the model - a dark elf sword which quite resembles the sword Spartans preferred. A Chaos Knight spear (would have to remove the hand and scale it down a bit) A dark elf spear same as the other Warriors (the helmet already indentifies him as the champion) A ornate kairic mace the Kairic scroll A Daomonettes claw - the big advantage is that it ties it to the daemonic part of the of the army The Corsair Fleetmaster sword - tougher to pose naturally but vicious looking A Chaos Knight sword - I feel it's to big but it's very much a Chaos weapon Sudden idea: I could also remove the shield (maybe add it to the back) and give him a weapon besides the claw.
  6. And time for the next update. Painting continues after a brief dry spell to prepare a campaign. We ended up playing hinterlands due to the birth of someone's first kid. Great joy all around ? Model in back is almost done and the two others getting there. I decided to challenge myself by adding a freehand sigil on the shield, never done so before, so now for a design...
  7. No they are from Scibor miniatures. http://www.sciborminiatures.com/en_,shop.php?art=868
  8. Well sylvaneth do the same with the wyldwoods I think. So yeah that could be interesting.
  9. Good call to bring this back to life. On my work table yesterday... three converted spartan style slaanesh Chaos Warriors.
  10. Going further on that sentiment I would love it if it also impacted gameplay. So maybe turning Skaven Verminus/Moulder/skryre into a underground assault force. Big mole like creatures digging up during the course of the battle (visual- bigger broodhorror) with the classical Skaven randomness added to it. hordes of weak skaven pouring out of those holes. Could tie in to their fluff of being the only race capable of creating gateways between the realms. I find it hard to invision something like that with a 'Water' theme but it would certainly be cool.
  11. The problem with these arguments is that although you might loose a few battles your hero will kill and will grow so much stronger that it will become even more unstoppable. And, as you say yourself, some scenarios don't really compensate for that. While I understand the wish to make things balanced... everything is designed for larger battles and thus prised that way. It will never really scale down. Every model you field with an ability that needs X+ models should also be factored in the point cost. But it doesn't apply to Hinterlands. All in all I agree with keeping the rules a bit fluid but don't expect to create a perfectly balanced system.
  12. Haha very nice of you, won't be giving up but you have to admit it did sound better than: 'Good job'.
  13. This is just ridiculous There are too many details and beautiful fades for a 28mm model. This just makes me want to give up or really commit to getting better. Scr*w Kim Kardashian, Lady Ninsar has the butt that breaks the internet. Well done sir/madam
  14. Yeah! Dwarven pirates! Still love those models.
  15. He looks awesome. Very much a beefed up version of the Slaanesh lord. Very cool. In regards to the wings, I think I would go for a fade to white. As they are a bigger area I personally feel it will make the golden armour pop more.
  16. The more I think about it, the more I think I will house rule it the next time (same for destruction). The difference is minimal but I like that all alliance generals get the choice between being more in support or boosting their own skill. ?
  17. might still be elves and just tying the lore closer to eachother... he said hopefully and not really believing it himself.
  18. These wings fit the model better! Good choice to make the extra effort.
  19. No it really didn't. But good to know about the FAQ. Now you mention it I remember reading it a while back. Time to re-read it apparently
  20. Quick question for everyone. Yesterday I introduced a friend to Hinterlands and had three amazingly fun games. But one thing came up. I always assumed the Chaos command trait 'Lord of War' could also affect the general himself. My mate was quite happy to accept that (him playing skaven) but I'm curious to see how everyone interprets this ability. Thanks!
  21. Very much agreed. Its amazing to see how much passion and work you put in this but as @Taffin said don't try to get the rules flawless. It's impossible to do so with such an immense variety of options available to players and also the freedom this ruleset offers lends itself perfectly to casual and narrative plays as is.
  22. Cool call on the balancing on the staff. Curious to see it it would look cool to hide the contact point in a tuft when basing.
  23. So effin cool. Someting in the combination story and model really sparks! well done.

    War Mammoth!

Its been three days, with three people why haven't you succeeded yet? Ugh, okay count me in if we need more peepz But genuinely, I wonder if the Mummak model isn't a bit on the small size to house multiple warriors. As the LoTR range is quite a bit smaller if I remember correctly. I think it might be easier to go for a to mammoth or something.
