  1. Thanks for all of your input. I am now in the process of adding brighter spot colours and making the skin and highlights brighter, and it already looks a lot better. I completely agree wth your points about the base. Do you know of any companies/sculpting tecniques that I could use to get the effect? Thank you so much!
  2. I recently finished another unit of three eels, but they don't 'feel' right compared to my Leviadon, which I am very happy with. I don't know why it is. It might be due to the colour choice on the eels, I'm not really sure. It might also be due to my unuasually messy paint job. Thoughts would be much appreciated. Sorry for the horredous quality of the pictures, hopefully they are good enough quality?
  3. Well, I'm pleased to say that my plan worked! We were playing focal points. BR 1. He went first and moved up into a commanding position in the middle of the field. In my turn , due to the way I was set up, I couldn't really get a charge off, and I would have been charged by goregruntas in return. I moved my chaos warriors into the center of the board, but didn't charge, trying to bait him into charging my buffed chaos warriors BR 2. My plan worked. He got priority and charged into me with 6 gruntas, morboys, a megaboss, ardboyz and ten boneboyz. Total casualties: 10 bloodreavers, four skullreapers and nine chaos warriors (this was with a big waagh). At this point the battle was effectivly over. I charged 5 chaos knights into the gore-gruntas and wiped them out, while a my wrathmongers killed the megaboss. BR 3. Although he won priority, his vastly crippled force only killed 5 knights, the remaining chaos warriors and the other unit of skullreapers. I could now just run around claiming objectives, while the second unit of knights charged in and killed the unit of arrowboyz that had charged and killed my first knights. After this battleround, he conceded Although he took my bait and couldn't get the double turn, I think that in the event of the double turn I would have been able to deal with it very well. The chaos knights performed amazingly and a lone skullreaper managed to account for 2 boarboys in one combat phase. I also found that the list traded well. I always had a backup unit to come in and take the place of the unit that died. Had I been doubled, I wouldn't have been able to do this, but I could have tried a combined assault and swipe him off in one big push. Overall, I am really happy with how it performed and I think it will become my base list to adapt in the future.
  4. Thanks for your advice. I tried a similar list yesterday versus largely the same list and there damage increased massivly (8 damage vs a 4+ save). I lost the game horribly after I got doubled into turn 2, my first screen was shot to death before he charged in to clear my second with everything. Obviously that wasn't a good decision by him, as it meant that there was an approximatly 55% chance that he lost the game. However, he won the priority, shot off screen 3 and then charged into the rest of my army. I conceded after I was left with a unit of wrathmongers and a daemon prince. I think next battle I might try using chaos warriors as a screen but only have one layer of a screen. That will hopefully provide a bit more protection with a 3+ re-rollable save. His limited shooting/ mortal wounds shouldn't be able to get through that. The next layer can be made up of units like skullreapers ready to counter-charge if he doesn't get the double. If things go badly, then the row of skullreapers/ wrathmongers should be able to hold up the charge for another turn, and then my third row - made up of chaos knights - can charge in and hopefully cause enough damage to give me a chance at winning on objectives with late game summonning versus his vastly depleted army. I was thinking something like this: Do you think that the plan has legs vs orruk warclans?
  5. Here's hoping that the new Be'lakor model will have a 400 point cost or less, or I might have to make my daemons into a LoCA force! @Sharklone Generally, I don't think that Skarbrand is included in many tournament forces, but the other Bloodthirsters are in the Tyrants of Blood battalion. With a murderhost for battleline/objectives, and a Slaughterpriest and Bloodsecrator, you can have a good force. If you wanted to include Skarbrand, you can put him into the Tyrants battlation instead of one of the bloodthirsters (or even as well), and use him in the Reapers of Vengeance for the double attack. I think take the WoK or IR thirster out. The Fury thirster's 6" pile in is too good to pass up IMHO. With Reapers of Vengeance, wrathmongers and a secrator, Skarbrand is doing 48mw automatically. Slaughter is an excellent weapon as well. The problem that you will face is trying to get Skarbrand up without him being shot. The 6" pile in from the Fury thirster definetly helps, but against shooting you will struggle.
  6. Thank you for your advice. I changed the list around quite a lot and made sure it included warhounds, and they did really well. I also modified it t have more threats in skullreaperes and a daemon prince. I won the game 20-19 (despite having none of my orriginal army left on the table at the end of the battle) after the daemon prince ran around his backfield, summoning bodies and holding objectives. Sadly, I got badly doubled into BR 2 and didn't screen well, despite the extra bodies, meaing that the skullreapers died after only being able to attack once. I'm increasingy finding that against big waagh, I just can't beat them by killing them, so I just have to play the objective game. Even the skullreapers have been dissappointing in the last few games, after failing to kill a unit of five boarboyz. The wrathmongers have been very swingy, one game tabling 3 gore-gruntas, and the next failing to kill a big boss. What tips do you have for getting the most out of them? I've been using killing frenzy, and keeping them near the banner of the bloodsecrator. Might an aspiring deathbringer be useful?
  7. Hi. I'm playing Big Waagh in a couple of days on TTS. We're going to be playing scorched earth. The game will be 1800 points. I was wondering if this list would be good? I was thinking that should maybe swap the skulls and swap the karkadrak for a daemon prince and then include a bloodstoker (this would make me have equal drops to him. Which do you think is better? He is running a mixed bonesplittaz and ironjaws list (with 3 casts). He likes to castle up in the middle of the board until he's at 24 waagh points (round 2 if he's lucky, 3 if he isn't) then attempt to wipe me from the table while using smaller units to hold the objectives, thereby forcing me to make the first move and risk getting counter charged. Are there any changes that I should make to the list? Thank you!
  8. I was so excited when I heard that there was a list including Lotann in the tournament! I really wish you were on the stream! Did you find the Namarti Thralls any better? Do you find it better to run the thralls as MSU or in big blocks? MSU might get more in combat, but then you couldn't get the Soulrender Lurelight to some into play much...
  9. That is a very good idea. Thank you! I was wondering if it were possible to make a list that had a decent number of namarti reavers? I know that due to the armie's buffs being combat based it is hard, but if I'm not wrong we could get reavers to 9"/3/3+/3+/-/1? Could there be something there? I was thinking something like this: I understand that it isn't very competitive, but do you think that it could have some legs, and are there any changes that should I make?
  10. Ok. That's a shame that they struggle so much, but thank you for youir responses. I guess I'll just stick to my chaos until something changes. EDIT: @DocKeule sorry, I forgot to mention that he prefers to run a Pestilens list. Something along the lines of:
  11. I've played a couple of games with deepkin against my friend's skaven on TTS, and he is really struggling. Are there any tips that you could give to help fight against the deepkin? I am going to tone down my list, but when we get back to normal, I will have to field the Akhelian things, because tht is all I have. And Namarti aren't too bad anymore. He also really strugles to screen well.
  12. In the Honest Wargamer's latest list review, they were reviewing lists for Hammertime 7. Most of the Idoneth lists were Fuethan, which I think is different from the more recent Dom-Hain. Do you think that Fuethan is becoming the better option with the new(ish) broken realms rules? Most of them didn't flip the tides as well. Do you think that that is a good idea, or do you think that if you are playing Fuethan it is a better idea to flip the tides
  13. If you aren't seet on only using Bloodbound, using units like Chaos Warshrines and a Chaos Lord on Karkadrak with Chaos Knights might be helpful. They are far more resilient to shooting. Wrathmongers will alos be a good choice. @Roark put a list that doesn't rely on characters a couple of pages back. I think that would be the kind of list you would want to use. If you want to play only Bloodbound, MSU and playing the objectives will probably be your best chance. The Goretide command ability will come in useful for maybe caging them in turn 1, hopefully making sure that the crawlers won't shoot your heroes until a little later in the game.
  14. I was thinking about how good MSU eels can be in Idoneth with there flight and speed, and it got me thinking that tzanngor enlightened might be a good ally in small quantities. They are quite expensive, but I couldn't think of a cheaper option. I think they would add quite a lot to a khorne list. Do you think they mght be viable?
  15. I think it was @Charleston that orriginally had this idea, but I would love to see khorne harpies / valkeries led by Valkia the Bloody (a new plastic kit would be great). If they could deepstrike like the daughters of khaine heartrenders that would be brilliant. A ranged attack would also be nice but I'm probably pushing my luck now... That and an extra khorgorath sculpt.
  16. I'm currently working on my Leviadon and I would like to get an irridescent look on the shell. I'd like to keep the blue colour as well as the gradient on each scale. Does anyone know of any paints or techniques that I could use to get that irridescent look while still having a blue colour with varying tone?
  17. It was about realm themed khorne forces. There was a lot of talk about how there is more than just slaughter. There were cults, temples and rituals metioned. Hopefully this might mean that the lore gets slightly more diverse? I would love this!!! I really like the Valkia lore and model, especially the sort of irony with Sigmar being similar to Odin. It would also allow for some deepstriking similar to the Daughters of Khaine, which would be brilliant. I need this so much! Thy ey could make a BR box with 3 khorgoraths maybe?
  18. There was a podcast about Khorne Bloodbound background on the warhammer community. Seeing as most of the warhammer community content is for advertising, I was thinking that this might indicate that we are getting something in the near(ish) future. They could have done the podcast about Lumineth, Slaanesh or Daughters of Khaine, given that they are getting updates soon, but they chose khorne. It's probably a bit far fetched, but I'm still hoping. What do you think?
  19. If I were you, I'd switch the Chaos Warriors to a 5 and a 10 and then combine the Marauders into 1 unit of 40. In my opinion the bonuses of having 40 are too good to pass up. I would also keep the Slaughterpriest and Chariot as they are.
  20. What do you think the likelihood of points drops to mortal khorne units in the winter FAQ is? I'd imagine bloodwarriors will come down points, but I'm not sure what else will happen. What are your thoughts / hopes on what will change? I'm just hoping it won't be like the 2019 winter one.
  21. So we know that the AoS FAQ is coming out this month. A lot of people are very vocal about the Idoneth being too good or them causing a negative play experience . Eels and sharks undercosted, high tide to good etc. (most of which is probably true.) So it seems to me that we are going to see some pretty sharp points increases to the Akhelian part of the army. I'm also think there will be points drops for Namarti + Ishrann (looking at you Lotann). Do you think that this might change the way the army is played? Maybe more of an even split between the different parts? I think it could put the army in a very interesting place. I don't think we will see high tide go, however. That seems to be too big a change for an FAQ. What are peoples thoughts?
  22. Unfortunately, we can include chaos chariots, but we cannot make them priests. As you said, the priest keyword on the chariot is locked to the idolators subfaction, which can only be taken in Slaves to Darkness. You could include a Chaos Warshrine as a replacement though. They are tougher, hit harder and provide a good set of prayers. The Warshrines can also cast the judgements. Hope this helps.
  23. Sorry for the double post, for some reason I couldn't edit my previous one. For Khorne, there are many options. There is the khornate lord Ull'zharr, a named Skullmaster. Then there are the Bloodthirsters. There are are still 5 tiers of Bloodthirsters that we don't have models for. In addition to this, there are 88 Bloodthirsters, each with there own role that we don't have models for. Personally, I'm not going to be satisfied until we get models from them all 😅 So @Neverchosen, I think it is quite unlikely that every named character will get a model...
  24. I have another from the idoneth book. The Tru’heas are the healers of the idoneth. The book doesn’t mention if they enter battle with the phalanxes and I think the chances of us getting a model for them will be pretty small, given that they would fulfill largely the same roll as the Eidolon of the Sea and Soulrenders in games.
