  1. Looks good! Depending on your local meta you can always replace some stuff. I think this list will be fun to play
  2. I understand your point and I think you mean that your heart is cold as in that you won't enjoy the list, but if you meant that you feel you are coldhearted fielding an overly competitive list, that is hardly the case, the way it stands right now is that Idoneth are only barely competitive in the sense that if you wait until turn 3 you can pretty much delete any unit, but before that, you are going to perform much poorer than most armies. If you look at the new Stormcast Eternals from the soul wars set stuff for example, Evocators are dealing a good 6 damage per 100 points unbuffed each turn, sequitors 5 damage per 100 points unbuffed (both against 4+ save targets). Morrsarr guard on the other hand, our strongest unit, are doing about 5,2 damage per 100 points unbuffed after they managed to pull off a charge and use their one-time-use volt weapons, without that its even less and you will end up having to spend lots of points to protect said eels. So if you want a bit of a mix, I would suggest investing in 1 big unit of Morrsarr and mix it with an AOS or turtle, maybe throw in an allopex. My "fun" list is basically Volt, AOS, Tidecaster, Soulscryer, 10x thralls, 3x Shield eels, 9x morsarr, 1 allopex, and its quite a lot of fun to play :). I am going to paint up the turtle next week though and may replace the AOS with it and am likely to either get 3 more morsarr to make 2x 6 groups, or a 2nd shield group to replace the thralls, but thralls and reavers by themselves are going to perform badly (I had a 30 group of thralls + soulrender at first...), you'll lose like 10 to 15 of them after a 200 point Evocator units charges and attacks them and likely lose a ton after that to battleshock... It really isn't fun to face :(, not to mention you cannot get them in range.
  3. If you haven't made purchases yet, I sincerly advice to avoid the thralls and reavers and get eels instead. Also, instead of the aspect of sea, get the turtle or more tidecasters (you could convert a few) :), your list will be a lot more competitive! The thralls and reavers are way too fragile to be the backbone of your army, and the aspect of the sea does not deal enough damage to make him worth his point cost (neither is the storm). I wish I had figured this out BEFORE buying, painting and playing them.
  4. Thank you! I also used the female incantor stave as a grandstave for several evocator conversions. The boxed set look very cool and detailed, but the cheap route = best route when converting XD. All my sequitors have swords now at least! (Many harvested from the evocators haha)
  5. Do you mind if I steal the idea to make a similar conversion? I am planning to make a shattered shield and helmet resting against the sword to reinforce the gravesite idea. I have a derpy evocator who is standing with his hand in the air doing nothing lol.
  6. The way I see it is that the sword is stuck in the rock and would likely be something such as the grave of a fallen warrior, specially since the whole thing is sheeted. The prime is simply resting her hand on the sword while watching over her unit. I hardly consider this as her wielding it. Also, when it comes to realism, smashing your sword in a rock isn't going to happen, you'll just shatter the blade, so I highly doubt she carried that thing there.
  7. Indeed... setters was very wanted pre-Ghb2017 though. I ended up selling my TK army so I don't think about it anymore and can focus on new stuff. I really hope they return though. I miss their aesthetic. I read somewhere that the majority of warhammer buyers do not play the game though. Perhaps it was marketed towards those?
  8. I actually think the made to order is partly there as a market survey to see which cut miniatures sell well to figure out in what direction to guide releases.
  9. What is that made DoK fail anyways? The models looks and/or ammount required or the rulesets? Lots of people complained that the DoK boxes were just way too costly for way too little points/pounds, but I didn't look into it (not a fan of the whole Khaine theme)
  10. Human worshippers of the great horned rat? Thats quite interresting. I need to go read into that!
  11. Any chaos unit can be a Skaven unit as long as there is a verminlord that transformed them "They are ungors, but turned into Skaven."
  12. I think it is possible to create a hero oriented list, but you will really need to make sure there is very good synergy between all the heroes and 1 or 2 big units, probably a large unit of sequitors and evocators. An example would be a squad of 4 ballistas and lord ordinator alongside a bunch of heroes that buff like gavriel for a charge, hammerhand, etc alongside some big units of sequitors. Generally it may be better to just run more troops then too many heroes though... If you just plan to play for fun there should be no issue however
  13. I wish there was a clear answer of what their plan with such factions is though. Temporarily uniting all these small aelf factions under 1 big Aelves faction could be quite interresting, offering a diplomatic warfare approach where there needs to be a leader within a certain " range to make sure subfactions don't end up fighting each other over past conflict.
  14. I think Skaven is a possible candidate for a release wave considering they had a shadespire release recently. It kind of shows that GW has the 3D files of various sculpts ready to play around with and create units similar to how stormcast poses are recycled and new stuff added to them. I think Skaven issues outside of Skaven lack of synergy is also the fact of them being extremely weak. An unbuffed unit of 40 clanrats only deals about 6.5 damage per turn against a 4+ save target if all 40 of them are able to get in range to attack and none died, and around 18 damage with buffs from various sources warlords, warbringers or even a bit more with a chaos sorceror. If you compare that to a unit of 5 evocators dealing 14 damage unbuffed for the same points and no extra investment, or 2 units of sequitors dealing 10 damage with channeling on weapon. Skaven would need some massive passive or activated buffs to become relevant again and be able to compete with even starter set stuff. The fact that some units even deal bonus damage to them doesnt help either. I think GW knows this and judging from how Skritch and his gang works, bringing stuff back to life and how shadespire stuff somewhat reflects "real" AOS, we will likely see something along the lines of "Vermintide", in your herophase, return 2D6 clanrats to your unit if it is wholly within 12" of a Skaven Warlord to combat them being so weak. But thats pure speculation. I think Skritch should have affected nearby clanrat units and not just his warband. I assume orruks are in a similar position? The rumour about skaven kind of said that it will mostly be skryre stuff being released next though (around AOS2 release), but the faction focus seems to focus mostly on verminus and eshin. I hope both become a thing. Soon. Yes-yes. (Gutter runners are great damage though, but it isnt cheap converting them in large masses)
  15. why don't you just convert some sword ones? Liberator swords + soul wars sequitors can get you them, probably cheaper too.
  16. I'm just afraid those castigators are going to do absolutely nothing. Perhaps you could upgrade them + 1 liberator unit to a unit of Judicators? Loving the gavriel tactic though
  17. I noticed that rumour engines tend to be posted at the game it is meant for. If its 40k its under 40k news. If its aos its under AoS news. This particular engine is on both news pages. This has me believe it is either a multifunctional terrain piece, but could also be some sort of cross game daemon release. Perhaps slaanesh?
  18. Thats quite a cheesy play. The Skaven inside me loves it. I would love to see your findings.
  19. Guess that'll be yet another unit that mysteriously didn't sell that well.
