  1. Oh no. The code thing sounded so promising when it was announced for 40k but it led to disaster. I just want to be able to read the lore on my iPad during my lunch break. Why does gw have to be so regressive?
  2. Battletomes coming in August followed by Is that Digital thing confirmed?
  3. Oh well it was a nice dream. Whitefang ever the heart breaker. One the other hand...
  4. What if it is long crocodile with the rider at the front and the howdah at the back? That could be pretty awesome.
  5. In retrospect this video was surprisingly useful. It covers every full codex launched in the first year after Marines and Necrons: Dark Eldar, Admech, Sisters, Death Guard and Orks. I hope we get something similar for AoS.
  6. Just a heads-up for anyone who's interested. Dominion is available on Audible now.
  7. Yeah the Tauralon was a big disappointment. Such beautiful wings but such an ugly face.
  8. Didn't everyone ignore it though? If the community rejects something en masse, there's not much GW can do about it.
  9. Unless this is one model with two builds, we might be getting a slightly bigger preview than 40k had. Presumably whatever we see for Kruleboyz will be matched by something for Stormcast. So at least 4 kits then?!!?
  10. As that rule specifies split and split again, you can't really above starting size.
  11. That's not remotely true. The lotr studio has its own rules writers, artists and sculptors. Keith Robertson does a lot of their sculpts now.
  12. The bizarre is the biggest draw for me. I want to see something I could never have imagined. Won't stop me guessing though. Maybe it will look like this?
  13. From that sillouette there are lots of possibilities. If that is a hanging basket like on the beastclaw monsters we might actually be looking at something quite tall. There is no hint of a leg in that picture. It could also be that the body is curved so the head and shoulders are turned to its right and the rest of a longer body is extended directly away from the camera. In any case I'm very excited to see the full video and whatever they show for Stormcast. A dragon?!!? I think this will be the Dominion tipping point for me. A couple of cool centrepieces to look forward to will probably encourage me to pick up the box.
  14. Yeah, it's an interesting pic. There's obviously quite a lot of paraphernalia in its back, but if it is a croc, you would expect something longer. I hope it is a big cabbage style centrepiece but it's quite difficult to tell from that picture.
  15. Preview starts at 6. Dominion hobby at 5. Oh and a picture.
  16. Both of those videos were first shown at Warhammer fest on May 12th 2018, which is more evidence that they are being unnecessarily coy about releases this time. That said, I think we will see something on Saturday.
  17. Yeah I noticed that. Clearly they are getting ready to post the FAQs but there may be a bit of craziness in the mean time. I remember foreign language FAQs going up earlier in previous versions.
  18. Ok. Fair enough. I was unaware of some of those details.
  19. A product making its money back is not the same as selling out. Gw offers about a 50% discount to FLGS. It follows that the margin in direct stores is larger. So if GW sells half the copies it makes, it will make its money back. First a caveat. I've never run a store do if this is nonsense please ignore. I wasn't aware of some of the games gw plays with its stockists (I live in Japan) so I deleted this as it was a bit uninformed.
  20. Morathi came out last year. I was just talking about 2021. Compare this year to 2017 where we had 4 books in the whole year and no big boxed sets.
  21. I meant more from a sales perspective since that's what might impact Dominion. We've had three broken realms books and four battletomes. We've had 3 major ranges of minis which have all been popular for various reasons. We've had several awesome Underworlds warbands, 12 discount boxes, and a bunch of individual models, some which are pretty expensive. We've also had Cursed City which ran into problems precisely because so many people bought it. I was lucky enough to get hold a copy and I've still only painted about half the minis. If I'd missed out, I would have been much more likely to pick up Dominion.
  22. In the UK at least it has become the definition of love it or hate it.
  23. And yet the Lumineth box was another limited product that didn't sell out. Which army is your favourite is not the same question as which armies did you buy.
  24. I think the gap is bigger than that. There was a rumour a while ago that the space marine tactical squad sold more than the entire fantasy range combined. Now it's much closer than that but if I had to guess, I say that 40k sells three or four times as much as AoS and when it comes to individual factions I would not be remotely surprised if GW announced that marines sell 10 times as much as any AoS faction. All that said, I'm glad GW made a lot. If it accidentally becomes a range item in weird reverse of Cursed city, is that so bad?
