  1. Forgot the T in there whoops! But thank you for the more accurate translation. This is extremely interesting news 👀
  2. Bone Monaseries of the Askurgan? I am guessing "Askurgan" is a whole AOS word to itself? 😮
  3. I know GW teases can be pretty opaque but there is no way that teaser is not a new knight kit!! I think the only debate is what creature said knight will be lancing from
  4. It's probably the reason all of the naming is... Like That yeah. Final signoff for production would've needed some kind of IP guarantee. I'm not so sure we should peg the entire design process on it though, since the reimaginings are a better standout against WHF, DND, Tolkien, etc etc--there was certainly a core design idea to make AOS uniquely high fantasy.
  5. Not at all what I said or meant You know as well as I do that GW doesn't tell us jack. Which is another reason to not be surprised by this rumor. The older a model is, the more chance it has to become a proxy instead of a current model. This was happening even in WHF when people would bring older elf and human models instead of buying the refreshed/new plastic versions. If your new book has warscrolls that older models can slide into even as WYSIWYG, you can still use those older models for as long as you want. The only GW rule against models is no non-GW models at tournaments. The now-COS models were all old, no one really knew what was happening with them aside from the Legends Warscrolls. When COS got announced as a way to ACTUALLY use those legends units in AOS, it was more about GW giving older armies a legitimate play book and providing another mortal army based on the new Order cities' lore. There was never any guarantee the old models would stay, only that you would be able to use those models via proxy.
  6. Is it really *actively* stopping people though? When COS was first announced it felt like the people who wanted to play it had a general understanding that they could proxy most/all of their old stuff with the warscrolls provided? For example, it didn't include High Elf spears or archers, yet you could easily count them as Eternal Guard and Crossbowmen respectively. Like I understand the frustration but also this should've been expected, and proxying has always existed with wargaming.
  7. Was there ever an announcement about the Narrative event winners and what that meant for the current AOS/40k narrative??
  8. Do you have Dominion? It fits perfectly, and buying both means the only Thunderstrike models you're missing are Bastian, Knight Judicator, and the chariot I love it!! Got mine at an LGS so a little cheaper and it helps keep a local store alive.
  9. Stormkeep could probably be an entire campaign unto itself too iirc descriptions from @Baron Klatz
  10. sky ships, water ships, any kind of megastructures like cathedrals, ossuaries, indoor markets, transport station, etc!! There's so many places!
  11. I agree, there's so much more than open battlefields in (high) fantasy settings... would absolutely love to see a proper 500-1000 point game for AOS.
  12. It can replace current sculpts: judging from all the preview pics, you can make 5 blowgun and 5 melee chameleons. They come in 5s on tabletop so the 5 blowgun sculpts you can fit right in.
  13. Yeah it's...preeeeeetty bad it is easier to mass-order things from the UK to ship here now
  14. Either one would be fine tbh, though I hope it's not too much Lizard stuff or i won't have room ;_;
  15. Can't really speak to the mathing part but THIS IS AWESOME!!!
  16. It does very heavily depend on your area and the people inhabiting it! Plenty of places have vibrant AOS scenes. I do worry about the self-fulfilling prophecy of this, however, it does also come down to "people can and should try non-GW games" when they're unhappy with GW as a whole. This is why anyone's frustration at AOS should absolutely NOT mean just go buy into 40k. Secondly, (temporarily) leaving for other games unfortunately hits AOS harder than 40k, and like I say earlier in the thread--the interest issue is less about having new models to buy and more about GW barely supporting AOS in secondary and tertiary media. I truly believe a lot of the dissatisfaction after 3.0 settled is because we have nothing AOS-specific in WH+ aside from a model, we have ZERO news on any AOS games in development, we have much fewer BL releases, and even the specialist games lean more towards the 40k universe. Soulbound is a fantastic TTRPG but even they can only hold up AOS so much without GW's full backing. I'll end this out by making it clear that most of the issues presented in this thread were/are *also* problems in 40k and WHF; they are overall a problem within GW itself and not at all unique issues to AOS. They are also not unfixable issues
  17. Ohh yeah, I agree that's disappointing. I was hoping Vigilors at least would see more play with the points drop. Maybe with the next campaign book.
  18. I was also thinking slaanesh, the sword hints at that too though we can see what is VERY MUCH a "Bad Moon" on the back of this dude, behind the helmet.
  19. The left one sadly looks very 40k to me... especially the backpack. I really hope it's not though
  20. was there another FAQ recently? I didn't think the Battlescribe thing nerfed us?
  21. Clearly we're getting a new Buddy novel + model release! Loq and Kheye: the unlikely duo of Seraphon and Ironwelder here to save the realms
  22. Sincerely hope that doesn't mean people got fired and is instead an Oops! All Cultists! joke
