Hey, i'm asking for a friend of mine, who plays the treefolk. Why would you ever place 3 trees in a circle, when you can get 3x1 tree. It looks like so much more value with no downside at all? Any explanation would be awesome!

Do you mean in 2.0 or in 3.0? And how many did you deepstrike with Spume? No other support? So you could play a daemonheavy list and just add Spume +X Blightkings for some variety and still be effective? Until now it is Plaguebearer-anvil with Drone-Hammer for me. But most damage still came from One last gift. It was pure joy to see 20 LRL Wardens just melt away under all of my gifts.🤣

So there is no way to play Rotbringers competitively? Blightkings seem especially weak, because they can't combine their 6s to hit male D6 hits with the blades of putrification spell. I mostly deal damage via the commandtrait "one last gift", everything else is just peanuts...

I only see daemonheavy list in the net. What happened to Rotbringers? Is Plaguebearer Spam outclassing the mortals?

According to the corerules, the player rolling the dice can choose which ability is triggered on a 6. And only one ability can be triggered. So RAW each ability of our opponents that triggers on 6, just stops "One last gift" from working. That is just stupid. How do you think about that?

I would also split the drones into 2x3. Buffed drones are a good hammer, but they have big bases, wigly coherency and they die...like flies do😂. With 2x3 you have a back up hammer, which i really missed last game. What exactly is the task for the Chaos Warriors and tamed beasts? Never played or saw them until now. Poxbringer was only good for holding an objective, but nothing else. First candidate to be kicked out of the list. My GUO definitely needed the endless gift. He held a unit of 6 fully buffed kurnoth Hunters for 3 turns until my GUO went down by shooting from the depressed treegirl (20 attacks damn...). The bell on the GUO is obligatory. But against any Buffed magic the bileblade only made things worse for my GUO. No spell went through (obviously bad dicerolling was involved).

Can you use the Bileblade multiple times for one cast to be able to get +2, +3,...?

This Thread seems to be gone in hibernation mode... How are you guys doing with 3.0? Tried out blightkings again? Are only daemons viable? Is munificent wanderers obligatory? Do you have some interesting lists? I am painting my next 500p atm for a 1k5 list. Played my first game of Nurgle against lumineth and made a lot if stupid mistakes regarding priorisation, but in the end won with a 3 points lead. MVP was Sloppity Bilepiper who only got 2 wounds by a treelord ancient and then kept on to hold his ground. GUO was truely discustingly resilient but the Bileblade was useless against his warsong with the roll 3 dice choose two for magic stuff. I think that i will exchange the blade for the flail so the GUO can kill at least something. Plaguebearers fell like flies against Kurnoth Hunters. Nurglings and Beast of Nurgle were meh... I think it could be dangerous to teleport Nagash without support. When he is gone, you have a problem. Saw a list on youtube that went all in with this strategy: Nagash, Arkhan, 3x Mortek, Crawler, Burning head. He teleported Nagash with 4 mystic shields (cast by Arkhan) on and several arkhan bolts. And even he seemed to struggle to keep him alive... Beautiful ponies by the way.👍

Nope. In 3.0 you just need 2 battleline for games between 1000 and 1999 points.

So i would just need the everchosen book for the 4 subfactoon pages? I looked into the battletome today amd it seemed not so worthwile. Battalions are useless, many warscrolls got updated,...so ruleswise only the general faction rules, command abilities and artefacts are useful? Because i am on a budget i have to decide what i can live without. The rules for munificient wanderers can be found on the internet, the app has the warscrolls and artefact/commandability wise only the witherstaff seems important. So i am thinking about skipping the books. What do you think? This will be my first list at 1k. Am very excited to try them out! Hey fellow maggots, I had the opportunity to grab a BR: Nurgle box, so it seems that i am starting a new army project again.😄 My question is do i need the Everchosen book to start Maggotkin or is the battletome enough? I know that i just need the battletome to play, but what about cool and/or strong subfaction/artefacts etc.? I know that the changes from BR: Teclis are essential, but the Updated warscrolls are available on the AoS app, so i don't think that i need that book. It seems that Maggotkin are awesome on the defensive side (which i love!) and nearly don't have any offense and because of that are consider quite weak?

I just noticed in the FAQ that you are able to throw a dice for each of your harvesters if a model is slain within 3" of any harvester. Could there be a strategy?

The new Petrifex reduces the enemies rend by 1 (to a minimum of 0), so it actually is like +1 save (but only against high rend attacks of more than 1 rend).

Until my Arkhan arrives and i can start playing Petrifex, i will be trying this list. On sunday i will be facing Sylvaneth in my first 3.0 battle. I don't know much about them, but i expect high mobility. So i will be moving forward in a big blob around Katakros and try to break some wood. Thanks mate. I am still in need of Arkhan, but i will order him tomorrow i think. Rest of the army is nearly painted and ready for action. Especially excited to try out the new Petrifex Elite.

The Deathriders always underperformed for me, but i only play against Lumineth and Ironjaws, so no experience against other factions. Crawlers never killed anything with the herosnipe, so i am not convinced of them either. Harvester always worked well and with the new monster rules he should be even better. where do the 10 points between the two lists difference come from? You just changed one Crawler (points) into a Harvester (215 points). Is being lowdrop still a thing? I thought in 3.0 it doesn't matter any more? Petrifex with Arkhan sounds quite interesting. I will be ordering my Arkhan soon to test it out.😊 Here are some more pictures of my progress. I'm on the finishing line, only Nagash, Nexus and 10 Mortek to go.

Still finishing my OBR for the third edition. Today some small magic and the Crawler. Not much left to go. Just 2 Endless Spells, 10 Mortek, the Nexus and Nagash...but Stalkers are coming in the mail soon.😄 I was thinking about three blocks of Mortek each supported by a Harvester. We could at least try to play the monster game...Mortekstyle.😁 Crawler seems to be out of fashion soon, because of no rend. I think it will often come down to the decision Katakros with Praetorians for defensive play or Arkhan with Petrifex for agressive play. What do you guys think of Stalkers? Still any good?
