  1. On the shore of Dead Man’s Folly, in the region of Stygxx, stands Castle Drachmir. Once a bastion of light, this citadel has been claimed by flesh-eating ghouls. Few would dare to venture there but Khorne Daemon Prince, Tarak Skorl of the Ripped Tongue, fears not the undead and leads his slaughterhost through the Bitterblood Caverns to the castles battlements. Hoping to breach the fortress and claim the magical artefacts rumoured to be within it’s ancient vault. Pontiff Fleckbury Fodderbite, the Blisterskin Archregent stepped down from his Charnel throne to see if the reports were true. He looked beyond the ruins of the shattered temple to see the Chaos spearhead advancing, hurriedly summoning his faithful Knights who headed for the cover of the Wyldwood. The Flesh-Eater was quickly joined by even more Flayers and a ravening horde of ghouls. The Khorne spearhead was led by Karanak himself and he and his Bloodletters headed for the objective whilst also looking out for the infernal hero he’d vowed to destroy as his quarry. This lead to an early lead for the Chaos contingent. The primary objective stayed the same for the second battle round which enabled the Chaos army to extend their lead. However the unit of 6 Flayers destroyed the spearhead Bloodletters, although a larger unit appeared in the main body. This gave the Undead a couple of victory points to keep them in the battle at the half way point. Tarak Skorl appeared in the rearguard and the Daemon Prince gained initiative enabling the Bloodletters and himself to charge the Flayers and hopefully avenge the two units that had already been destroyed. This proved to be the turning point in the battle as all 6 Flayers were killed with no way for them to be resurrected. With the objective still not moving the Chaos’s armies lead was unassailable and Skorl left victorious holding a Hexflame pendant in his hand.
  2. Thinking back to Old World, they could have some kind of animosity rule as a penalty for having a Big Waaagh!
  3. Naquas Barionic, Mistress of Shoals, had reached out to Sigmar and Morathi for aid in her battle to stem the cannabilistic tide of the Blisterskin Court that was currently rampaging towards the newly discovered Stormvault. Word had reached the Idoneth Tidecaster that powerful artefacts had been locked inside and the arrival of Stormcast and Khinerai reinforcements gave her belief that it would be the Ionrach enclave who recovered them. The Flesh Eaters started by securing their leaders as they anticipated that the attack could come from any direction. They weren’t wrong as the Heartrenders dropped from the sky and loosed their barbed javelins towards the Crypt Infernal, however they failed to do any significant damage. The first battle round ended with the Idoneth taking an early advantage. Turn two saw the SoulScryer and two units of Fangmora eels deep strike in to the Blisterskin flank, although some pitiful charges and attacks saw the Crypt Horrors stand strong. The Fulminators fared better, cutting the Flayers unit in half. Despite an early high tide the Aelves failed to take advantage and the Khinerai again failed in their mission to kill the Flayer hero. In their turn the Death horde were able to summon back to their full compliment and their decimation of the Order forces began. The Terrorgheist flew atop the Azyrite ruins before descending down on the SoulScryer who was quickly devoured by a boney gaping maw. The round also saw the death of the Fulminators, a unit of Heartrenders and the eels destroyed to a single Lochian Prince. Although their numbers were dwindling the Deepkin went in to the third round with double the victory points of the Blisterskin. The Flesh Eaters took the initiative and more Aelves perished as the Death force remained at full strength. The only chance that Naquas had was to outmanoeuvre the enemy and she made a daring dash to take the central objective. Her bravery paid off as her selfless act secured an Aelven victory and the Flesh Eater Courts were kept from entering the Stormvault. To Naquas Barionic it felt like a hollow victory as she returned alone to the aethersea, gripping the Realmstone Wand she had recovered whilst fleeing the battlefield.
  4. What happened to themed weeks for Forbidden Power? we had one and then nothing since....
  5. Played my first game of Meeting Engagement last night and we decided to use the first battleplan. My IDK list was Spearhead - Tidecaster Naquas Barionic, Mistress of Shoals, 10 Reavers, Quicksilver Swords Main body - Soulrender, Lotann, 10 Thralls, 3 Ishlaen Guard Rearguard - 10 Thralls, 3 Morsarr Guard I was playing against Khorne. My idea for the spearhead was have the tidecaster and reavers rush the objective and use some ranged attacks to score points in the first battle round. I didn't manage to get my endless spell off but the reavers took out one bloodletter with shooting and their 8" movement meant they scored me the maximum 5 points in battle round 1 (who would have thought reaver would ever be useful :P) Going second again in battle round 2 I countered his charge with his bloodletters, who took out half the reavers, by retreating with them and flanking either side with eels and thralls. This again won me the objective and wound points making it 10-0 Strangely high tide was the best round for Khorne as he let me go first so he could use the quicksilver swords and it meant a lot of my units were out of position for charges. Khorne managed to get 5 points here as he rushed the middle and took out my first eels whilst his Daemonic Prince general survived by 1 wound. Khorne went first in the final battle round and although he got all the charges as well as summoning 5 bloodletters and 5 hounds thanks to blood tithe and Karanak, he hadn't accounted for the Morsarr spears special ability and I took out his general before anyone attacked in the combat phase. Unbelievably the Morsarr rolled 3 twice to fail a charge in my turn which would have undoubtedly resulted in me taking the objective but ultimately it didn't matter as I got 23 wounds to his 21 and the final score was 12-8 on VP. I really like the way meeting engagements play, there is a lot of strategy to deciding your 3 contingents but also I feel the lists can be very thematic, helping tell the story of the battle. When composing my list I could just imagine the Tidecaster and Reavers storming onto the battlefield loosing arrows and Eldritch energies, with the Akhelian nobles coming in the rearguard after the minions had taken the brunt of the Chaos Daemons. After seeing no AoS or 40k being played as tournaments at Warhammerfest I'm sure this will definitely become the tournament standard their next year. With only 4 rounds and the way it scores, it feels like a cross between AoS and Shadespire and for me this is a fantastic way to play.

  7. Thank you more great advice, I'm certainly going to try a more competitive list next time
  8. Thanks it does help and yes this is exactly what i'm looking for. I do have a Scryer and Morsarr so I'm thinking i should deepstrike the heroes and take out as many as I can. I'll couple that with hopefully some massive points hikes for his units come July 🤣
  9. I played my first game against my friends new FEC army last night and got destroyed, so was hoping for some pointers. We don't play tournament lists as our group prefers a to use a range of models and often play narrative battles. Last night was the Guardian Spirits battleplan from Forbidden Power with 1.5k armies My List was: Akhelian King Tidecaster 6 Ishlean eels Turtle 30 thralls Shark He had: Royal Terror Gheist Varghulf Courtier Flayer Hero Horror hero 6 flayers 6 horrors He was able to summon another 3 flayers for free as well as use the 3 heroes to roll 18 dice with returning models on a 5+. My eels took out the Horrors to 1 wound and then his turn he brought back 5 models restoring the unit to full strength so i had to fight them again. Add to this a spamming of feeding frenzy and even in high tide I was left with just the tidecaster on the table. I was a bit unlucky with the horrors so things could have gone differently and next time I'd stay away till high tide but still FEC seem awfully powerful. I really could do with any tips to beat them.
  10. Bit late this month a lot of FEC stuff for a friend Forbidden Powers scenery and spells My new Sylvaneth (Looncurse and Start collecting)
  11. You are better than the 'Eavy Metal team? I would love to see some of your work
  12. For the first time ever i read the Lore before the the rules and I really enjoyed the story behind the Stormvaults and and am genuinely intrigued by the cliffhanger ending Agree with general feelings here about the endless spells and legions being ok Penumbral engine will probably only be used by my group when it's free with the battleplan, I think the campaign looks interesting and we'll be starting it very soon. Mercenaries seem ok too and am looking for more companies in the GHB as my group play a mix of narrative and matched play i don't think they'll be too game breaking.
  13. Having read the story of FP and the battle of Lake Lethlis this is purely a fluff reason. As people have stated the GHB will contain more Mercs. and I'm guessing these will be more varied.
  14. Blitz Bowl - Elfheim Eagles Continue my Dok battleforce Hopefully make a start on Looncurse Oh yeah my Soulscryer need finishing too so I've got a fully painted IDK army
  15. It's IDK discussion so talk about what you like. In fact in that vein here's a pic of my Eidolon I just finished yesterday, I now have about 2400 points fully painted.
