  1. Compare with Tzaangors Contrast with Liberators, Ogor Gluttons etc. When a unit’s weapon options are mutually exclusive, the warscroll explicitly refers to “the unit” as being armed. When it’s not, they use a pronoun to represent the individual models.
  2. Can you tell me what the advantages of Khorne are over Slaanesh? Slaanesh basic Mark should be out damaging khorne General Mark once any buff comes into play.
  3. I don’t recall the old wording of the Mark ability, but I do remember Varanguard had a similar ability that was distinctly designed to give the keyword during the battle. I’m guessing there was some official clarification along the way since people have been using marked slaves units without it being cried foul.
  4. What exactly is filth about this? I think S2D community is probably too used to having no rules at all. Personally I was expecting a whole lot more than what was given, given the content of the last 6-7 battletomes. But I'm content to let results speak for themselves in the new year. You all are excited, perhaps I should wait until you've played games and the frustration has set in. If the S2D community is used to not having rules then they probably aren’t going to get frustrated by their performance with the new; vastly improved rules. I’m sorry you’re disappointed; but I don’t think anyone else was expecting Slaves to jump from literal worst Army to Top Tier or 1st tier from one Battletome.
  5. The Karkadrak is way too expensive to run in 1k points; especially if you’re only using 5 Knights.
  6. Indeed, when a unit has mutually exclusive weapon options it’s phrased as “the unit is armed with one of the following weapon options... in addition x units may replace their weapons” See Sequitors, Liberators, Ogor Gluttons etc When the unit is allowed to mix weapon options the entry is phrased “a unit has x number of models each armed with... in addition...” See Tzaangors, Varanguard etc
  7. What do you guys think of the Vortex Beast? I plan on buying a couple for 40k, they looked over costed when they were 200 points, but now they look tempting.
  8. People seem to expect GW to take power creep to the max with each book apparently.
  9. Our magic is pretty strong. Sorcerer Lord has an excellent buff, the one on Manticore has one of the best horde clearers in the game. Our lore ranges from situationally excellent to very good in general. The Chaos Icon endless spell is excellent. We have solid Activation Wars in Daemon Prince, Sphiranx and our Spell Lore. Our our speed is sufficient to alpha strike heroes with marauders. Our knights, Varanguard and chariots are a combination of fast and durable enough to tag an objective until our Warriors or Golems can sit on them. If we can mix weapons, which there is almost no reason to assume we can’t, our Warriors are absurdly durable. Our only real weaknesses are unit prices in a vacuum and our deep strike being tied to a spell or a very high priced unit(Gaunt Summoner). One of those is probably going to be fixed in a GHB. If we horde clear with Magic and maneuver our units well I don’t see any reason we can’t win games on objectives. I just think the Army is more difficult to pilot well than other armies, but I don’t think they are as punishing to ****** up with or as overpriced as Stormcast.
  10. The ones in the back will have the halberds. My guess is that it’s because of the atypical number of units and weapons you get in the kits, which they’re keeping (16 warriors in the kits, 10 special weapons in the upgrade packs. Meaning you’ll have 2 spare for each unit of 10). Also I’m guessing that’s why they nerfed the 30 blob; because now it’s like 15-20/15-10 Great Weapons or Duallies - Halberds.
  11. You should be able to run them with mixed weapons now. “Each armed with one of the following weapon options” contrast with Ogor Gluttons “The unit is armed with Gulping Bite and one of the following weapon options”
  12. Do Pink Horrors generated from the Gaunt Summoner benefit from Split when summoned into a Slaves army?
  13. You can’t use it as battleline in the other Chaos Armies (Maggotkin of Nurgle, Disciples of Tzeentch). You can use them and mark them as Nurgle and gain Nurgle’s benefits, but you can’t use it as battleline. Only Slaves to Darkness.
  14. There are two distinct models but perhaps you can find some Tzaangor Enlightened/Skyfire bits or 1k Sons Sorcerer bits.
  15. Warcry warbands are antagonistic towards the major Chaos gods. They either worship Archaon as a god or as an aspect of their minor Chaos God. They want to operate outside of the observation of the major chaos gods, because they would destroy said god. That’s why they are all CULTISTS.
  16. I’m gonna run a unit of 6 Rockgut Troggoths regardless of effectiveness, just because I love the models. Seriously, when I was flipping through the books I freaked out when I saw I could ally them. It was the open play day for our local AoS group and one of the people there said that their favorite part of the day was seeing just how happy I was with that. I’ll tell you about it when I get a chance to run them but it will be a while before I do. I’m getting to the “I don’t want to play with unpainted models” stage of the hobby and I’m still lagging behind on my other armies. To me it looks like as long as you have your battle line taxes covered, they should be able to be run in place of Leadbelchers.
  17. You add +1 to the Blizzard Speaker(not Everwinter prayer though) prayer roll for each THUNDERTUSK within 18” of your Huskard. Page 113 under the Blizzard Speaker ability.
  18. It should work out to do better damage than my Lord of Change who is more expensive and doesn’t come with the benefit of being 10 models.
  19. Yeah I looked at that picture too but it seemed like it could have been a perspective issue at the time. The feet would be hanging over on a 40mil base though. So I think you’re right. Hopefully they update it soon.
  20. I think the blowback is stemming from the Ogor models bravery being so high after the eating bonus now. Tyrant should definitely be useful with Gnoblars at the very least. I haven’t actually used my Tyrant yet so I really couldn’t say one way or the other. I was running a Slaughtermaster and Butcher opposite spiderfang in the one match I played so I was in melee the whole time.
