  1. Where does it specifically give an example of fights first vs last? The only example I could find in the faqs was locus of diversion vs smashin and bashin which isn’t fights last vs last.
  2. From what I’ve read the example is locus of diversion and Smashin and bashin. This is not a fight first vs fight last example, it is a fight last vs fight immediately after something else has happened. Which I think people would still play, it’s certainly how I’ve played the tyrants of blood rip when effected by fight last.
  3. Thanks They’re a bit crazy but I’ll try to explain. I wanted to get depth in the ice so ended up cutting into the bases and glueing on plasticard underneath to create a seal, then filled in the gap between the plasticard and base with cork bark. Add any other basing material you want onto the above water part. Prime the whole let black. Drybrush up through Mechanicus Standard grey, Russ grey, Fenrisian grey and Ulthuan grey. On the plasticard pop a layer of Fenrisian grey down. Now the fun part... If you want to add anything trapped in the ice paint that up and glue onto the plasticard. I’ve used a mixture of heads and arms and so on but could really be anything. Fill up to the original base rim with clear resin and leave to dry. Once the resin is dry, add a layer of clear crackle paint. And once that’s drybrush it really lightly with white. All you want to do here is make the cracks really stand out. And lastly add whatever snow mixture you like to use. I used woodlands scenic soft flake snow with an equal amount of pva and went to town! You can skip the resin part, in which case don’t bother cutting into the base, and just flatten the surface of the base where you’ll put the crackle paint, a file and a layer of pva should do the trick. But you still want to base coat it with the grey before adding the pva.
  4. This article should help - https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/03/21/who-fights-first/ In essence halo of blood let’s you fight in the start of the phase. Then in the main part of the phase you activate as per normal. And then evertything that activates at the end of the phase last. So in your turn you get to fight first and then get to pick a unit as your first activation afterwards. Unless your opponent also has something that can fight first as well of course.
  5. What slaughterhouse are you using? I’d suggest trying out blood lords. Ok you don’t get the chance to fight twice with your thirster, but if he’s using the Slann for summoning you don’t need the extra anti magic that reapers will give you and against bravery 10 the extra d3 fleeing is useless. Compared with blood lords you can throw the halo and slaughterers thirst on your bloodthirster to give it 14” move, rerolling charges and hitting first. That should be enough if there are effective screens to stop it getting shot off the board. Also if there are so many monsters, the reroll wounds of 1 against hero/monster is going to work really well! Also, invest the buffs on a big blob of letters, 30 within secrator range with killing frenzy from a priest plus locus, plus reroll wounds of 1 against hero/monster is rather formidable! 2 attacks each, 2+ reroll 1s, 3+ reroll 1s, with 6s to hot dealing our mortals. Heck, you could even invest further in that blob by giving the herald the halo of blood, then he fights first, then go the blood letters, and then it’s normal activations. Yet another step further, downgrade the thirster to UF, and give that herald a 6” pile in range... Whoops, went off on a tangent there!
  6. So for this month the plan is: 1. 6 Necropolis Stalkers (half done at the moment) 2. Boneshaper 3. 20 more Mortek Guard Stretch: Finish and base Nagash. I started the model the best part of 3 years ago, but never finished off some of the details. Im resisting the urge to strip it at the moment, as it will not be the same quality as the rest of the army once I’m finished, but it’s a good measure of how much I’ve improved in that time.
  7. This has been a very productive month! I managed to finish everything planned along with the Nexus and units of blue and brimstone Horrors. Last couple of pics.
  8. It’s really not too hard, I went for a more glowing blue rather than something fiery, but all you need to do is really water down the paint and it just drops in the details. Since the details are really clear it makes it a lot easier! This guy was done by first dropping white in and then blue over the top making sure you can still see a little of the white but not being too particular about it.
  9. Just finished the Mortek Guard from Feast of Bones. These were such nice models to paint! Enough going on that they were interesting to paint, but not tons and tons of little extra fiddly bits (looking at you Corvus cabal...) and the details on the models were so crisp! I’ve got a full free weekend home alone, so hoping to get the Nexus and Endless Spells finished off, they’re all in differing stages of half done at the moment...
  10. That’d work, I’m just worried that the stalkers would lose their effectiveness as a unit of 3. Maybe the unit of 6 could clear a decent sized horde.... 30 attack’s, hitting on 3s rr 1s, wounding 3s rend -2 dmg 2 is going to average 31 wounds against 5/6+ save or 26 against 4+... Seems as good as anything to be fair! Also against the 4+ could use the additional rend to get up to the 31
  11. So this has got me thinking. Maybe there is a list worth taking Nagash in. Bumping up the unit of Stalkers and taking the Shield Corps battalion to get effectively 2 extra RD a turn (from not needing to spend for shield wall) Petrified Elite: Nagash Bone-shaper 3x10 Mortek w/ swords 6xStalkers Shield Corps battalion Umbral Spell Portal 1990 pts with 4RD + D3 + 6s My real concern is how to deal with hordes though. I suppose this is where the crawler would come into its own but I can’t see how you could fit it into a list with nagash as well.
  12. @Kramer Thanks Yes it did, seems like they allocated a bit more for 3rd parties this time. Im part way through building them, hopefully have some wip’s to share soon!
  13. Still making good progress this month. Here’s the Corvus Cabal finished up, not my best effort but I was rushing to get them finished. I might go in and add some more highlights into the feathers if/when I feel like it.
  14. @JonnyTheKing 100% magnetising. Also has the benefit that you can mix and match the models as long as you keep the polarities the same. If you’ve already built them I’d suggest magnetising the bases and using a box lined with metal so they can’t move around. Maybe something like this
  15. Hey guys, I should be taking part in my first tournament in January. What do you think of this list?
  16. Haha, it’s just one of the sculpted ones that comes in the box since it’s from the Underworlds warband. Can’t take any credit for that!
  17. My pledge for this month is the following: Magister Corvus Cabal (need these done by the 16th for a warcry tournament) Build and prime Bonereapers from Feast if Bones, if it arrives... Bonereapers endless spells
  18. Well the Tzaangors got finished. Didn’t manage to make a start on the Magister as I got caught up in Armies in Parade. Finished: 20 Tzaangors Bloodthirster Lotr Balrog for a Xmas present I played about with colours for Bonereapers as well, so although I never finished the morghast that I was experimenting on I know the scheme I’m going for. Pics to follow this evening 😀
  19. Yes but they should also know that there is demand and match it. Even more so with a new army. it also doesn’t make sense to have a new army sold out immediately as this will result in people just not getting any of the models. At least that’s my take on it...
  20. @ScottyjockI’m tempted to come along but not taken part in a tournament yet. How newish player friendly is it?
