  1. I am more concerned about BoC not getting rules in any broken realms book (or even mentioned in the story i think?) than kragnos not being chaos. My army has been boxed for awhile as i don't like the current playstyle and large amounts of useless units. I find more fun in other armies. I do hope they are getting new models one day, a DO shaggoth on the scale of what we saw yesterday would be amazing. Or just one big named model beast atleast. I like most of the current range, their warscrolls just don't match with the way they look. I rewatched kragnos intro and it makes sense, hes just a 'natural' centaur to begin with, it would be similar in a way of saying dwarves cant be chaos.
  2. Anyone else notice the white dwarf cover too? it says 'undead' which is odd wording unless its a placeholder name. It should say soulblight or GA death or something.. undead is really generic for them.
  3. They can be magnetized but i found it a real pain, i did about a 50/50 split then magnetized 9 so i have all options covered. You could maybe start with 6 of each for now. Its impossible to tell with aos3 coming we've heard so many rumours now, battalions going and possibly non-batteline being limited to min size. Horrors don't have rend which has made them become very lackluster as aos2 progressed they aren't hitting 3/4+ rerolling saves. Flayers are better but bravery improved and their melee profile isn't anything special these days, so are starting to feel overcosted.
  4. I would never buy the single boxes for horrors/flayers, just buy more start collecting and sell the minis you don't need. Lots of new soulblight players will want those dragons, the ghouls are always popular because they fit in lots of game systems too. I used to get a chunk of money back just from trading the remaining vampire lord bits that came in the zdragon kit aswell. FEC are easily the cheapest army in AoS and one of the few armies i enjoyed painting hordes of. As for the cursed city model, still no idea why everyone loves that. Since it got revealed FEC players have been all over it but as a general rule of thumb i wouldn't proxy a flying creature with one that has no wings. I guess you could say its jumping around? i don't think its exactly wysiwyg. There are some great third party varghulfs out there too, i have one original gw metal and then a few alt sculpts. The same goes for the courtiers if you dont feel like kitbashing / painting one to stand out.
  5. I thought it was Grombrindal. White hair, ancestor as name. Showing up randomly. Seems to fit. I'm assuming he was sent by grungni who we know has a plan in motion. Maybe armed him with those weapons which was a symbol to belakor that hes back. I would have expected grungni himself to be abit more noticeable and not blend in with a ship crew but maybe shape changing? Also there was a lot of talk originally about kragnos having a dwarven shield/dwarven charms/trophies on it. Connected?
  6. I was hoping we would have the roll off for first turn like 40k, it opens up list building a lot more. Those low point melee heroes & monsters might be worth looking at again. Battalions never seemed balanced points wise, some armies have to take junk ones like bonus to bravery just to reduce drops then other armies get powerful ones for similar points and reducing their drops. You also have all the issues with the 'tax' you pay to bring a terrible unit in if you wanted a good one.
  7. I think the unlikely alliance refers to nighthaunt who probably side with belakor. If i recall his ultimate plan was to destroy the anvil which would align with death. They consider sigmar a soul thief as he reforges stormcast when they die preventing Nagash getting their souls. In the teaser for the book you can see belakor is preventing their souls from going into the sky.
  8. price will be tomorrow morning. I'm on the fence with it cos i think he will sellout due to being both aos & 40k. So i have to blindly pre-order before the warscroll reveal on friday night. I think he will keep his slaves keyword and is a nice model to have regardless.
  9. The two spears are also in the same style as the other weapon rumour engines(crude - wood with nails). One has an ogre head and elf head on it. Would have to be a very strong goblin... The face to me always seemed like a chaos release its very similar to the chaos knight champions's shield or a mounted lord(currently resin).
  10. I'm still seeing conflicted news. GW aren't confirming anything it seems. Dark sphere which is one of the bigger set of UK stores said 3 days ago no additional runs are planned yet my local lincs store yesterday said its been added to the standard range 🤷‍♂️. I guess we just have to wait . Anyone else in the UK have any news from their store?
  11. My local store in the UK said it has been added as part of the regular range and is not limited. All the previous iterations of whq have been the same.
  12. I think these are for a full undead ogre kit for soulblight. They have 2 models in WHQ and have been mentioned in the short story. I don't think even GW are low enough to release a battleforce(the ogre one) and replace the models months after (im assuming this could a delayed release too and should have come out way earlier) so i don't think its for destruction unless they are adding brand new types to the ogre range or something with a crude style as a new army.
  13. There have been a lot of reboxings and random disappearing from store and reappearing. Khorne bloodletters and the demon start collecting are gone too unless they are now back. Lots of the older 40k marine stuff recently disappeared for a few days.
  14. Uncontrollable life makes me think of rampant trees / spirits not elves and centaurs though, and i dont see see either of them buddying up with orks. I do remember reading that the savage half of orion was imprisoned by her near greywater fastness i believe? Maybe that could be a thing.
  15. Is katakros a mortarch? The book hints that there are currently 5. I assume the usual 3 + lady O are 4 of those. Who is the 5th?
  16. My store ordered one for me at the start of the week, they were on the price list so they should have them.
  17. I have zero knowledge of high elf or lumineth background. Narratively what makes a loreseeker able to infiltrate an army? I don't think he's got a particularly good warscroll, the rules just seemed random to me. The changeling infiltrating makes sense but I think even orks aren't stupid enough to not notice an elf in bright white armour in the middle of their ranks?
  18. Does anyone have a side by side of kragnos shield with a dwarf that has those runes? I dont see those runes on the 'modern' post-aos release dwarves that i've painted but perhaps i'm looking at them wrong?
  19. A 4 archregeant FEC list would have very high drops so autolose against any lists that can kill some archreagents before his turn or the opponent can advance & spread making him have to summon in his own table edge behind his army, where they do nothing for an entire turn. Its also highly questionable to have 4 copies of the same wizard, many will have nothing to do, at that point you would be better just taking flayers instead and making 6-9 model units and having a battalion. Usually with FEC people complain about gristlegore terrorgheists fighting first or the double attack for a cp not their summoning.
  20. On the subject of FEC summoning free stuff i a quick glance but didnt see it mentioned.. The summoning cost is baked into their warscrolls. The archregeant is a 240point 7w wizard. Terrorgheists/zombie dragons with riders pay a premium because of the summoning too. Obviously you don't pay the entire points cost of the summons but atleast 50%. Its part of a risky design style that makes them doubly vulnerable to alpha strikes/being killed before they summon. You could say a lot of armies have summoning as a 'free' allegiance ability
  21. Seems that unlike the morathi book there isn't really any new rules in this for the other factions? The battalions have been posted online(assuming its real), then its just 1 per faction. So basically you get 1/3 of a page of new rules? Edit seems nurgle got a few warscrolls atleast.
  22. I'm struggling to visualize this as miniatures, the original stormcast chamber already has sword/hammer with shield troops, 2handed knights. Bow archers. Mounted knights, priests, heroes, a big dragon etc. All i could think is there would be lesser versions? Like peasants but then those aren't real stormcast they would be cities of sigmar surely. More mounted ones? they have so many with different options already
  23. It might be worth looking into 40k armies to see a core rule concept that hasn't been used yet in AoS there are often similarities. I really hope they don't do aethergold again, aetherquartz is too similar. Urgold is totally different and is just an army buff table pick one a round then it's gone. One thing I am expecting though is alot of summoning probably through a new mechanic. Whether it will be the main focus of the army, who knows? It's been more vampires than necromancers so far but all those weaker units zombies, skeles, dogs just scream summoning to me.
  24. Negative play experience, things like: having to spend 2 cp to use a command ability - shuts down some armies severely or atleast restricts how they normally function multiple rerolling unbinds/bonuses or autodispels etc. - shuts down peoples options and counterplay/finesse/strategy preventing a unit from taking any actions unless they roll high on a dice roll - again this can just lockout specific armies/lists and is frustrating if it is so luck dependent. These are a few that many consider unfun or unfair. Usually its 1 of these sort of abilitys given to only the most lore powerful/expensive units. E.g belakor, katakros but LRL just have a ton of this stuff baked into their core rules. The recent rule previews were seen as adding more.
  25. It also removes the identity of many armies/units and what makes them fun/unique to play if another army can do the one thing yours does, and gets a ton of other stuff ontop of that.
