  1. Staying power.... we need staying power. Fire power is fine. Better saves - ships counting as more than one model for objective purpose - combat avoidance/modifier mechanics (like the thunderers ability or maybe negative to hit bombs on charge). If they fixed that and left our fire power alone... gg. We will see soon!!! Can't wait!!!
  2. But, can you drop one unit out of the battalion and then next placement drop the remainder of the battalion? Or, once you decide to place the battalion, some of it or all of it, that is it and you revert back to normal placement rules of one unit at a time. For example, I declare I am going to place my battalion totaling 5 units, and am going to only place 3 of the units... do I then have to drop the remaining 2 units individually over the next 2 placements or may I drop them together as one placement for my next placement.
  3. So, just to check. I can have two characters with verminous valor? Running Warbringer as general with command trait of verminous valor. Then, I have a Clawlord also with verminous valor due to this ability; "Mighty Warlords: each non-general Clawlord may take a Command Trait, and no Clawlord can can take the same trait." Seeing as my general isn't a Clawlord and my Clawlord isn't taking the same trait as another Clawlord....
  4. Just to touch on the new GHB19. Remember, in the old GHB18 you received an additional command point for each increment of 50 points you were under by. This let you run under points, get command points (at no point cost), and potentially get the triumph table benefit. Now, you actually spend 50 points counted in your army's point total. (and at a maximum of 1 CP as mentioned above) With the new edition, I am at 950 and wish to take an extra CP... my list total is 1000. Old edition, I would still be at a list total of 950. In addition, you don't accrue your inherent CP or your extra CP until the start of your first turn (small change, but big implications). This is big for those who like to go second... you will have not command points to stave off bad battle shock test from a heavy alpha strike.
  5. So following all the noise... an faq would be nice eh?
  6. If it is a command ability, not a command trait, then you must spend 1 command point to activate the ability. Your General can use the standard command abilities from the main rules and the new GHB 2019 at a 12" range, while other heroes can use them at a 6" range. Again, you will spend 1 command point each time you use a command ability.
  7. The issue I have with reserves in meeting engagements is that most deep striking units arrive at the start of a hero phase or end of a movement phase... But the contingent they are likely part of will arrive at the END OF THE TURN. Thus, according to the rules, must be setup with their contingent or not at all. So basically, no deep striking. TBH, the meeting engagements need an FAQ to clear up some nonsense.
  8. If you are referring to meeting engagements.... well there is a lot of poorly explained bits. A small focus group of players would have poked holes all over this new section and GW could have cleaned it up... but it seems they didn't. So, like the new terrain section, I am waiting for an FAQ for something that shouldn't need FAQ's to use.
  9. Not to add more confusion... but is "Obstacle" a keyword on the warscroll? I can't seem to find any terrain the says "Obstacle"... Does anyone have an example?
  10. Maybe it has been answered already, but I can't find it. Barak Zilfin - There's always a breeze if you look for it - If my ship is engaged in combat, can the ship retreat during it's special hero phase move and then, rules as written, override the normal restrictions for retreating from combat and act normal for the turn?
